IT WAS as easy as one, two, three as champions Celtic took another giant step towards winning their fourth successive title, their thirteenth flag in 14 years and the 55th crown in their celebrated history.
There was no stopping Brendan Rodgers’ green machine as Dundee United’s defensive, hit-on-the-break strategy was dismantled by Callum McGregor’s crisp low drive for the opening goal in the 23rd minute.
Cue the moment for comeback Bhoy Filipe Jota to make a telling contribution as he swept in from the left, waited for that crucial moment of impact and then lashed a low drive away from the despairing Jack Walton into the far corner of the net for No.2, his first comeback at goal at Parkhead.

With an eye to Tuesday’s Champions League play-off second leg against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena, the hosts understandably eased off, but they still managed to add a third memorable strike via the right boot of Adam Idah.
A right-wing cross from Anthony Ralston was headed clear by Declan Gallagher to the edge of the box. The Republic of Ireland international striker seized on the loose ball, took a couple of touches and then hammered an unstoppable drive into the roof of the net.
