‘WE CAN IMPROVE ON 5-1 IBROX WIN,’ FORREST

JAMES FORREST has warned Sevco Rangers that Celtic can improve on their 5-1 win at Ibrox in April.

The winger, a two-goal marksman in the 4-0 triumph over Ross County at the weekend, insists the champions have the ability and firepower to blitz their opponents in Govan on Saturday.

Forrest said: “Can we do better? Yes. That is what it is all about. It is about getting better and doing even more.

“We will be going there and looking for another positive result. Would it sent out a message? You can say that.

“I think that is what happened last year with the earlier 5-1 game at Celtic Park.

“Most of the games were closer apart from the last one at Ibrox.

“We know it is going to be hard and we want to come out with a win.”

The Hoops will go into the High Noon showdown with a five-point lead over Pedro Caixinha’s side and Forrest does not accept the theory the form guide goes out of the window for derby matches.

He said: “Everybody always says you can forget about the games before, but at the same time we have had a good record.

“And that does give us confidence going into the game. It is a new season, they have made some signings and we know it will be tough.

“We need to make sure we are right at it. It is a clean slate so we have to make sure we go there and do a job.”
