It is a little more than two months since there was angst over accusations of soiling sheets, and I remember the question, “Would you rather have lost the cup final and won on the 29th?” Progress in football is not linear. Even for the imperious (that’s us), it has regular defeats and disappointments.
We cannot cope in West Lothian, taking a solitary point from two visits, and lose concentration against Cluj and Copenhagen, but eliminate Rennes and Lazio, both flying high in top five leagues. Step back and you see the big picture, a year on from Neil Lennon parachuting in as caretaker manager, Celtic are playing their best football in three years. There is confidence in the future and hope of even better to come.
As a consequence of Tom Rogic’s late equaliser and the utterly hilarious disintegration of the ‘Let’s go’ manager at Ibrox, we can relax and enjoy the procession to that most remarkable of records: nine-in-a-row. Whatever money Dave King has left to invest in Newco, he could do worse than to put it on Celtic to win the title. His meagre winnings will be welcome when it comes to paying Sports Direct, among others.
Now it is all about St Mirren, our next biggest game of the season and a chance to go 16 points clear. Bring it on.

I think that before we get games postponed we will see playing behind closed doors. There is always UEFA demanding closed doors games, a £2.5m gatemoney hit per game.
The Masons in distress will ensure the games are all paid

Hello again all you young rebels.
G’day to all you happy hoopy ghuys and ghals from a rain soaked
Melbourne suburbs, weird weather all round this year.
Our young under 17’s play a pre-season friendly this Sunday up at
Chelsea, stiff test for mostly new kids we’re trying to mould into a
team, as all our championship winning side have moved on to bigger
teams,
Some talk here of ground closures and no shaking hands etc. but
try stopping our bhoys of doing the huddle…nae chance.
As for people stockpiling toilet paper wtf ? are they going to wrap
it round themselves like mummies, shops getting emptied as we
speak.
Our clubs big ladies tournament begins this weekend and no sign
the St Kilda Celts?…devastated..don’t know why, maybe one of our
CQN lurkers who helps run them will explain, so just have to support
any ghirls team playing in Green lol.
And a wee plea to Lenny before i go hurtin hun hunting.
Please force Broony to have a rest this Sunday, really need him to be
champin at the bit when we go to crumbledome.
H.H . Mick
p.s. Will this be another weekend without GFTB? c’mon Gerry you know
you want to.
I’m no good at working out what way games go after the split etc (and can’t be bothered working it out myself) but is it really possible we will play five of our games at home?
Yours Sincerely

Perhaps a naive question from me in Spain, but at a time of year when 1000s of people suffer from heavy colds and the flu, what makes people think they have coronavirus? Is there something different about it? A telltale sign that is unique to it? everyone now assuming the worst as soon as they get a fever?
If for most people the symptoms are mild, then surely most people won’t bother going to A&E so no reporting of it? If you sneeze and cough now are people running away? Struggling to make sense of it all.
DeniaBhoy
Struggling to make sense of things is one of the main symptoms of Corona virus!
(Only kidding) -))
I’ve had it for years then.

Symptoms start with a fever, then dry cough and then problems with breathing a while later.
Only really know if you’ve got it by getting a swab taken and tested. So you’re right that many people will not refer themselves for testing – they might not think they have anything other than another strain of flu..
they might not think they have anything other than another strain of flu..
Which is what they have,
In Ireland, If you suspect you might have the virus, the advice is you isolate yourself within your own home & phone your regular Doctor. He or she will first talk you through your condition etc and if he/she feels you might have a problem will arrange for a test to be taken.
You don’t under any circumstance present yourself at A&E.
Seasonal flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year, according to a new estimate that’s higher than the previous one of 250,000 to 500,000 deaths a year.
The new figures from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other groups were published Dec. 13 in The Lancet medical journal.
The updated numbers, which do not include deaths during flu pandemics, are based on more recent data from a larger and more diverse group of countries than the previous estimate, the CDC said.
The data came from 33 countries that have 57 percent of the world’s population and had seasonal flu numbers for a minimum of four years between 1999 and 2015. That information was used to create an estimate of flu-related respiratory deaths in 185 countries worldwide.

Brilliant thanks for clearing that up

Natknow – thanks. When govts are prepared to shut down towns and cities, when companies are shutting down offices and factories, then I start to get worried – they generally put the economy and profits first. Something has them spooked and it can’t just be the thought of a few thousand pensioners dying.
Although for some, that in itself would be no bad thing – easing the pensions burden they are all facing. Maybe explains why Boris and Donald seem so blase about it.
Any suggestion the league will be voided is delusional nonsense spun by Sevcoites.
A responsible, professionally run football league will look at ALL the factors, particularly the numbers of games already played (approaching 80%).
They’ll consult sponsors, clubs, fans groups and the government.
They’ll impact assess the reputational damage of voiding the season.
And, most importantly, they’ll consider the huge fallout of denying the runaway leaders a truly historic title.
Then they’ll award the title to Liverpool.
The SPFL will then breathe a huge sigh of relief having avoided the need to make a decision and follow the precedent set by the English Premiership.
Hail hail
Keep The Faith
The SPFL make a schedule based on a guess about how the table will look prior to the split
If the Top 6 matched their guesstimate everything would work out having played 19 home 19 away.
Each team in top 6 would play each other twice home, twice away.
Unfortunately for them teams like Hearts have a disastrous run and end up in bottom 6.
Livingston get in to top 6 and the plan gets shredded.
The rules are set that the post split games may mean a 3rd away visit ( or a 3rd home tie ) with one of the Top 6 .
There is also the possibility that in extreme cases a team may end up with 20 /18 or 18/20 Home/ Away games.
However there is one rule that trumps all , there must be 2 Glasgow Derbys at Celtic Park and 2 at the Death Star.
If the Huns make the top 6.

