We spoil the league

782

Illustrating the very high regard the business community and people of Barcelona hold Celtic fans, one of the city’s top restaurants, Cinc Sentis have donated lunch for two towards our annual charity causes.

I am assured by our resident food critic (WDH), Cinc Sentis is a fabulous dining experience.  The auction has just gone live – so get a low bid in early – and ends Sunday.  If you’re heading to Barcelona next week, or anytime thereafter, get your eBay bid in here.

Many thanks to Cinc Sentis and WDH.

Read lots yesterday about the vast majority of people in Scotland missing the ‘Old Firm’ games.  Trying hard to inoculate myself against any “bravado” I really don’t see this.  The edge we used to feel when going into the final minutes of a game needing a goal is no longer there, but I’m really not sure that edge is healthy or necessary.

More than this, I don’t know a single fan from another Premiership club who regrets the liquidation of Rangers, or feels their life is enhanced by the presence of Celtic.  Everyone is aware of the harsh reality – we spoil the league.

We do, of course, sell copy, as did the liquidated lot.

Fully agree with every word……we have endured / prevailed, following a long hard struggle against downright racial and religious bigotry for over 100 years, and now that we have a chance to ‘mend the wounds’, and work towards a better society for all, the zombies must not be allowed to ‘resurrect’ their vile hatred…….

  11. Rangers QC tried to argue on his client’s behalf that The Lord Provost’s Ibrox Disaster Fund be used towards any damages awarded against Rangers, and failing this, that the £50,000 contribution Rangers had made be used towards any damages awarded by the courts!

Sheriff threw these submissions out as flawed in that the money in the Fund had been donated for charitable purposes and not to offset damages awarded against Rangers.

‘We spoil the league’ seems a bit blasé yes we bring in the money as the biggest club by far but should we not spoil it with the kind of football we just played against hearts at the weekend and Kilmarnock away to win the league a bit more?

That would be spoiling the fans, that would be a good thing.

I’ve a feeling our bravado is starting to be seen by other Scottish fans the same way as the muck were in the 90s, that’s not a way we should go.

Spoil the league with the kind of football Dundee United seem to do quite regularly these day, do the same tomorrow night and keep it going.

He was mine. That was the second last time I got upset about a player leaving Celtic.

On the subject of memorable gigs. I remember Bow Wow Wow played Tiffany’s and they had two dancers with them Mo and Flo.

They fairly made an impression on me, and also a bunch of shady characters wearing dirty macs. That was a very weird crowd that night.

The only time I’ve been at a gig where middle-age men were fighting to get to the front of the stage.

I know for certain, I will never miss that sick, gut wrenching feeling when they scored and that Sectarian cess pit erupting .

Often wondered how life could be so cruel, on my way home to bed , I should be out partying celebrating another victory, no skulking off home avoiding all human contact when we were beaten .

Of course , I now understand, something we suspected for years, that on a lot of these occasions we were systematically cheated .

I , for one never want to play them in their new incarnation and will not attend if that happens.

Just cannot tolerate their supremacist bigoted support .

To be fair, Macca made me laugh when he said he thought Wallace was probably the best left back at Ibrox.
