“It’s down to our hard work and dedication. The gaffer wanted us to lose body fat, to eat pasta and normal foods and to work hard in training with lots of energy.
“Everyone has looked after themselves and we’ve had very few injuries apart from the odd hamstring pull.
“We’ve all been ready to go whenever the gaffer has asked us to be ready.”
He said: “We were 2-0 down and the gaffer changed tactics at half-time and we got it back to 2-2, lost another to go down 3-2, but then won 4-3.
“We knew that if we went out in the second-half and played we could do it. It was the worst first 45 we had played and the gaffer let us know that.
“He was so calm and collected and the way he changed things worked. He gets paid to do that and he does it brilliantly.”
Wary Brown dismissed talk of 10-in-a-row and added: “Let’s see how next season goes.
