Weeoscar4life Glasgow quiz night

893

The good people running the weeoscar4life campaign have been in touch and asked me to pass on information regarding the appeal and forthcoming quiz night in Glasgow later this month:

“As many of you will be aware the weeoscar4life campaign team have recently been involved in raising the profile of a wee 3 year old boy from Belfast called Oscar. Many of you have kindly supported this initiative by purchasing CQN badges and wee Oscar wristbands and taking part in the “Small Change for US, Big Change for Oscar campaign”, with the money raised all going towards getting Oscar the treatment that he so desperately needs.

The next event that we have organised to help raise the £250,000 required for Oscar’s treatment is a quiz night. This will take place on the 29th September in The Phoenix (Previously Eastenders) on the Gallowgate with a 7pm start.

The quiz will be made up of a variety of questions, 50% Celtic related and 50% general knowledge. There will be raffle prizes and we also hope to have some live music after the quiz has finished.

Tickets are priced at £5 and you can buy as many as you wish for friends and family so long as they are over 18. Don’t worry if you aren’t able to make up a team of 4/5 as we will arrange you into teams before the event. We hope to be able to offer a ‘print at home’ ticket service so that you would be able to simply bring your tickets on the night.

Until then if you can contact us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com then Wecan begin to allocate spaces to those who have expressed an interest.

Thank you once again for your continued support.”

It is sure to be a fantastic night so please book early.

You can continue to read CQN Magazine FOR FREE, or can subscribe for £10 or £20 and our sponsor, Executive Shaving, who offer an enormous range of grooming products, are offering readers a £20 voucher for all £30 CQN Magazine subscribers.

  1. scottish football is completely corrupt and disgusting from top to bottom, scottish media is disgustingly cowardly and partisan,

to be honest i cannot see me follwing it much longer, does anyone

seriously want to be part of this vile gang of bigots who cannot

    accept sporting fairness?

  2. Can’t hear Snyde as I’m presently in Englandshire. Can’t hear it back hame either cos ah never turn it oan.

  3. “Neither the SPL, nor its commission, has any legal power or authority over the club because it is not in the SPL.”

Fine and dandy Mr Green as long as you are happy never playing in that league ever again because if you do fudge promotions this will be waiting for you!

  4. Charles Green’s statement is interesting.

Implicit in the refusal to cooperate is the acknowledgement that dual contracts did exist.

The refusal to cooperate on the basis that there is now a new separate entity is to stoke the flames of an idea that there is some form of witch-hunt against Sevco.

However, as is patently clear from the statements of Duff and Duffer and also Green, they are acutely aware that the notion of a new separate entity ‘inheriting’ titles and trophies won by another entity seems at best implausible and at worst illogical.

Both refer to titles and trophies to rubber stamp in the minds of the average Rankers fan that they remain “ra peeple”.

The trouble is that beyond “‘ra peeple” this notion that they can take credit for these awards is just what it is – ridiculous.

If I purchase a house with contents which include a Victoria Cross awarded to the previous owner, I may have the actual medal but I cannot lay claim to having won it.

  5. Administrators Statement

    WRITTEN BY RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB

PAUL CLARK, of Duff and Phelps, joint administrators of RFC 2012 PLC (formerly The Rangers Football Club plc), issued the following statement today:

“I can confirm that the business and certain assets of RFC 2012 PLC – including the honours won by the Club – were acquired by Mr Charles Green’s consortium as part of the sale and purchase agreement.

“The SPL have been in contact with RFC 2012 PLC with regard to the SPL’s Commission which is examining Rangers’ historic use of EBTs. However, having taken legal advice, it is the Joint Administrators’ opinion that the SPL is not able to pursue RFC 2012 PLC in this matter.

“The SPL have stated that the Commission is empowered to review the use of EBTs under the contract between the SPL and its member club. RFC 2012 PLC no longer has a contract with the SPL and therefore the SPL has no jurisdiction over it.

