WATCH AGAIN: McGREGOR HEADS FOR PERFECT TEN

0

CAPTAIN Callum McGregor edged to within one strike of double figures when he swept in No.3 in Celtic’s 5-0 romp against Aberdeen at Parkhead last night.

The Hoops’ influential midfielder has discovered his shooting boots this season with nine eye-catching efforts with the first arriving in the second game of the campaign when he lashed in a spectacular goal in the 2-0 league win over Hibs at Easter Road in August.

Before the month was out, McGregor had added another in the 3-0 victory over St Mirren in Paisley and eased into September with a humdinger in the 3-0 derby success over Philippe Clement’s Ibrox side in the east end of Glasgow.

HOOP HOOP HOORAY…Callum McGregor in celebratory mode.

Number four arrived at the end of the month in the runaway 6-0 rout of St Johnstone in Perth, but the 31-year-old onfield leader fired blanks in October before his curling effort foxed Robby McCrorie in the 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on November 10.

The joy of six arrived three weeks later in the 5-0 home victory over Ross County and then it was the magnificent seven in the 2-1 Scottish Cup success over Derek McInnes’ Ayrshire outfit at Parkhead on January 18.

McGregor rifled in his eighth to open the way for a 3-0 home triumph over Dundee United on February 15.

And the former Scotland international staged a striking action replay last night against the Pittodrie club, sweeping finish that was also his 50th league goal for the club.

The perfect ten awaits the inspirational skipper and possibly it will arrive in Paisley on Saturday evening. Don’t bet against Calmac!

However, McGregor has a long way to go to rival Daizen Maeda who lifted his goal tally to 25 for the term with his double against the Dons.

It was another performance from the champions that is certainly worth another look courtesy of those good folk at Celtic TV Unique Angle.

Please enjoy.