RESULTS FROM GAME #42 – LIVINGSTON 2 CELTIC 2 (McGREGOR, ROGIC)
The last of my 3-results-whilst-in-Lanzarote tour and, again, just the headline results. But I have to say, the results from the games since I came away have been most acceptable – we reached the semis whilst some others didn’t and we extended or lead in the league by a point. It’s been a great holiday! I only caught the first 25 minutes of the Livingston game so I personally didn’t vote. But thanks to the 53 who did. Results as follows –
Forster: 0
Ajer: 4
Jullien: 0
Bitton: 37
Forrest: 7
Brown: 5
McGregor: 49
Christie: 2
Taylor: 0
Elyounoussi: 0
Edouard: 38
Frimpong: 11
Rogic: 4
Griffiths: 0
So, the players receiving points for the Livingston game are –
McGregor – 5 points
Edouard – 4 points
Bitton – 3 points
Frimpong – 2 points
Forrest – 1 point
It’s getting a lot tighter at the top and the overall points table is now –
1st – Brown – 73 points
2nd – Edouard – 72 points
3rd – McGregor – 67 points
4th – Jullien – 53 points
5th – Christie – 46 points
6th – Forrest – 43 points
7th – Frimpong – 40 points
7th – Ntcham – 38 points
9th – Ajer – 31 points
10th – Elyounoussi – 26 points
11th – Forster – 25 points
12th – Taylor – 22 points
13th – Griffiths – 17 points
14th – Bauer – 14 points
15th – Bolingoli-Mbombo – 13 points
15th – Rogic – 13 points
17th – Bitton – 10 points
18th – Hayes – 8 points
18th – Elhamed – 8 points
20th – Johnston – 4 points
20th – Welsh – 4 points
22nd – Bayo – 3 points
23rd – Morgan – 2 points
23rd – Robertson – 2 points
25th – Simunovic – 1 point
26th – Bain, Gordon, Klimala, Sinclair, Ralston, Arzani, Hendry, Dembele, Shved – all on 0 points
Next up, a 3pm Saturday home game against St Mirren and I’ll be there with a lot more clothes on than I’ve been wearing this past week!!
Hail Hail!
All Leagues will follow the same rules. You couldn’t have the EPL declaring Liverpool Champions & the SPFL declaring their League null & void.
I think if the Government bans large gatherings the first liklihood is games behind closed doors,
Beyond that they could suspend League for a period until things improve.
Maybe even hold it over to beginning of next season & reduce number of games in next League.
Hopefully it won’t come to that.
Closed door matches. Money lost or an opportunity to make some?
Home game.
Let’s say season ticket money is refunded. Money lost.
Food and drink? Do Celtic make money on sales or are the outlets run by 3rd party. Either Celtic would refund 3rd party or lose out on profits. Money lost.
Now. Closed doors surely means the scrapping of the stupid rule that prevents UK based folk from watching the game via Celtic TV. Charge a fiver / tenner per game. Bingo. Money maker.
Don’t have a fag packet handy so I’m just going to guess this could make more that it loses.
All about opinions , but I am ‘astounded of forehead’ that 16 respondents to Jobo did not see the contribution that Biton made to the team.
I suspect Russian interference.
I would have given Nir 2 votes if it was permissible : )
Jobo , thanks for all your efforts.

Good thinking.
You should be an entrepreneur .
Finally watched a rerun of last night’s game. Personally I’d have given Bitton man of the match. But apart from that, the other point scorers were just about correct. 2 more sleeps ;-)
Obligatory late night post. That said it is only 9pm here.
I like wee Greg Taylor. Think he has some stuff to offer us. Big step up for him and I see him a regular there next season as I cannot see us spending on his position again unless Boli was sold at break even levels.
Biton was also one of my picks but I did not see full 90 mins. I shall on Saturday at 10am my time though.
HH!
Good morning CQN from another frozen morning in the Garngad
How long before the Huns come out with the obligatory “wait tae next year, noo that Stevie has been here and knows the score” shoite
Phil Mc is hinting at Mr McGregor being at the centre of the dressing room revolt, seems about right as he is a complete and utter scumbag. Sometimes Stevie bhoy you have to sever the snakes head and get rid of the trouble makers, but I suspect Slippy is working his ticket and just going through the motions.

Its a good question.
The other problem is/will be carriers with mild symptoms saying ‘I’m fine’ and going about their normal business, even hiding it. Do people with mild symptoms pass on mild symptoms? Depends who they pass it on to.
