‘We deserve better’ is one of those phrases which sounds reasonable at first pass but does not stand up to scrutiny.
Fans deserve honesty, good governance and a safe environment to watch football, but do you think any team’s fans deserve on-field success? No. And if there is one club out there where this mantra holds true, they don’t train at Murray Park.
Football success is not a right, conferred by the aggregate number of season tickets bought, divisions played in, or successful campaigns to unseat investors completed. You buy a ticket to be entertained and watch your football team. This act does not come with an implicit understanding of what the outcome of any individual match will be, or an entire season’s undertakings.
It is narcissistic nonsense to think you deserve football success.
‘We deserve to watch our team win, lose and draw.’ This isn’t likely to replace ‘A club like no other’ on your season ticket, but it is the ultimate truism in football and we should all hear it occasionally.
‘We deserve frankness, in times of success and failure.’
‘We deserve to know there is no way to bridge the ‘gap’.’
‘We deserve to be told the old ways are gone forever and there is nothing anyone can do about it.’
‘We deserve to know if we put the club in the hands of a charlatan.’
‘We deserve to know that many of us will never see the league title go to Ibrox in our lifetime.’
You will never see these phrases on a bedspread at the gates to Murray Park, but the day will come when they are acknowledged truths.

Bhoys, far be it from me to swim against the tide, and admitting a certain lack of street cred, I have to say that Hummel is a quite well known and commonly used brand of sportswear in Europe, especially in Germany. Can’t comment on the perceived status nowadays in Weegieland! HH
T-shirt slogan:
“Time to Pummel a Hummel.” ????
Good morning Friesdorfer, I hope you and the good lady are well.
‘We deserve to know that many of us will never see the league title go to Ibrox in our lifetime.’
============
Even though they’re a mess, this is still quite a big call. If our standards drop further, and lets face it this season they have in comparison to last (mitigating factors eg. injuries acknowledged etc) its not inconceivable there can be a serious title race, involving them or even Aberdeen.
A little concerning the zombies scored more league goals than us this season. At a time when they are clutching at straws its interesting that none of them have noticed this. Another season with as much bad luck with injuries to key players, well we wouldn’t want to be getting too complacent.

For the young team in weegieland, street cred is all. Hummel just don’t hit the fashion mark. Think that it is perceived as a cheap brand with cheap looking chevrons on the sleeves. The chevrons look a bit like sergeant stripes, so may appeal to the militaristic forces day lovers in the Sevco support.

Sorry only getting back to you now.
I think they will stay alive in a weakened state and become just another Scottish team.
I would be happy with that
My Celtic supporting window cleaner was telling me that his brother in law is a season ticket holder at ibrokes in the Govan stand , at the recent game against Dundee the rain was pouring in through the roof to where he sits. However it’s ok as that is where new tv platforms are going.
Let’s rewind a couple of weeks: the SMSM were telling us of ‘a title challenge’ and how the team at Ibrox cheered at the prospect of beating Celtic and progressing to the Scottish Cup final.
As these moonbeams disappear in to a black hole, the SMSM are back to the lack of competition is unhealthy narrative. Incredulous stuff.
Speaking of which, I tuned in to Sportsound the past two nights. Sticking with cosmic analogies, it really was from a parallel universe. On Monday most of it was dedicated to what ‘Rangers’ have to do ‘to close the gap’ and compete with Celtic, who their next manager will be etc. etc. But what I found surreal was how ‘the Ibrox match’ seems to have gained folklore status and was the basis of hope. So that will be the game they were beaten 3-2 at home by 10 me having twice been in from. Dearie me. As for last night, most of it was a Kenny Millar tribute show with segments from Ibrox Chris asking Lee McCullough leading questions and a montage of commentary on Millar’s career. Serves me right for listening, but infuriating nonetheless given I’m partially funding this output.
Have a great day all.

