WATCH AGAIN: THE LATE, LATE SHOW

CELTIC struck in 29 SECONDS when they overcame VfB Stuttgart 1-0 in the Europa League play-off second leg encounter in Germany on Thursday evening.

At Ibrox yesterday, we saw the other side of the champions as they battled all the way to the final whistle to earn a point in the 2-2 Premiership stalemate after going in two goals down at the interval.

On this occasion, Martin O’Neill, celebrating his 74th birthday, saw his players come of the ropes in spectacular style as they turned the game on its head.

TAKE-OFF…Yang Hyun-jun is sent flying courtesy of a challenge from Tuur Rommens.

Kieran Tierney kick-started the comeback with a header any self-respecting top-quality striker would be more than happy to claim. Benjamin Nygren provided the ball with a cute dink across goal and the Scotland World Cup-bound defender rose high to make contact and apply the finishing touch.

The clock was ticking down when VAR spotted a handball from Dujon Sterling to divert a Daizen Maeda off target.

Reo Hatate elected for precision rather than power with the resultant penalty-kick, didn’t quite get it spot on and Jack Butland sprawled to his right to block the effort. The midfielder followed up and, amazingly, the keeper got a hand to that shot, too.

Thankfully, the Japanese ace got a third opportunity and managed to force the ball over the line for the strike that handed the champions a point.

It’s well worth a second look – courtesy of those good folk at Celtic TV Unique Angle.
