ANGE POSTECOGLOU has sent a heartfelt message to Celtic fans for their overwhelming support.

The manager had enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the supporters since arriving on these shores as Neil Lennon’s long-term successor in June 2021.

The 57-year-old Greek-Australian gaffer made an instant impact in his debut campaign as he led the Hoops to their tenth title in 11 years folloiwng the disappointment of the previous term when the quest for the historic 10 was blown shortly after the turn of the year.

A ROUND OF APPLAUSE…Ange Postecoglou acknowledges the Celtic support.

Postecoglou picked up the League Cup only six months into the job when a double from Kyogo Furuhashi downed Hibs 2-1 at Hampden.

And, of course, the Parkhead club are on the brink of a glorious treble in his second crusade.

The League Cup was retained with a 2-1 victory over Michael Beale’s Ibrox team in February – with Kyogo again on target with two trademark strikes – and a win over Hearts at Tynecastle on Sunday will see the flag fluttering over the end of Glasgow for the second successive year.

Plus there is the intriguing Scottish Cup Final against Inverness Caley Thistle at Hampden on Saturday June 3 to view with eager anticipation.

Postecoglou is already planning for his third campaign at Celtic and, speaking to the club website, said: “It continues to be my great privilege to lead this unique football club.

“Our group of players and all of the coaching staff are aware of the huge responsibility we have to do all we can to deliver the success you deserve.

“We’ve had a very positive season so far and now we want to finish in style. The League Cup is secure, we are in a good position in the Premiership and we now have a Scottish Cup final to look forward to.

“I want our players to enjoy their football and I want our fans to enjoy watching them play. The rewards we aim for can only be achieved by dedication, effort and belief in our style of play, bolstered by your incredible, passionate support throughout the season.

“We have built on last year’s success and while our immediate focus remains on getting the job done this season, preparations are already well underway for the next campaign – and it’s a hugely exciting time for everyone associated with Celtic Football Club.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have already achieved and we can look forward to the challenges that lie ahead with confidence.

“Our strength is our unity. We know that the atmosphere you create at Celtic Park is second to none and please never underestimate how important this is.

“When we’re all in, we can achieve special things together.

“Thank you for all you have given us this year – we hope that we can count on your support at Paradise once again next season.”
