It’s two and a half years since Oscar’s dad, Stephen ‘Knoxy’ shared the news he’d just received that his three-year-old son had been diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an apparently rare form of childhood cancer. All the pains and fears of that day, and the years since, came to the fore over the last eight weeks as the disease took hold. Oscar’s battle ended yesterday.
On this day we should acknowledge the enormous work by so many people to get Oscar the treatment he needed, many of whom would never meet him. The treatment cost hundreds of thousands of pounds, a daunting figure, but one which was soon met. Without this fundraising, Oscar would have died in 2012. Instead, he lived, played and inspired many with his enthusiasm until recent weeks. His fantastic “Happy Birthday CQN” video message was recorded just two months ago; a gift to this community.
For now, there are no meaningful words for Stephen, Oscar’s mum Leona, sister Izzie and their family and friends, but we will be there for them in the months and years to come.
This disease, in all its forms, is a curse on humanity. We need more fundraising, more research, more education on its dangers.
Before Sunday’s game against Dundee United you will be able to buy a Celtic FC Foundation badge, to aid work with homelessness in the Glasgow area. Badges cost a minimum donation of £1, a price we can all afford to help our neighbours in most need.

HT has his own time zone.
Pfayr/GCW
Aye very good ya pair of warmers! :-)
Should be in Mchuills by 2:45.
You heard it here first :-)
Oscars untimely death impacted upon us all because he was one of us. With that sad news the U20s result and the delight at that result has been overshadowed somewhat. That’s not to say that their achievements have not been appreciated. For me it was a chink of light on an otherwise dark and depressing day. So thank you Bhoys.
Jobo Baldie…………..Thanks for the response mate, appreciated.
Ht
Are you being escorted today?
Absolutely wonderful tributes to the Wee mhan from the blessed site .
There really are some wonderful people on here.
Truly a privilege to be in such company.
Weefra ….. Keep your spirits up buddy. Hope Mrs Weefra is feeling better today.
TBJ, CRC , Paul 67, Lennybhoy, Cowiebhoy . The things you and many others do on here are just magic.
Your families and the whole CELTIC family is honoured to have you part of us.

For a short time and then I’m being dumped! :-)
You heading in?
HT has never been the same since KC smacked him in the face with the ball … Not just his looks that suffered that day
So in HT land 2:30 means around 2:45 ….. I pity the yoof of today ;)
Yes.
Meeting Lennybhoy at 13:45.
Look forward to meeting up with you both.
TBJ
The yoof might no be able to tell the time but by God do they now know how to avoid a high velocity baw travelling towards them :-)
HT
what time is the other half leaving?
EDB
See you then fella.
Hail Hail
Che
Think about 5 but that’s only if I’m on best behaviour!!
I’ve known HT for twenty four years now and he’s never been fifteen minutes late in all that time;-)))
HT
Cheers Ill cya about 530 then ;-)
EDB
Did you mean escorted by glasgows finest
Burghbhoy
This site has always helped others from day 1 … We might get sh!t stirrers … Hunfiltrators and other reprobates but I doubt the real Celtic ethos will ever leave this place
The late Stevie Reynolds was another who did a lot and I so remember Vmhan running the half marathon bare foot before driving back to Blackpool same night
Obviously the bhoys who did the Glasgow to Belfast bike ride and so many others .. Too many to mention
A sad weekend on here … But … Perspective gained once more
I cried with frustration the night Jorge Cadete’s goal was chalked off,in fact it was the last time I ever set foot in Ibrox for lots of different reasons……
A few beers later,I punched a wall outside a pub that night…My little lady still reminds me of how I used to let my perception of how my team was being cheated affect the ‘bigger things in life’….My hand was swollen far more than my ego for the next few days.
Celtic FC …..I loved you so much then…..and guess I still do…….Can’t wait to see you again……you are one of ‘the big things in life’…..