Living in the west of Scotland, I would prefer if they died and stayed deid. Watched the match on Sunday with my two sons and five of their mates. All weegie Tims in their 20s. Their concencus was, they would prefer there always to be a team from Ibrox in the SPL, as Scottish fitba would be boring without them and they love the Celtic v Rangers games as much as they love Celtic European games. Old Firmists I called them. :)

BBC Shortbread’s midweek Sportsound shows (the ones hosted by Kenny McIntyre) are legnedary [sic].
Kenny is an unapologetic, dyed-in-the-wool sticky bun: the shows are a joke: if Sevco didn’t have a game the previous weekend, Kenny will still find a way to focus on all things/anything to do with Ibrox.
The vast majority of his ‘guests’ are ex-huns.
That said, I’m sure it would be a fun listen, after a result like Sunday’s …

Looking at the Hummel link , German club Greuther Furth wearva strip made by them .
Greuther Furth have a shamrock on their club crest and have had green and white hoops as their home strip.
That will please the sevs even more .
————————————————————————————————————-
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for poking fun at the poor deluded Sevs but I really could care who manufactures/sponsors their kit. I’m a bit more concerned about the ethical and workforce practices of those the the bigger brand sports kit manufacturers such as Adidas, Nike and even our own who sponsor football clubs on the huge profits they make on the backs of near slave labour conditions of workers in third world countries.
Personally, I’d rather not receive a single penny from these charlatans with their mealy mouth statements about the people who produce their goods whilst allowing exploitative sub-contractors to force them to endure unsafe and often inhumane conditions.
Still only on Mondays but need to post.
Many thanks to JohnBay for the match ticket,to BR and the team for the result,to Neeson’s for the good libations,to TAL for the lucky top,to my two girls for looking after their auld faither and to my own faither RIP who brought me up a TIM through the worst years .
‘These are the best days of our life.????
Whatever happened to the idea that the huns were going to make all there own kit, in a wee place in darkest Ayrshire with only good proddy seamstress working in the mill…
Also I here the huns are now looking for a new striker with the initials KM…..
A left back with the Initials LW….
And next season the manager has to have the initials GM….
Just so they dont look as though they are skint, cant have timmy laughing at them.
Good morning CQN from a dry North Glasgow
Hope all are well
DD I watched game with my mates and my son and his mates down the pub on Sunday, all the young ins are in their 20s, they all say the same about Sevco, that they would prefer their to be some form of Rankers as they like playing them.
Me I don’t get it, I would rather they died.
Maybe it is because of all the bigoted shite we have had to put up with thru the years, which includes job interviews, work place pish, orange walks ( where I stay now we don’t have them the Garngad) fights and the rest.
Maybe times are a changing…

Will advise my mate Gerard Monaghan, that him and his son Kieran are in with a shout of a manager and striker role at Ibrox next season. ??
David66
I agree with all your points. All through the match on Sunday my sons and their mates were on facebook twitter etc. slagging their hun mates and work colleagues. My sons have never faced the bigotry growing up in Knightswood, that you and I did.
Bob Dylan was correct. The times they are a changing.
DD Hail Hail mate

The crocs of their day!
I can remember shimmying along the top of a dyke that separated the wash house from the back court, slipping ( thanks to the slick plastic) and being held upside down, dangling in mid-air caught by the wrought iron hook that the washing line was attached to……..

Didn’t think I had a ticket for Easter Road on Saturday so I organised a wee cheese and wine sojourn into the toon on Friday night
What happens this morning ? Of course it did the ticket dropped through the door, Noo at my age a couple of bottles of Valpolicella and an early rise on a Saturday morning just doesn’t happen.
So do I give up the ticket and celebrate against the Huns next week or do I just stick to the cheese
Ohhh the decisions you have to make when your a customer of a successful team.
A hun kit sponsor called Hunnel? How apt.

Hi Mick, if think Hamiltontim was looking for a ticket if you’re selling it.

OLDBHOY,
I think there should be a concerted campaign of complaints by the Scottish Celtic Support to the BBC about the bias of BBC Scotland’s Sport’s Department. I have tried complaining on my own more than once and just being ignored.

a worthy and honourable venture PCS on your intent
Alas the BBC deems the lying /cheating/maladministered/debt and sectasrianly blighted rgfc who liquidated on the 14th june2012……the same as…
The one chaired by a convicted criminal, after a succession of shysters bought the ashes left after Sir div pockled them.

Just watched a replay of the game and two observations:Dedryck was under strict instructions to not dwell on the ball. After an early stumble his whole game was based on receiving and then playing the ball with his next touch to the nearest team mate.KISS in action.Secondly, when Halliday was having his verbals, the total lack of action from the two coaches-Nicholl and Johansson-was very telling.Neither said a word! Condoning the player’s actions?
A really dominant display by Celtic. HH.
