We know to expect silence from Crawford Allan

178

It is with a heavy heart I write about referees.  Don Robertson made a glaring mistake in not awarding Celtic a first half penalty against Ross County on Saturday for a remarkably obvious handball incident.  Maybe its because we won the game that I feel generous enough to accept it was a mistake.  I’m less convinced that all three referees on active duty missed the incident.  That doesn’t sound credible.

I bet Bobby Madden has some interesting thoughts on the penalty he awarded at Dens Park yesterday.  This is less easy to explain as a mistake, how can you miss seeing something that did not happen?  What Madden’s motivation was to make his decision is worthy of consideration by SFA head of refereeing, Crawford Allan.

Allan has only spoken out against his referees’ decisions when he believed they benefited Celtic.  We know to expect silence from him this week.

As a matter of interest, does VAR get used to check a penalty that has been given or is it only the other way around ?

    HH

    —————-

Both I think. VAR looking for clear and obvious ref errors or missed incidents. All about goals, penalties red cards etc.

That’s why the corner we got vs Livingston would have had the same result under VAR – they don’t opine on throws, corners, standard free kicks in the midfield etc

  2. Gene,

I think his judgement might have been clouded by the fact that his team had been dishing out such “tackles” from the start of the game, quite often when the ball had gone and the MIB simply ignoring such “behaviour”.

According to malky there was little or no contact

Having listened to Malky after the game we won in Dingwall and after Saturday’s match, I reckon there is little or no contact between his mouth and his brain

  4. Collum was supposed to get the CP game originally scheduled for 2nd Jan. That was then given to Madden for the rearranged game the following month. Perhaps Collum is in the box seat for the next one ?

Clancy got the first one at Ibrox, so he won’t get any of the final three but Beaton is a stick on to get at least one of the final three.

  5. !!Bada Bing!! on

The huns have told the SFA that they won’t have Clancy, just like they did with Collum a couple of seasons ago

  6. Michael Buffer will judge the much anticipated bout between Mad Mitch and An Tearmann.

The DR have Dermot Gallagher commenting on the RC red card against us and thems penalty.

To be honest his name doesn’t register with me but he thinks the former action was harsh and the latter correct. Now the guy is either an idiot or a cheat, perhaps both😵

However all this shouting for VAR could end up with folk like him adjudicating. Needs to be done by none Scottish officials.

  11. sceptical citizen on

Celtic supporters went along with the ( big lie ) in 2016 after 4 years of whining about the ( big lie ) by the lazy, unthinking, purchasing of oldfirm tickets at £49 just like the oldfirm tickets in 2012 were £49.

Celtic supporters bought these £49 ( big lie ) tickets in 2016 then they sang…

    “YOUR NOT RANGERS ANYMORE” what??

Just after buying a ( big lie ) ticket these Celtic supporters go and lie about the

( big lie ) yes they did. And these same arrogant, conceited, me me me, types of dullards, who bought these

( big lie ) tickets start to sing songs about “Setting Ireland free”….??

All of this after, SETTING THE BEARS FREE, for £49 ?? Really ??

Two cheeks of the same ass without question.

If these – so called – Irish Republican supporters where in any way aligned with rebellion, or, “Setting Ireland free”… then the £49 ticket trap wouldn’t have gotten off the ground.

The deceitful £49 ( big lie ) tickets would’ve been the old Celtic boards last day in office had they tried this on.

The Kelly’s and White’s would’ve been dragged out of Kerrydale Street by the 1994, “real” rebellious Celtic supporters, with the pish dripping off of their trouser bottoms, most of whom would’ve had their asses hanging out of their trousers given how poor they were.

But, these ( peripheral housing scheme supporters ) remember that description, by Michael Kelly??

These supporters weren’t a fringe group, but a considerable number of Celtic supporters pre 1994, followed Celtic with the last couple of quid£ in their pockets till the following weeks wage packet. In effect, 1994 McCann takeover, accompanied by, all seating, all ticket, football games, and the price of tickets, and games kicking off whenever TV decides, and for a meagre, miserly, financial return, as fans are now viewed as mere parts of the furniture, or, cattle, and now the removal of cash, has removed the poor from football games and now the Celtic supporters are mostly, middle class, like the game of football is now run by capitalists, for capitalists, and Celtic supporters seem to fit comfortably with these dynamics, they even vote for pro austerity, anti-woman, anti-children, anti-Celtic, anti-StPatricksDay, anti-TheWorkingClass, political parties, mainly, SNP and Scottish Labour, and they will show absolutely every sign that they will simply NOT, under any circumstance, engage in any degree of introspection, probably because their terrified of the guilt trips that they’d find themselves on.

All ticket, all seating, and now cashless, has put the game of football and football supporters, onto the same pitch as, the WEF, WHO, CDC, Big Pharma, Big Tech, and likely medical passports, accompanied by the taking of a daily pharmaceutical product, a tablet which is rumoured to contain a microchip, remember folk like me were branded as, tinfoil hat wearing, crazy people, for suggesting this, 2 years ago?? Pfizer announced it a month ago, but most Tims won’t know about this because, most Tims are indoctrinated by the media, and that is because most Tims are either, weak, lazy, dim, hen pecked, or prefer, comforting lies, as opposed to cage rattling truths, who knows??

