WE’RE READY TO GIVE IT OUR ALL,’ VOWS MULGREW

1

CHARLIE MULGREW has told his Scotland team-mates they will have to be at their very best against Slovenia in their final World Cup qualifier tomorrow evening.

Gordon Strachan’s men need to follow up Thursday night’s win over Slovakia with another three points in Ljubljana to keep their World Cup play-off dream alive.

But the former Celtic defender, now with League One side Blackburn Rovers, insists tomorrow’s opponents will be desperate to scupper the Scots’ hopes.

Mulgrew said: “It will be a hard game. International matches are always difficult and this one away from home will be no different.

“But we’re going to give it all we can to try and get a good result.

“We’ve got our fate in our own hands. We knew coming in to these two matches we had to win the both of them and that is still our focus.

“Tomorrow’s game will be up there with the biggest games I’ve ever played in.

“It’s massive – but we will play the game and not the occasion. We won’t spend too much time thinking about what the game means to us.

“Instead, we’ll just play the game as it unfolds and, hopefully, we can do the business.”
