Weeoscar4life Glasgow quiz night

893

The good people running the weeoscar4life campaign have been in touch and asked me to pass on information regarding the appeal and forthcoming quiz night in Glasgow later this month:

“As many of you will be aware the weeoscar4life campaign team have recently been involved in raising the profile of a wee 3 year old boy from Belfast called Oscar. Many of you have kindly supported this initiative by purchasing CQN badges and wee Oscar wristbands and taking part in the “Small Change for US, Big Change for Oscar campaign”, with the money raised all going towards getting Oscar the treatment that he so desperately needs.

The next event that we have organised to help raise the £250,000 required for Oscar’s treatment is a quiz night. This will take place on the 29th September in The Phoenix (Previously Eastenders) on the Gallowgate with a 7pm start.

The quiz will be made up of a variety of questions, 50% Celtic related and 50% general knowledge. There will be raffle prizes and we also hope to have some live music after the quiz has finished.

Tickets are priced at £5 and you can buy as many as you wish for friends and family so long as they are over 18. Don’t worry if you aren’t able to make up a team of 4/5 as we will arrange you into teams before the event. We hope to be able to offer a ‘print at home’ ticket service so that you would be able to simply bring your tickets on the night.

Until then if you can contact us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com then Wecan begin to allocate spaces to those who have expressed an interest.

Thank you once again for your continued support.”

It is sure to be a fantastic night so please book early.

You can continue to read CQN Magazine FOR FREE, or can subscribe for £10 or £20 and our sponsor, Executive Shaving, who offer an enormous range of grooming products, are offering readers a £20 voucher for all £30 CQN Magazine subscribers.

  1. One to cheer up the lurking Huns.

A guy walks in to a kebab shop and is

surprised to see Father Christmas serving behind the counter. “Santa!” he says. “What are you doing working here? Shouldn’t you be up at the North Pole preparing for the big

day?” Santa Claus sighs. He’s really let himself go. The red suit’s got lard and chilli

sauce and bits of lettuce all over it. His apron’s in a mess and he just looks fed up and like he doesn’t want to be serving up kebabs for a living. “Well,” Santa says at last, “the business has gone belly up. With the recession, the credit crunch and all, the toy

industry took a beating. I had to lay off some of the elves, make cut backs in quality and we just lost our competitive edge. Plus we wound up the delivery side and subcontracted out to UPS. But… it didn’t help. The receivers came in, asset-stripped the business and we went into liquidation.”

“Gee,” the guy says. “I’m really sorry; it kind of takes the tradition out of Christmas in a way.” “Yeah,” says Santa Claus and manages a wan smile. “Well enough of me and my woes. What can I get you?” The guy says, “I’ll have a large Donner.” “Sorry,” says Santa. “We’re all out of Donner…….Will Blitzen do instead?”

I’ll do you a speshul offer. If you can hit the top of the pyramid with a medicine ball from two miles out, I’ll Chucky in a wee cruise down the Nile if you pay the askin price, your Maharaja excellence.

Watching the England vs Norway U21s. Thomas playing well, but up against it. It’s all England, and he’s having to get stuck in defensively. Take it easy big man.

  4. BBC Sportsound discuss CG’s statement. Jabba avoids the core issue of were rules broken?

    http://soundcloud.com/celticresearch/traynor-spl-investigation/s-q2sr9

This is important because it leads to the motivation and why Rangers stuck to EBTS even after questions were raised about them. If there was nothing to hide, why hide anything, why take the chance?

Just after that clip JT said something about getting pelters (or words to that effect) for his views.

I guess that like the 3 monkeys typing the complete works of Shakespeare in infinity he was bound to get something right.

  5. Philbhoy - It's just the beginning! on

Don’t be to hard on jabba!

His Celtic readership of his rag is dwindling to nothing, so he he is openly pandering to his hun readers who are effectively keeping him in a job.

He might have kids, or, err, habits to feed, so who amongst us wouldn’t do the same?

I don’t read his paper or listen to his radio programme.

I knew he was a total fud without further convincing.

    Let him stew!

    C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!

  6. I think it was Ernie who had posted ages ago that something like this would happen if the SFA were stupid enough to admit TFOD back into the league.

So does the SFA now become Sevco’s biatch?

scottish football is completely corrupt and disgusting from top to bottom, scottish media is disgustingly cowardly and partisan,

to be honest i cannot see me follwing it much longer, does anyone

seriously want to be part of this vile gang of bigots who cannot

    accept sporting fairness?

