‘WE’LL COPE WITH INJURY SETBACKS,’ SAYS KT

CELTIC have enough depth in their squad to deal with the injuries to Craig Gordon and Leigh Griffiths.

That’s the verdict of left-back Kieran Tierney following the 1-0 win over Hibs at Parkhead yesterday.

Griffiths scored the only goal of the game in the 27th minute, but limped off with a calf injury shortly afterwards while Gordon didn’t reappear for the second-half after a collision with ex-Celt Efe Ambrose.

Tierney said: “When Craig punched it I was just trying to run for it and I just saw both of them down.

“Unfortunately, Craig had to come off and and, hopefully, he isn’t too bad.

“Leigh gives you energy. He will chase everything and he’s a great player who gives his all for the team and you saw that against Hibs.

“It was a clinical finish from a hard angle. I am obviously disappointed he is out with his calf, but, hopefully, it’s not too long.

“Whoever steps in, we believe in them. Everyone is the squad have proved their worth before and that’s why you have a big squad as at times you are going to need it.”
