Watt ready to push Hooper

There were so many pleasing aspects to yesterday’s performance.  Perhaps most importantly, we won a game and scored goals without our primary creative fulcrum, Kris Commons, and without playing our backup fulcrum, Charlie Mulgrew, in a creative position.

Several players will return for Wednesday’s Champions League play-off decider against Helsingborgs but Tony Watt has given Neil Lennon plenty to consider.  He was by some magnitude the best player on the field, and was considerably more threatening than his strike partner, Gary Hooper, who has had no genuine competition for the main striker position since arriving at Celtic two years ago.  I’ve felt for some time that Gary needs to be pushed.  Tony might be the man to do this.

Do you remember six years ago we mocked Paul Le Guen’s Rangers with, “You’re fourth in the SPL…”  Poor Sevco are fourth in the fourth tier of Scottish football.  Give that guy McCoist another 5% of the shares, he’s absolutely priceless.

We Oscar 4 Life’ have organised a bucket collection for Dundee home game at CP on 22nd of September and require a Lorry Load of Volunteer collectors. To volunteer as a bucket collected please email us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com.

    You’re right.

There’s a caching mechanism in place to soften the blow of the “refreshes”.

This is harsher when you’re not logged in.

Sadly, sometimes that means there are more comments in the pagination query (that can’t be cached) than there are in the “display” query.

Can you let me know what browser you’re on?

Is thon tequila sunrise an aphrodisiac? After a hard days work I’ve tried to beguile the missus using Marvin Gaye and ma wily charms. Granted my craft suffers from a certain clumsiness. All advances have been firmly rebuffed, further proposals encountered with a more intense vehemency. She seems to have settled for a choc ice and a foot pedicure. But what yer man lacks in finesse he makes up for in plucky endeavour…is it time for Tequila Sunrise? Is it readily available in most stockists?

    Off to the shops.

    Good night.

  3. The 2 most popular threads on Rangersmedia (sic) are

“McCoist isn’t up to the job” and – this is brilliant – “Stuart McColl. Send for him now”

    Oh my aching sides.

The commentators on the real game are nearly as biased / hilarious as our commentators in Scotland……….total joke …..c’mon Getafe ……

One thing I love is people peddling puns. And people talking about other sports is something some can’t handle – bar me.

    That’s Brilliant.

Who did they superimpose his face onto at that goal. Of the top of my head, given the strip, I’d guess Gerry Creanie or Andy Paton?

“Ok first thing first that park today was not watered to make sure our passing wasnt going to be slick it was as bad as i have ever seen and showed when people were hitting trundeler shots.

Second thing which seems aparent to me in these away days our youngsters look a bit lightweight and are getting bullied.

So no knee jerk reaction from me ill keep my trust in ally ”

    Slick passing? Bullied players!

  8. Paul67,

I agree with this article, definitely.

I remember Neil commenting he is expecting 4 to come through this season, and that means more could also make it in.

So who is the 4th? :)) and how jolly spiffing will it be to have our own Schooled players dominating the First team again. I know

I’m loving us bringing through these Highly skilled young players.

Take a bow Celtic, take a very well deserved bow for incredible forward planning.

Look at our backdrop – We are producing Champions League players (hopefully) despite everything else in Scotland being totally SHOCKING.

If Scotland wants to get back to its former status it better realise that Celtic is the only way it will be able to do that, the realisation that Celtic are the greatest thing to happen to Scotland will help.

Over to you Scotland/SFA. Or hang on like the Bigoted, Parochial, Self Centred and hateful people that you really are and watch Scotland slide all the way down to San Marino level.

The proof is in the Sevco need for a disallowed goal in the 4th tier to avoid defeat.

Utterly, utterly embarressing to see such a thing happen.

    Corruption Corruption Corruption.

Spot on ……. Our Board had a plan, stuck to it, and we are now starting to see the fruits of the Celtic Development Plan ……. And they brought NEIL in, a MASTER STROKE …

  11. The Comfortable Collective

I think it’s him hitting it and he’s superimposed on the game in the background. Easier to do that than graft his head onto Andy Payton I’d have thought. Well done nonetheless.

  16. Nobody seems to have commented..

But I thought NL comments about Tony Watt in the article by Moira Gordon were very poor…(Pasted in last thread)

He should know better than to be critical of any of his players, when he is talking to the MSM…

He continues to show a troubling naivety,in his dealings with the MSM..

He should learn from Ferguson and Wenger, that managers should not be critical of their players, when talking to the Media…

What Goes On At Lennoxtown….Should Remain At Lennoxtown…

  17. Seven Fishes Four Steaks

I think Neil made the comments after his injury (which is even better news in a way as he was ahead of a couple of boys).

Neil Lennon done a fantastic job with the youngsters and he gave a few Highly rated BPL teams a bloody nose. It is no coincidence that Neil Lennon is in this situation whilst Celtic adopt this new way of doing things.

Perhaps if people go back and watch the interviews when Neil and John Reid were being interrogated by Hun Press, it may make a lot more sense now. ;)

This Celtic Board know exactly what they are doing and their plan has always been 5 years ahead.
