‘WE’LL BE 100 PER CENT READY FOR DONS,’ INSISTS AJER

CELTIC’S teenage defender Kristoffer Ajer insists the champions will be “100 per cent” ready for the trip to Aberdeen at the weekend.

The Norwegian believes the Hoops will rise to the occasion after last night’s 3-0 disappointment against Zenit St Petersburg in Russia that saw the Parkhead men make a Europa League exit.

He said: “Now our aim is Aberdeen on Sunday and we will recover well.

“They have been really good the whole season, so it will be a tough game and we need to be 100 per cent ready.”

Reflecting on last night’s flop, the 19-year-old centre-back said: “We travelled with the aim of going through and we felt during this game we could have scored a goal and that’s what we needed.

“So, it is disappointing to concede three, but it is a learning experience.

“It is good to learn at this level, but we want to perform better, as well. We can learn a lot from this game.

“We didn’t start well and they scored early. To be fair, they put up a really good set-piece and blocked off me and Jozo Simunovic and Ivanovic was free.

“It was difficult but we should do better. It was a tough night.”
