CELTIC have recalled on-loan defender Stephen Welsh from Motherwell, a move CQN suggested in October.
The former Scotland Under-21 international has cut short his temporary switch at Fir Park to return to the champions, according to Sky Sports.
Martin O’Neill has made this move for Welsh, who has made 17 appearances for the Fir Park club, while there are little signs of Cameron Carter-Vickers returning this season.
The Hoops also have injury concerns over Alistair Johnston and on-loan Marcelo Saracchi while Hayato Inamura has joined Tokyo FC on a short-term deal and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey ended his stay at Parkhead to go back to Manchester City before moving onto Cologne.

DOWN AND OUT…crocked Cameron Carter-Vickers could miss the rest of the season.
Interim gaffer O’Neill knows he needs to strengthen his defensive options and it makes sense to recall Welsh, who has impressed in Jens Berthel Askou’s side and has reportedly attracted interest from Aberdeen.
The 25-year-old back-four performer will go straight into the Hoops squad for Wednesday’s Premiership encounter at Falkirk.
Left-sided Auston Trusty had been playing in central defence before Wilfried Nancy created confusion with his new formation during the French flop’s six defeats in his disastrous eight-game, 33-day stay in the hot seat.
The American international returned to partner Republic of Ireland stopper Liam Scales in a more recognisable line-up in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Dundee United at Parkhead.
Welsh will welcome the chance to make up for lost time after making just two appearances in the first half of last season before his switch to Belgian side KV Mechelen.
With Brendan Rodgers planning to give game-time to young Dane Murray this time around, Welsh moved to Fir Park in late August.
Now he is on his way back to complete some unfinished business.
