CELTIC striker Moussa Dembele is adamant the champions will be ready for the Europa League knock-out stages in February.

The Hoops sealed their place in the last 32 of the competition, despite their 1-0 home loss to Anderlecht.

Dembele, who took a knock against the Belgians, was disappointed Brendan Rodgers’ outfit didn’t end their Champions League campaign with a bang, but says the players will be good to go next year.

He said: “The positive thing is we have Europa League and that is the thing to take away from us.

“It wasn’t the best game for us, but we have qualified. We just had a lack of quality. We just didn’t play our football and that’s what cost us.

“We have a lot to look forward to and we have a few months to prepare for that and be ready for it.

“We just need character. When you play against a high-level opponent, you really need to make sure you want the ball every time and create chances, and when you do that, you have to score from them.

“That’s what we have to learn from it, but I’m sure we have the quality for that.

“We did our best to try and do something and it didn’t happen, but we have to stay focused and work hard for the Europa League.”
