Read lots yesterday about the vast majority of people in Scotland missing the ‘Old Firm’ games. Trying hard to inoculate myself against any “bravado” I really don’t see this. The edge we used to feel when going into the final minutes of a game needing a goal is no longer there, but I’m really not sure that edge is healthy or necessary.
More than this, I don’t know a single fan from another Premiership club who regrets the liquidation of Rangers, or feels their life is enhanced by the presence of Celtic. Everyone is aware of the harsh reality – we spoil the league.
We do, of course, sell copy, as did the liquidated lot.

I wasn’t born into a Tim family, my Da was not into football, and did everything to discourage me from being a Celtic supporter, not because he was anti Celtic, he told me that we will always be second best in scotland, when I was old enough to understand, it rang true what he had always told me.
We would be cheated every which way, he didn’t want me to be disappointed.

Last time I bought balloons I took six hundred to the last ever game v the dead club (may they rot in hell). That was a pretty windless day and they all bounced about in the upper NS and I don’t think one made it to the pitch. The remaining 400 I took to the game v the wee huns when hoops scored all five. I reckon about half of them were inside FF’s goal at kick off and the big man had to signal the bench to get some geezers wi pins to come and burst them.
Ha ha, another cracking day oot, and much much better than being off oot..

Doc, I saw that on the news, I bet the driver needed clean punders after that. What a lucky escape. Mrs acgr saw it. She flew back from visiting the princess and had an eventful landing at Edinburgh then drove up the road.
I was in Aberdeen today and had to settle for an egg piece for my lunch seeing as I got stood up!!!

P.S. Doc, you made the right decision. Even if you’d made it to ABZ you may have had trouble getting back. I left at 15.50 and there was a lorry jack knifed just south of stonehaven and it took me over two hours to get home. What a day.
