WATCH AGAIN: FORTY UP FOR FIRING SQUAD

0

RUTHLESS Celtic powered past Ross County in ferocious style to rack up a 5-0 triumph at Parkhead yesterday – and at the same time hoist their goal tally to an awesome FORTY.

The champions are averaging just over three strikes per game after 13 league outings and they are certainly focused in their bid for a fourth successive title, their thirteenth championship in 14 years and their 55th crown in their glorious history.

Brendan Rodgers’ firing squad have thundered their way to an astonishing goal difference of 36 with Kasper Schmeichel invited to retrieve the ball from his net on only four occasions.

NUMBER ONE…Liam Scales nods past Ross Laidlaw.

NUMBER TWO…Luke McCowan fires in a left-foot drive.

NUMBER THREE…Paulo Bernardo lashes in from six yards.

NUMBER FOUR…Callum McGregor (extreme left) watches his screamer thunder towards the net.

NUMBER FIVE…Adam Idah (extreme left) whips in a right-foot drive from 20 yards.

The nearest challengers are Aberdeen – the Hoops’ opponents at Pittodrie on Wednesday evening – the only rivals to come anywhere near those outstanding totals.

The Dons, who play Hearts at Tynecastle this afternoon, have scored 28 goals, conceded 15 and have a goal difference of 13.

That’s a yawning chasm of TWENTY-SIX goals adrift of Rodgers’ steam-rolling Celts and that is almost well-nigh unassailable even with 23 games of the campaign still to play.

Celtic were in no mood to hang around against their Highland opponents yesterday as Liam Scales, Luke McCowan, Paulo Bernardo, Callum McGregor and Adam Idah thumped a variety of efforts beyond the unfortunate Ross Laidlaw.

It’s well worth a second watch courtesy of those good folk of Celtic TV Unique Angle.

Enjoy!
