Scottish football has afforded defending champions the courtesy of a home game on the first day of the season to allow the league championship flag to be unfurled at the start of the new campaign for as many decades as I remember.
As this has, in effect, become a courtesy to give Celtic a home start to the campaign in as many years as my sons can remember, we’ll be at Tynecastle on the opening day of the season. Flag Day will have to wait.
That said, I like the idea of taking on Hearts away, then our nearest challengers, Aberdeen, at home. Come through this successfully and we will be in excellent shape for the campaign.
The Aberdeen game comes immediately after the final round of European qualifiers, so we have an opportunity to finish August in a real high – if we get the preparatory work done early enough.
Bring it on. We don’t need no stinkin’ courtesies.

Why on earth would you care about that? Did Hearts do it last season in their first SPL game?
Flag day is pretty pointless even for the SPL champs, and doesn’t even register if you are unfurling a flag for a different league win.
To be fair to the new club, winning the second tier is the greatest triumph in their club’s history

I posted a couple of weeks ago that Huns would get their flag day on the first day of the new season. It’s laughable that our PLC who have asked for a postmonement to accomodate a lucrative friendly on the second day of the season are accepting this and moving our flag day to a Euro qualifier (midweek) to help accomodate their old firmism. Do these fuckers in charge of our club ever learn?
Can I add that I did become aware of some infirmation re. Res12 midweek that things we’re looking good, and I don’t doubt for a minute with the knowledge of this info that they are very good and that in the not so distant future we as a support will be happy with the direction of this. However the info recieved attributed to the PLC intentions, given the latest shambles of accomodating OldFirmism, I would advise the Requisitioners to be suspicious of the supposed advise the PLC are are saying they are acting (or more aptly not acting) on. The guys in charge really do give a flying duck about you or Res 12.

I actually wasn’t duped. I renewed more in anger at after the sheer obfuscating Hunnery of the Scottish Cup final and that alone had me wanting to stand behind our men on the park behind our wire.
I accept that we will be cheated by SFA, SPFL, referrers. I will never accept our own PLC (associate Rangers fans) on our board cheating us.
