Watt ready to push Hooper

922

There were so many pleasing aspects to yesterday’s performance.  Perhaps most importantly, we won a game and scored goals without our primary creative fulcrum, Kris Commons, and without playing our backup fulcrum, Charlie Mulgrew, in a creative position.

Several players will return for Wednesday’s Champions League play-off decider against Helsingborgs but Tony Watt has given Neil Lennon plenty to consider.  He was by some magnitude the best player on the field, and was considerably more threatening than his strike partner, Gary Hooper, who has had no genuine competition for the main striker position since arriving at Celtic two years ago.  I’ve felt for some time that Gary needs to be pushed.  Tony might be the man to do this.

Do you remember six years ago we mocked Paul Le Guen’s Rangers with, “You’re fourth in the SPL…”  Poor Sevco are fourth in the fourth tier of Scottish football.  Give that guy McCoist another 5% of the shares, he’s absolutely priceless.

We Oscar 4 Life’ have organised a bucket collection for Dundee home game at CP on 22nd of September and require a Lorry Load of Volunteer collectors. To volunteer as a bucket collected please email us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com.

  1. For me ,the bit of play by Watt that excited me the most ,was a bouncing ball which was the ICT CBs ball.Tony muscled him and headed the ball on and turned him,all in one movement, cue the unpunished foul.TW got up and nearly scored again. We have a player here.

It is mind manipulation, and unless we have referees of the standard of Pierluigi Collina they are being put into a Shocking situation where most will fail easily.

  4. HT-I posted that TW had a telling off from NL a couple of weeks ago.EC67 knows more about the subject.TW seemingly has listened and learned.

  5. I don’t know what the talk about Tony Watt is tonight but Neil Lennon could not have been more fullsome in his praise of him yesterday after the game.

Fantastic performance by the young man and even if he did have words, my God Almighty, it worked well.

That is Real Deal man management.

  6. Actually for all that is wrong with english football (broke narsicists) (sorry about spelling) I wish we could have their refs.

Few match fixers in scotland will ever get to Collina’s standard, well none will, but guys like Craig Thompshun are very good at their job.

He can break the game up when needs be without question, guys like Colum and Murray and the like are not anywhere his standard, the are seen to cheat on a regular basis.

What really bothers me is that the supremisist beings who run the game in scotland are quite happy for the game to go down the pan for the sake of saving them.

There is an opportunity to save the game, let the footballers flourish, but no, not even on the agenda, the game stinks, the corruption is so feckin rife, it’s the norm.

They are prepared to sacrafice the national game for the sake of them, that is the sad thing.

We have decent players coming through these days, but alas, they are fecked, the priority is save the huns at all costs, come what may.

The game in scotland is finished.

The will to change is not there.

The 4th division managers should be shouting from the rooftops, the silence is deafening, the rest of the managers should be shouting from the rooftops, again the silence is defening.

We have a couple of suits in place at the sfa/spl, what are they doing, nada as far as I can see.

All the will is getting them back asap, the game is finished as a sport.

  11. HT-As EC67 and Petec are saying, the main thing is NL has dealt with it and TW has moved on too.The best prospect we have had since Aiden probably.

Is that it? Is that all there is? I hadn’t read Moira Gordon’s article – I am not one of the 40odd thousand people who do – and when you posted earlier that Neil was naive in his comments, I was expecting over-the-top criticisms of a great young talent. Let’s examine it then.

‘hopeless trainer’ – that phrase has been used for a hundred Celtic players in the past and for all we know from a press conference, it may have been said tongue in cheek, or the way a father will tell pals that their child is ‘hopeless at tidying their room’, where the child grins and the father laughs. Blimey, if we’re getting our knickers in a twist over that, then things must be going well.

‘body language’ – see above. Again, it’s one of those throwaway comments that can be taken as a mild-mannered rebuke to a young man. Body language is over-rated in football – a temporary harumph from a player means only a lot if it’s done over ninety minutes, but again, with a young player it can be worked on.

NL hardly berated TW (I’ve gone all MadMitch) – a couple of public comments can work well and keep a head level. We really do find some minor rods to beat our Celtic heroes with.

Was hugely impressed with him yesterday.

He’s only 18, in football and life in general he’s got much to learn I’m sure we can cut him some slack on both counts.

You rightly termed the referees match fixers, and you are right there but they are just doing a masters bidding.

The whole setup in Scotland has been unbelievable and extremely corrupt, right down to the finest of details.

The Whole of Scotland has passed it’s verdict on Sevco. As ever the Dark Secretive ones hold onto the levers of power, and it goes all the way up to the pinnacle of every Globalist Organisation.

Celtic – Just Win and keep doing what you are doing. I’d rather die watching Celtic lose every game rather than watch my team cheat once to win any game.

  19. TET…

“NL hasn’t yet made comments that backfired on him”

The ones that annoy me most are when he rushes up to the Sky Box…just as the game finishes…and makes comments on controversial incidents…such as fouls and contentious decisions…without having had the benefit of video review…

The most glaring example was his comment following the assault by McCulloch on Kayal…”Two player going for a 50:50 ball ( or words to that effect)”

No…study the Real-time and Slo-mo..and Elbows curious behaviour in the aftermath..Calculated assault…which has had major ramifications for the player, the club…and the squad.

I’m sure the plan was to sell Ki last January…when he was in a good run of form..for a top price…£8-9M.

But all that went out the window when we lost Kayal…and Ki has never looked much interested since…though it’s not in the Korean Character to do a strop..

All too ready to concede regarding decisions which have gone against us….without seeing the video..which would have proved a mistake had been made..to our cost….

Best say” I’d have to see it again..”

Or “I’m not sure”…..rather than undermining a more considered reflection…in the hours and days after the game..

There you go again, rushing to crticise our manager. He does not go ‘rushing up to the Sky box’, he appears on tv after the game as he is contractually obliged to do so (tv contract with club). But you knew that anyway.
