‘WE’RE FULL OF SPIRIT,’ 3-GOAL SINCLAIR

CELTIC hat-trick hero Scott Sinclair is looking forward to adding to his goal haul in the Glasgow derby at Ibrox on Saturday.

The Hoops forward fired in three in the 4-3 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie yesterday to take his strike rate to nine for this campaign.

Sinclair, who cost £4.5million when he joined from Aston Villa in August 2016, claimed 25 in his first season and 18 last time around.

Now on 52 goals for Brendan Rodgers’ side, the flamboyant Englishman notched his second trio for the team following his three in the 5-0 win over Hearts at Tynecastle on flag day in April 2017.

He said: “It’s great for my confidence that I’ve got a hat-trick, but most importantly that we got the three points.

“We dug deep and we played well as a team. We’re full of spirit. The win can only give us confidence.”

Celtic have won 10 and drawn two of their 12 meetings with the Govan outfit across the Premiership and two domestic Cups since Rodgers became manager, scoring 31 goals and conceding just six.

They have won all four previous encounters at Ibrox during that period.

Sinclair hopes to keep that 100 per cent record intact on Saturday with the seven-in-a-row champions three points ahead of Steven Gerrard’s outfit with a game in hand.

The 29-year-old attacker added: “You can see the table’s tight. At the top, there’s only room to improve and to keep doing well and to keep winning.

“It’s going to be a challenge. It’s up to us to go there, play our normal game, create chances and make sure we do get the three points.”
