IT WAS turbulent and it was tense. Hampden Park was not a place for the faint of heart yesterday.
Martin O’Neill’s Celtic and Danny Rohl’s Ibrox side went at it at a fair old gusto as they fought and snarled for a place in the Premier Sports League Cup Final against St Mirren at the same venue on Sunday December 14.
When the smoke of a frantic battle cleared, it was the holders who emerged triumphant in a 3-1 encounter with Johnny Kenny, Callum McGregor and Callum Osmand claiming the goals as the tie spilled into extra-time.

G-R-R-R-E-A-T…Anthony Ralston’s reaction to Celtic’s Hampden triumph.
It had been two decades since O’Neill had been involved in the tension and drama often offered up in this no-holds-barred fixture.
For German Rohl, at 36 less than half the age of his dug-out opponent, it was his introduction to the confrontation that can often produce powderkeg qualities.
This occasion was no different with contentious decisions being made by match official Nick Walsh and VAR as the meeting between the Glasgow foes raged for two hours.
It’s certainly worth a second look – courtesy of those good folk at Celtic TV Unique Angle.
Please enjoy.