The avoiding a high velocity baw comment made me think
Instead of the CFC players doing cross bar challenge or destroying your Hollywood smile … Could they not aim for the flare holders in the crowd ;)
GCW
You’re bringing the curtain down on a beautiful friendship!! :-)
Che
She’s just said she’ll make it 8 :-)
TBJ
Magic idea but that’d put Voguepunter at risk :-)
God bless the Knox family at this very sad time and in the months ahead.
Life can be verb unfair.
Important to appreciate the simple things.
I look forward to a challenge v the bookies.
Has always helped in the past when we had a similar tragedy.
So….
Dunfermline have lost once at home to Stranraer in last 18, going back to 1957.
I will have them as a banker at 4/6.
I will avoid Aberdeen as Murderwell have an excellent record there unbeaten in last 10 visits.
Will probably take Sunderland in a double.
Have had 2 successive accums at tens.

HT
Here was me thinking I was supporting you against these outrageous lateness claims :-))
HT
you sure it was a smile?
Really sure?
Just like an ashtray I have my doubts.

Hail Hail!
Morning all.
Yesterday was sad day, but one in which the CQN community came together to remember wee Oscar. I never expected anything less.
God bless him.
See some of you later.
HH!!
Cannae wait to see my Auld Da’s face when I take his Fotie on the Glasgow Celtic Way…..
His big daft smile will light up Glasgow that day.
The big daft smile he used to have when playing dominoes with his pal Murdy,in a Rutherglen boozer.
Boaby Murdoch and Charles Patrick Tully is a tough call for him as the greatest ever Celt, but don’t think he ever played Charlie at dominoes……
Celtic FC……I love you
JJ and ACGR just about to depart for McChuil and the gang. See you all there,
JJ ( and ACGR).
GCW
What time you heading in?
Che
Nope, I’m part of her cunning plan apparently. Be afraid :-)
Lennybhoy
She’s undecided on that one :-)
McChuill and the gang,waheyyyyyyyyyy!
Jungle Jim getting down wi the kids…..
See ya soon,lads.
Morning all on a 12:30 flight to the HOOTENANNY just some Stornoway Black Puddings to pick up !! Looking forward to seeing some new and some familiar faces on what should be a poignant weekend. Hail Hail Hebcelt
Popped in & out over the last day and I’ve found the sense of community both overwhelming and uplifting.
Despite a special boy and family I never knew, I feel part of their family.
Most posters on here are strangers to me yet there is a bond that keeps us together, I’m unable to explain it, but I feel I know many on here and proud to call you friends. Thank you.
Well done to Paul for creating this wonderful vehicle, friendship is a brilliant gift.
Enjoy your day out today knowing friends around the world wait to hear what their pals are up to. Enjoy.

Good Morning CQN.
We have raised around £1,200 after costs from selling the two designs of the CQteN badge.
It may surprise some the Green badges outsold the black badges by 13. Woohoo:-)
Now we have some left, what to do with them?
With Our Wee Hero’s passing we, CRC myself and P67 that is, and have decided we will continue to sell them and the money raised will be used to buils a lasting memorial to Oscar.
CRC will liaise with Oscars family, just to make sure they are happy with any plans made.
So if you are at today’s Hootenanny, please bring and extra fiver, if you can, and by a badge.
Any extra monies will be donated to the Hospice that looked after Oscar.
Any suggestions welcome, for me, a couple of slabs on The Celtic Way.

I am sure she’s not…:)

Hail Hail!
Came in to Glasgow to drop a guitar off for repair .
Stopped in the plum tree for a cup of tea and a bacon butty .
The music ( which i don’t recognise ) is very sombre .
One or two folks walking by … no smiles .
Maybe it’s just my mood but it’s as if Glasgow is in mourning .
Flight from Dublin delayed, will be a bit late for hootenanny but on my second pint sans breakfast so should be on pace!
HT
About half two.
Incredible Hootenany this one was…..,,
Hope you guys enjoy it today….
Wish I was there too…..