Agreed I’m getting to that stage i just can’t be bothered with Scottish football anymore.

  8. Just read the Foreword to Phil’s book from Alex Thomson, brilliant. Think this book is going to be something else.

    Dan

  9. This is from the sfa/ spl statement, one of the conditions of a licence for the newco huns.

    – Sevco Scotland Ltd has agreed to settle all outstanding football debts to other members of the Scottish FA plus clubs under the jurisdiction of other Football Associations –

That reads to me that they have undertaken to pay all football debts, including money for Jelavic and the rest they are due.

They haven’t paid for Jelavic, might get interesting.

  10. Apparently Green is putting this in every match programme from now on…

Money can buy a House…………But not a Home

Money can buy a Bed…………..But not Sleep

Money can buy a Clock…………But not Time

Money can buy you a Book………But not

    Knowledge

Money can buy you Medicine…….But not

    Health

Money can buy you Sex…………But not Love

So you see money isn’t everything and it

often causes pain and suffering. I tell you all

this because I am your Friend, and as your

Friend I want to take away your pain and

suffering. So send me all your money……….

And I will suffer for you.

  11. I am pleased that Paul remains bullish on these Sevco shenanigans. That gives me some confidence that the non-intervention of HMRC and the seemingly foolish and certainly novel transaction of the SPL in selling them Rangers’ history are part of some secret strategic plan to haul in some criminals.

If it was not for that confidence, I would be of the same mind as Gordon J and be asking why they did this amazing deal without getting unbreakable assurances from Sevco as to their liabilities with these “honours”.

I would have been worried that Sevco planned to dishonour their agreed deal and wage Civil War on Scottish football. It is all very well for us to feel smug that they will need to deal with the SPL and accept our sanctions when it comes time for them to consider re-entry to the SPL. But, what if they are considering setting up the SFL as a kind of AFC to the NFC of the existing premier league, a rival conference?

    Although we would have the fan power of the larger clubs, apart from those that would succumb to lodge pressure, they would have more clubs to back them, thirty clubs to our 12, plus they’d have a link with any team trying to enter the Senior set up at an appropriate level, the juniors and Highland League clubs etc;

What if they choose not to try to get back to the SPL, to skirt their jurisdiction by remaining for more than 3 years within an SFL set up and hoping to make that stronger? What if the other SFL clubs backed them as they may be grateful for the financial boost they get from continuing to have Sevco and not losing them to the SPL? They could still get back to Europe, after a 3 year absence, via cup wins and use that fact to claim legitimacy.

Of course, we may expect that EUFA/FIFA may not take kindly to Civil War scenarios within countries but did they ever interfere when countries set up elite divisive leagues like the SPL and EPL? So, on what grounds could they object to the SFL, under Sevco’s influence, going it alone?

As I say, I am glad that Paul is bullish. I suspect he knows a lot more than me. I just have fears that, if it comes down to a war between Sevco and others, including ourselves or our league, there will be partisan lobbying and judgements on behalf of Sevco.

Just to avoid civil disturbance, like.

I hope this bad feeling goes away soon.

  12. Parkheadcumsalford, 19:28

Not quite. They were found to be libel, as it’s a civil case and not a criminal case.

But fret not as there are going to be plenty of criminal cases coming their way once these matters are settled.

What will it take for a backlash to form against the continuing corruption of the game?

The power of Supporters’ Trusts prevailed during the close season, to keep Newclub out of the top divisions.

I believe a similar action is required now…and that includes representatives of our support.

Unless this charade is stopped in it’s tracks, the game will be finished.

It is in Celtic’s interest to ensure that this doesn’t happen.

Green’s Peat style innuendo about certain clubs demands a response.

I’ve had to order more following this shoite tonight ……LOL…!!!!

  22. So either Charles Green has gone completely native, and has had the same logic by-pass that seems to define the Hun supporter, and he truly believes the utter bull in that statement…

…or he has realised that no matter what RFC (ex or present) do; no matter how many rules are broken, no matter how many times they insult the authorities, hell, even if they take the SFA to civil court – the authorities in this country will NEVER confront them. NEVER call them out for this kind of outrageous and frankly dangerous grandstanding.

And if so, then why wouldn’t he push it? He is there to make a buck as quickly as possible. He now realises that he can get every slavering Orc this side of Larkhall onside with no danger of any sanctions befalling his new company.

The SFA and SPL have done the impossible: they have helped create a club even more objectionable and immoral than the old RFC.
