A DOUBLE salvo from Yang Hyun-jun propelled Celtic to a vital 3-1 triumph over Motherwell as the champions closed the gap at the Premiership pinnacle to within two points of Hearts.
After Martin O’Neill had congratulated his players on a job well done at Parkhead, the Edinburgh side kicked off against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park and were on the receiving end of a 1-0 setback.
As well as the points being trimmed back, crucially, the Hoops are now just three goals away from the Tynecastle side on goal difference – which, as the Celtic interim manager will readily testify – could be the margin that separates celebrations and commiserations at the end of the day.

O’Neill saw the crown snatched away in such a manner on the day they beat Kilmarnock 4-0 at Rugby Park and Rangers romped to a 6-1 win over Dunfermline at Ibrox at the same time in a dramatic conclusion to the 2002/03 league season.
The championship switched to Govan by the slenderest of margins, one solitary goal.
As well as Yang’s two-goal performance, Tomas Cvancara also got in on the act with a penalty-kick to make sure of three points with eight games still to play.
