BRENDAN RODGERS‘ phenomenal Hampden record was extended to TWELVE successes after Celtic ran amok against stunned Aberdeen last night.
Daizen Maeda led the goal parade with a stunning hat-trick while Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyogo Furuhashi and Nicolas Kuhn joined in the romp.
The 51-year-old Irishman has proved to be unbeatable at the national stadium and there was no chance of that record being dented on this occasion with the Parkhead men racing to a three-goal half-time advantage as the Dons’ unbeaten record was blown to smithereens.
It’s the fifth time Rodgers has taken on the Pittodrie team at Hampden over his two stints in charge of the champions, a sequence that has seen him win three trophies – the League Cups in 2016 and 2018 and the Scottish Cup in 2017.
The Hoops gaffer is now looking ahead to the silverware showpiece at his happy hnting ground on Sunday December 15 when the first trophy of the season is up for grabs.
Would anyone bet against Irish eyes smiling on that occasion?
