LUKE McCOWAN might have been getting prepared to play against Celtic when the champions face Dundee at Dens Park on Tuesday evening.
Instead, the energetic midfielder, a £1million deadline-day recruit from the Tayside club, was celebrating big-style with his Hoops team-mates as they overcame stubborn Ross County in Dingwall yesterday.
McCowan came off the substitutes’ bench in the 73rd minute to replace Reo Hatate and add some oomph and a goal threat to the visitors’ play with the game deadlocked at 1-1.
HOOPY DAZE…Luke McCowan is mobbed by delighted team-mates after scoring Celtic’s final goal in the 4-1 win over Ross County in Dingwall.
The 27-year-old performer didn’t let down manager Brendan Rodgers or his colleagues as he played his part in the surge to another triumph to open up an incredible 18 points advantage at the top of the table.
Eight minutes after his arrival on the scene, Kyogo Furuhashi headed his second goal of the day to hoist his personal tally to a praiseworthy 85 strikes.
Arne Engels made it 3-1 after a penalty-kick retake and McCowan brought the scoring spree to a halt in the eighth minute of 12 minutes added on to roll in No.4.
It made for heartwarming viewing on a chilly afternoon in the Highlands and is certainly worth a second look, courtesy of those good folk at Celtic TV Unique Angle.
