Watt ready to push Hooper

922

There were so many pleasing aspects to yesterday’s performance.  Perhaps most importantly, we won a game and scored goals without our primary creative fulcrum, Kris Commons, and without playing our backup fulcrum, Charlie Mulgrew, in a creative position.

Several players will return for Wednesday’s Champions League play-off decider against Helsingborgs but Tony Watt has given Neil Lennon plenty to consider.  He was by some magnitude the best player on the field, and was considerably more threatening than his strike partner, Gary Hooper, who has had no genuine competition for the main striker position since arriving at Celtic two years ago.  I’ve felt for some time that Gary needs to be pushed.  Tony might be the man to do this.

Do you remember six years ago we mocked Paul Le Guen’s Rangers with, “You’re fourth in the SPL…”  Poor Sevco are fourth in the fourth tier of Scottish football.  Give that guy McCoist another 5% of the shares, he’s absolutely priceless.

We Oscar 4 Life’ have organised a bucket collection for Dundee home game at CP on 22nd of September and require a Lorry Load of Volunteer collectors. To volunteer as a bucket collected please email us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com.

Strangely enough the back of the class was my customary position back in the day.

  3. Shimmies, I can recommend you a pub in Belfast for you for Wed game.

It is a bar on the Falls Road called The Rock Bar. It is owned by none other than other than Paddy McCourt, a guy who you can’t stand so best not going in there then!!!

If you are in the centre of Belfast I don’t think many pubs will show it so better take a short taxi to the West. The Felons is a very decent pub to watch Celtic and should have a big crowd in for it.

Incidentally, has anyone else noticed that the BBC have sneakily removed ‘The’ from ‘The Rangers’ name in the Div 3 table – it was certainly there at the start of the season.

For those discussing it earlier, Tony attended St Andrew’s High School and grew up a big Celtic supporter.

  17. Tim Malone Will Tell on

Somebody somewhere with some balls should be asking Stewart Regan whether we should just expect ‘more of the same’ each week from the SFA supplied referees?

His ill considered comments and actions regarding Sevco during the close season surely ensures that referees will feel enormous pressure to give them the benefit of the doubt – and well beyond that – given todays ridiculous decision at Berwick.

Its a serious point and one that a few Third Division managers should be making a.s.a.p.

  18. Tim malone will Tell

Notised that too, they did it just before season started but were still placed alphabetically the last team, the removal of the”the” should have moves them above stirling

  19. Under Kingston Bridge…that’s where Leggo sleeps! Did you observe the foul heathen on your Rimbaudesque peregrinations Estadio?

Personally I would have been tempted to give him a sly boot as I went past…

  20. Seven fishes

Thanks for that I dont dislike mccourt at all Just get annoyed at the god like status some people give him ( i know its not his fault) I want Celtic hereos to be Jinky Big Billy Tommy Henrik etc not a guy who has started about 16 games in 4 years under 3 different managers

Anyway i know Belfast well staying in Benedicts and usually drive up to the Falls when we are on Tv so i will look out for Paddy’s place

    Again thanks for your help
