What a missed opportunity

347

The morning after Ferencvaros reached the Champions League group stage at Molde’s expense, after counter-attacking their way to a win at Celtic Park does not feel any more satisfying than it would be if they were eliminated.  The Hungarians will find the ‘real’ competition devastatingly difficult, but they will console themselves with more money than they could dream of a year ago.  Money that could have been ours.

The solution to our pandemic crisis lay in our own hands.  What a missed opportunity.  October will bring difficult and consequential challenges, Celtic need to use the pain of this failure to ensure that on Hallowe’en we’re not looking back on what might have been.

    It’s Tombola Team Time……

As per, the balls for Brown, Christie, McGregor and Duffy have been heated.

As for the rest, where it stops, nobody knows…

  4. Morning Bhoys from a beautiful sunny morning in Wemyss Bay 😎 unlike yesterday when you could’nt see the ferry never mind Rothesay ! MELBOURNE MICK , saw you mention Faslane earlier there’s been quite a few naval boats about this morning , I believe there’s an NATO exercise or something going on, btw the cow jokes are a load of bull ! 🐂

Ajax — you have certainly not dealt with he “issue”.

You have offered your opinion on that club and why you consider any comparison with us not to be correct.

To repeat your opinion which was welcome but to myself was limited / partial / slanted — to the point of being forced.

For the record I think that Ajax are a very good comparator club to us.

I would suggest that they are us done well — we are them done badly — two sides of the same coin.

Big team in a small league trying to re-live former glories.

We were big in Europe for 8 seasons in our pomp.

They were big in Europe for 5 seasons.

Their attempts to match this success have been better than ours.

That is to our shame and we need to do something about it.

One place to start would be CEO wages — I think we would win that game.

Consequently fewer excuses and more ambition.

    Porter was right about clusters.

If you stand alone it is all to easy to accept failure.

  6. I worked in the Engineering Services Department at Fasline from 1969 to 1971 and was given the chance to go out for the day in a submarine.

We boarded a small boat at Coulport and headed out to the middle of the loch. The submarine surfaced and we had to clamber down into it. The submarine then submerged and we spent a few hours under water. ‘Highlight’ was viewing Rothesay etc from the periscope. Fire 1.

It was very boring. Visit the engine room at the back (aft), visit the torpedo room at the front (fore), look through the periscope, do a few surface/ submerge routines, back to base.

Do you mean the `clip` that last 15 minutes short of two hours or is there another one?

  11. HOT SMOKED on 1ST OCTOBER 2020 11:00 AM

I was referring to the 2/3 minute clip of the doctor being surprised by the Lisbon Lions and (then) current celtic team. It was near the end… I didn’t even notice the other one – apologies if I wasted your time!

  12. Seven hours and 24 minutes before KO and there has been one post in 38 minutes. Do we no longer care about the EL ( or is everyone listening to Frank Terry`s clip ? ).?

  13. FT

Yo qwere just waiting for me to post that, weren`t you ? :-))

I`ll have a look at the clip you meant.

  14. Let me guess.

A circuit break in Scotland will incorporate the 17th October.

CQNrs too busy researching player’s and manager’s full names, including middle and saint’s names, and family histories forfear of offending posters of the more sensitive persuasion…

    Oh aye

  16. Frank T

You are right. Amazing. I was commpletely unaware of that. What a gesture. What did Mr Chesketts do to deserve such a response?

everyone has pre match nerves so its stifling their ability to post (and probably my ability to spell ‘stifling’)

though im not nervous about it

im super confident we will do it because when the team gets announced i know the midfield wont be

    forrest brown mcgregor christie

which is a failed european midfield

  18. Sorry, Mr Checketts. Celtic can send two generations of teams down to meet you and I cannot even spell your name correctly !

To be honest I have no idea. Whatever it was he’s obviously done a lot more with his life than I have, i’m lucky if my wife remembers my birthday.
