‘WE HAVE BEST PLAYERS,’ SAYS BROTHER PEDRO AS HE DISMISSES CELTIC AND ABERDEEN

‘BROTHER’ PEDRO CAIXINHA has delivered a sensational snub to champions Celtic by insisting he has the BEST squad of players in the country.
The Portuguese coach, appointed manager of Sevco Rangers at the weekend, has already dismissed the merits of players such as Scott Brown, Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair in Brendan Rodgers’ pool of players.
CQN reported yesterday Caixinha, unknown to most footballing aficionados a couple weeks ago, including ex-Ibrox gaffer Alex McLeish, already wants the Scottish Cup this season.
It’s clear the Sevco new man wasn’t overly-impressed by the Hoops when he watched Sunday’s 1-1 draw from the Parkhead stand.
Celtic, who had beaten the Ibrox side in their previous three encounters, are two games away from lifting their sixth successive Premiership crown and are a massive 33 points ahead of the Govan side who also trail second-placed Aberdeen by eight.
Brother Pedro said: “This is the squad we have for now and we really trust the players we have right now.
“For us, this is the best squad in Scotland.

“We just need to give them confidence.

“When I work with one team, the players who complete that squad are always the best ones.

“I do believe the players can have a better version than they are having at the moment.

“We need to work on it. We need to get to know each other. But I do believe these players can do good things until the end of the season.

“If you ask me what the targets are, we can say, okay, we are eight points below second place, but we need to play that opponent twice, so that means we are just two points below according to the way we see things.
“We are chasing, but we like to be in this position.

“The other one is the Scottish Cup. We are just two games from the trophy and I think we go for it, for sure.”