One thing that might explain why Timmy is happy to be, just another club, and no longer a pish flowing fairytale that ruled Europe when we had 20,000+ crowds, and now we have 60,000+, and Ange ball can’t even cut it at 3rd division level in Europe, whilst the £49 ( now £53 lol ) huns might takeover Seville in May, imagine, THAT, serving as a rebuke for Timmy’s easy-oazzy acceptance of the ( big lie ) buying a £49 oldfirm ticket, to goad and mock the on thur knees huns, led by, Warburton, Murty, Pedro’s barking caravan, Murty again, then Stevie G straight off of Liverpool under 18’s training pitch, oh it was rerr terr, but it was actually, walking off the pitch and leaving Auldheid to fight the shark infested swamp with 2 hands tied behind his his back and his feet chained together. “NO JUSTICE = NO SEASON TICKETS” should’ve been the cry, but it wasn’t, Green Hun styled corner shop goading was the desired dish by Timmy, as Auldheid, was thrown under bus, after bus, after bus, and still, 53,000 financially BACK££££ the most corrupt custodians that, Celtic FC hasvever had.

YOU DID THAT….YOU…53,000….WALKED OFF THE PITCH….LEAVING AULDHEID ON HIS OWN

SO THAT….YOU…53,000….COULD LAUGH AT SEVCO/RANGERS…BUT THE LAUGH

YOU…53,000…HAVE UTTERLY DESTROYED THE INTEGRITY….THE LAST REMAINING SHREDS OF INTEGRITY…HAVE BEEN SOLD OUT BY CHEAP PUNK CELTIC SUPPORTERS WHO SLEEKITLY….TRY, TO DINE OUT ON THE REPUTATION GAINED BY PRE-1994 CELTIC SUPPORTERS, NOT YOU, 2016+, YOU BOUGHT THE LIE, THE OLDFIRM £49 LIE, LIKE YOU WAVED £20 NOTES AT GRETNA SUPPORTERS IN 2008, WHEN GRETNA FANS HAD JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT THEIR CLUB WOULD BE LIQUIDATED AND, YOU, SO CALLED, CELTIC SUPPORTERS, MOCKED THE SUPPORTERS OF GRETNA FC. FKN GRETNA?? YOU 2022 CELTIC SUPPORTERS KNOWINGLY FINANCIALLY BACK££££ A CELTIC PLC WHO CAN’T EVEN FACE CH4NEWS ABOUT BOYS CLUB ABUSES LETTING THE COWARDICE STINK OUT THE CLUB, GIVING THOSE WHO DETEST US, AN ARSENAL OF PROPAGANDA WHICH THEY COULD BARELY HAVE DREAMED ABOUT??

What a mess that your lazy, weak, bandwagonizm, has left in its wake….what a mess.

  12. I find Gallacher an apologist for terrible refereeing , I pay no attention to his comments, he is a former referee who knows who butters his bread[Sky TV] and will act accordingly, and he does always. I couldnt care less he is from Irish stock and has an inclination to Celtic.

According to Sky the big issue from yesterday was bog roll getting thrown onto the park at Dens park

  13. Perfect view from our comfy seats in the North stand , as clear a sending off as you will ever see. No debate , managers who come out afterwards and try and justify this just come across as morons … better to just fess up didn’t see it properly or you may overtake Robbie Neilson as the biggest tosser in post match comments…

…. The ref couldn’t control a weans party and his lack of control which was clearly detectable from the comfy seats …. Allied to our goals … left the County lads thinking they could leave the boot in , got the impression they were a bit pissed at the last result on their patch and equally so from our point of view

  15. Did we complain?

We should complain, especially after a win – but we need to complain if only to protect our playing staff and to keep the MIBs as honest as we can possibly hope.

I expect to be cheated by bent scoddish huns but I also expect us to make things as difficult for thems as possible.

    HHH.

  16. Check out the superb goal from Castagne 17 seconds into this clip, and the equally stunning free kick from Madison 40 seconds in. Rodgers wanted to bring Castagne to Celtic Park, but was stymied by Lawwell.

You can’t expect Celtic to complain to the authorities about the refereeing in a game that didn’t involve Celtic. That would open the club to ridicule and rightly so.

  18. Tell them to stick there 700 tickets, also any right minded Celtic supporters shouldn’t go there for safety reasons alone ,also I see them over at GreySkull saying to the SFA they don’t want Collum to ref the 3rd of April game .

    —–

Correct summing-up, in my opinion – nothing need be added.

We have had a share of decisions go our way recently – the Livingston game being a case in point. There were three incidents that might easily have gone against us – they didn’t.

Celtic By Numbers latest piece confirms that ‘honest mistakes’ are not impacting against us in our matches.

Having said all of that – I thought the Morelos penalty at Dundee was pure nonsense – Tav missed it, so it had no bearing on the result

I have said before that, penalties apart, I think Tavanier is the most influential player in the Ibrox team – let’s hope our Japanese ‘buzz bomb’ can keep him more than busy when we visit Ibrox on 2 April.

  20. A wee heads up for any whisky and Celtic fans. Something pretty special and totally unique is in the offing over the next few days.

A reflection of the special fusion of Japanese, Scottish and indeed even Australian has been prepared in very limited numbers to commemorate a very special ‘revolution’ which we are all enjoying this season.

The liquid concept and the dram itself is truly special and crafted as a labour of love. The unique nature of it will make the release of just 2023 bottles very collectable. Pushing the boundaries just as Ange and the team has done all season.

Hopefully it will be a truly celebratory dram for plenty come the 15th May or even the 21st May !

  21. Tom,

I didn’t ask for us to complain about thems mate….

As I have done consistently, I have said we should complain about how we are treated, especially in terms of how the playing staff are treated.

As far your very obvious “ridicule” point, it doesn’t need comment, not from me anyway.

Was a link to Middens “penalty award” posted?

  24. The “700 tickets” will be swiftly & eagerly snapped-up by our away support – even though the 700 is token and makes virtually no impact on the hostile Ibrox atmosphere.

I don’t think Celtic will refuse to handle as it would only exacerbate the situation.

Frankly I am ambivalent over the whole visiting fans thing – it’s merely a sign of the times!
