In time we will forget, but for much of Celtic’s 0-9 win at Tannadice earlier this season, Dundee United held their own and forced the champions off their game. An early Kyogo goal provoked United into action. It was Kyogo’s second, on the 40th minute, that did the damage. Before the break it was 0-4.
That game was Jack Ross’ seventh and final game in charge and eclipsed their 0-7 reversal in Alkmaar two weeks earlier. In the vernacular, United ‘chucked it’. We could expect a change in attitude when, after the players got their way, they arrived at Celtic Park in November. The visitors levelled on 87 minutes, only to be denied a point by the team that never, ever, chucks it.
Since the World Cup break, United have lost only once in six outings, a home defeat to Newco. That run took them off the bottom of the table; they are now tied on 20 points with Kilmarnock and Motherwell, three above Ross County.
Fully rested and in great form, I expect no problems for Celtic on Sunday. United can look back on their early season woes and comfort themselves with the fact that at least their 7-1 aggregate hammering came to the team currently second in the Dutch league, whereas another Scottish club had the same outcome over two games against the fifth-place Eredivisie side.
Paradise Pit Stop
Every now and then the Celtic FC Foundation, YOUR Foundation, does something that stops me in my tracks. With the cost-of-living crisis having such an effect, from next week they will open the doors to Celtic Park lounges on Monday and Thursday evenings, when volunteers from the club and Foundation will serve food, provide warm shelter and facilities for kids to play and study.
Celtic cannot solve the problems of poverty, but opening their doors twice a week to provide warm food and shelter to the needy is an incredible act which reflects our founding principles. If you are involved in this, well done. If you can only contribute monetarily, your efforts are invaluable.
What a club, what a support. Just incredible.

1. Tav Pen to Sevco – Standard.
2. Red card to an opposition player – Standard.
3. VAR possible red card against Sevco player, no red – Standard
It’s all very well pundits pointing out that referees have got decisions wrong.
What they need to do is highlight the fact that one club is getting the benefit of the wrong decisions, consistently week after week.
Even Beale admitted that they were the beneficiary of Collum’s ‘mistakes’ today.
And BBC Scotland start the end of their Sportscene programme with Armed Forces abseiling frae the Hate factory roof……
It’s mean’t to be only about Sport.
Seriously WTF.
Today’s referee is money obsessed, he’s been banned before by the huns, and accepted by the SFA ,he was doing Championship games then, and made it known he wasn’t happy with the drop in matchday income……i don’t think he will ever put himself in that position again….as is getting proved particularly since VAR came in

Who do you think will do that, other than Celtic?

Interesting debate about the red card….
Willie Collum did not give any card at first…. then one minute later ( whilst Jack is getting treatment)
the stadium screen says
VAR
DECISION
” *RED CARD* ”
Serious Foul Play
Willie Collum then issues a Red Card…
Michael Stewart sums up the issue perfectly
“If VAR are saying that’s a red card , he should have gone to the screen,
he didn’t.
… if it was his own decision, solely,
why did it come up on the screen saying it was a VAR red card decision?
“By the way , whatever it was it was the wrong call, it shouldn’t have been given”
———————-
The process that led to the two card incidents needs to be pursued….
We now have a VAR implementation which is the equivalent of what became known as “Dougie Dougie gate”
Bizarre, …
but not surprising.

*Callum Davidson rips into 3 Rangers decisions as St Johnstone boss seethes at Willie Collum*
Rangers won an early penalty, saw opponent Nicky Clark sent off but managed to keep Ryan Jack on the park.

St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson let rip at ref Willie Collum by claiming he got THREE huge calls wrong at Ibrox.
Rangers were awarded an early penalty when the ball struck defender James Brown’s hand in the box. Saints striker Nicky Clark was then sent off before half-time after a challenge on Ryan Jack. And moments later, when Jack scythed down Adam Montgomerie, Collum only dished out a yellow card – despite checking the VAR monitor.
Davidson was so livid on the touchline that he was booked by the whistler. St Johnstone eventually lost the game 2-0 after James Tavernier scored the spot kick and Glen Kamara sealed the points for Rangers. But afterwards, the Saints gaffer was furious with Collum’s display. He said: “I think Nicky’s one is harsh. He was getting fouled originally and lost his balance as he went to ground. Jack has actually come into him at force, not the other way round.

“So I just don’t get it, I don’t understand it. It was a really big decision and I don’t think it’s a red card. The tackle on Adam is late, at speed and with force. Willie has gone to check it, seen the replay where Jack has gone straight leg studs at Adam’s ankle – and it’s only a yellow card.
“That sums up the game. Normally when you go over, it’s a red card but the less I say about it the better.
“It’s a tough place to come with 11 men, never mind 10. I was surprised Willie didn’t go to the screen for Nicky’s one. That’s what VAR is for, isn’t it? I’m unsure as to how they interpret things in the rules. I genuinely thought it was a foul on Nicky.
“I had a wee strop on the side, that’s why I was booked. I just chucked a bottle but I was frustrated at a few things going on. Little things were irritating me, as well as a couple of big decisions. As for the penalty Rangers got, it’s a rule we have to change.
“James’ hand is up but it has deflected off Connor Goldson’s back from half a yard away. I’m not sure what he’s meant to do. There is no intent to handle it. We have to be a little bit sensible as big decisions in games are affecting the outcome. We have to look at the handball rule at the end of the season.
Despite back to back defeats to Rangers in the Scottish Cup and Premiership, Davidson was delighted with the character his side showed in both games. He said: “I’m really pleased with what we’ve shown in the two Rangers games. We tried to do a lot of good things today. We didn’t fold and this is a tough place to come. We’ll dust ourselves down and we’ve got bigger games coming up.”

Celtic raised concerns after just two or three games see Michael Nicholson. St Johnstone (funnily enough) already asked for clarification of the hand ball rules before today’s decision.
Why do you think Celtic will not do anything?

Jock Stein’s life work.
Incredible.
Ange has talked about his Lifes work.
This is a Club where he most certainly can do that, especially as we are cheated every game Domestically.
Contradicting myself I Know, it is not fair on Every Fitba Club in Ecosse that they are getting screwed for the sake of wan Embarrassment of a NEWClub.
Fcuk off.
High winds the morra keep the ba’ on the Deck.
Celtic Dawn, Dolphin & Smiddy are not known for their cuisine unless you consider crisps and nuts in that category. 😁
Plenty around the area to go eat before game. I’d do Celinos which is between both pubs. But phone and book.
Enjoy

its a wee bit embarrassing admitting whit happened 2013 I think on Glesga Green.
Sorry bhoys and ghirls, the SMSM will never call out VAR favouritism.
If the Huns were reffed fairly there would never be a “title race”, they would be battling for second spot and the Old Firm golden goose would be dead.
It’s not going to happen.
What needs to happen is the didi teams have to grow a pair and realise they could challenge for second if they weren’t cheated every week e.g. Hearts didn’t play at at Ibrox today, but they were cheated. If Aberdeen get their act together, they’d realise they are being cheated in attempting to finish second.
Celtic can only do so much. Unfortunately the solution lies with the didi teams.
Ye get what you pay for
And this. Is what we pay for….