“This has been communicated to the SPL and considering that further involvement in this matter is not in the interests of its creditors, RFC 2012 PLC will have no further involvement with the Commission.

“Our primary role as Administrators was to rescue the business which has been achieved by Charles Green and his consortium and whilst any sanctions the Commission may levy will not affect RFC 2012 PLC this process would not appear to us to be helpful to the ongoing revival of Rangers.”

    WTF???

If Duff and Phelps are saying the Huns are the Huns then we have to just accept it!!!

    Aye right!

  8. Ahhh, the Lance Armstrong (non) defence.

Maybe Lance is at his accountant setting up Sevco Armstrong, then he’ll sell the Lance Armstrong licence to a Sevco Armstrong, shutdown Lance oldco and continue untouched.

They can’t investigate Lance Oldco cos Lance NewCo bought the history and they have a legal purchase document listing all those Tour de France titles – genius!

  9. Administrators Statement

    WRITTEN BY RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB

What exactly are we to make of that odd second line? It makes it seems as if the Duffers are reading a statement with a hooded mujahadeen standing over them…

  10. So Sevco purchased the titles. lol!

F***ing Zombie huns and that has been confirmed straight from the horses mouth.

Rangers Football Club have 54 titles, remind the name of the current mob.

    THE Rangers Football Club.

  11. ibleedgreenandwhite…

How interesting that the Duffers say “certain” assets were purchased by Green.

Rather begs the question: which asset(s) didn’t he buy?

    Cough-Ibrox-Cough!

  12. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any funnier, along comes Charlie with his latest mutterings from “Charlie’s World” – bless!

As others have already said, it is so full of nonsense that you don’t quite know where to start ripping it apart.

The SFA and SPL have brought this on themselves – they have created a monster, allowed it to run wild and now its turned on them – just like Frankenstein’s monster – and we know how that ended!

Off out for more popcorn and settle down for a comfy seat as the next episode is just about to start…lots more to come this week.

  13. You bought the trophies and the titles?

Nae bother Mr Green, then you also bought the debt, the liabilities and the responsibilities also!!!

  15. If Chuck bought all those titles, should we be worried about someone making a sneaky bid for our European Cup?

Has Lawwell got it tied down on a five-year contract yet?

  16. Chucky is a gangster. End of.

Now, with that statement from his shifty legal eagle compatriots to back up his gunslingin’ assertions, it’s all ‘bizness as yoozhooal’ for the clowns. When is uefa going to step in, as the sfa is proving itself incapable, neutered, impotent and cowed by the craven need to pander to one club and one club only…..the one that’s battering them stupid, each and every day they ontinue to spout their confrontational bilge.

They were lucky to be INVITED into the 3rd. Div….but there they go, goosestepping their way around as ever, sneering at all with arrogant contempt; unrepentant and dismissively intimidating. Rats with attitude.

    Where’s that pitchfork?

  17. Chuck Green sure knows how to please his flock. Flaws flaws & more flaws.

Just heard Jabba on shortbread saying he “is bored of it all now”,he then comes out with

a peach ..” if they cheated that much why did they only win 5 titles”.Frightening.

Shame Cosgrove & Spence were not on the show as he takes liberties with the rest.

  18. Splendid. Finally admission that the newhuns are not the same entity as the oldhuns.

Oh, and the spl who presented trophies to the oldhuns, are not legally entitled to decide whether they should have been awarded in the first place, ‘cos they‘ve now been bought by the newhuns.

This is as good as watchin’ a terry butcher divin’ header sail past chris woods into the top corner at CP.

  19. So it is possible for a newco to buy the history and trophies of an oldco, but NOT be liable for the debts of said oldco?!

You want the history and ‘honours’? Fine – pay your dues then! Simple!

    HH!!

  20. …………….I’ve just bought the Dryburgh Cup and the Charity Shield……….I’m lookin’ for a third……….perhaps I should ask “Hughie”…….

  21. Well said Brian and Stephen on clyde.
