JAMES FORREST insists Celtic will be even stronger in the Champions League qualifier a week tonight following their 3-0 first-leg win over Alashkert in Armenia.
The winger, who claimed a season’s best haul of 17 goals in the last campaign, got off the mark in the scorching conditions of Yerevan last night with the second strike to add to Odsonne Edouard’s opener.
Callum McGregor brought down the curtain on a professional performance with the third goal in the fading moments after being set up by the Scotland international.
Forrest said: “We finished the game strongly when we got two goals. I think we could have scored another couple as well, so I’m glad we kept the clean sheet and we will take that into next week and I think we will be stronger, as well.
“Naturally, we realised how hot it was going to be.
“We couldn’t play the way we normally do, but I think that was good for our confidence, to show we can go out in different conditions and play good football.
“So, of course, it was good to get the three goals to take into next week.”
