What money Dave King has left, he should put on Celtic for the title

265

It is a little more than two months since there was angst over accusations of soiling sheets, and I remember the question, “Would you rather have lost the cup final and won on the 29th?”  Progress in football is not linear.  Even for the imperious (that’s us), it has regular defeats and disappointments.

We cannot cope in West Lothian, taking a solitary point from two visits, and lose concentration against Cluj and Copenhagen, but eliminate Rennes and Lazio, both flying high in top five leagues.  Step back and you see the big picture, a year on from Neil Lennon parachuting in as caretaker manager, Celtic are playing their best football in three years.  There is confidence in the future and hope of even better to come.

As a consequence of Tom Rogic’s late equaliser and the utterly hilarious disintegration of the ‘Let’s go’ manager at Ibrox, we can relax and enjoy the procession to that most remarkable of records: nine-in-a-row.  Whatever money Dave King has left to invest in Newco, he could do worse than to put it on Celtic to win the title.  His meagre winnings will be welcome when it comes to paying Sports Direct, among others.

Now it is all about St Mirren, our next biggest game of the season and a chance to go 16 points clear.  Bring it on.

So sorry my friend but I am not very well at the moment, and Ive only been out to go to hospitals and doctors this week using hospital transport.

I also cant drink alcohol either due to medication etc.

I would have enjoyed meeting up before you go and see the Celts, but there is no point in me arranging to meet you, and then by tomorrow I still dont feel well enough ?

Hopefully we can catch up next time you are over ?

    So sorry.

Good, the rubicon is an H10 as well out towards the lighthouse at the south of the island, about a 15minute walk to the town along the seafront

  5. I’m no lip-reader but I don’t see Lenny mouthing H-A-M-I-L-T-O-N in that clip………..the clip also cuts out awfy quick………He could be saying anything.

Hopefully, see Elhamed getting a run out tomorrow .. guys a superb footballer!

Agree give him a run out tomorrow with a view to him starting at the Bigot Dome next Sunday.

I see somebody posted yesterday that sevco should have scored 10 goals on Wednesday, that might well be the case but ‘should haves’ don’t count. Goals count in football and Hamilton scored one and the huns scored hee haw.

This , to me , is a concern.

    First this.

    https://celtsarehere.com/international-pundit-in-celtic-rant-urges-midfielder-to-leave-club/

    Then

    https://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/rogic-urged-to-quit-hoops/

Some of us made mention of Tom`s atypical apparent lack of joy after scoring the other night .

Looks like this is a carefully thought out move on the part of these guys than simply off the cuff remarks.

Hope Lennie is on it .

  10. who is good at maths after the break in january how would placing look now iknow we would be top would the huns be out of a place in europe hh

  11. Just read back –

Big Jimmy – sorry to hear you’re not feeling well – hope things improve.

  12. If a decent offer comes in for Tam then I’d be willing to see him go, he’ll leave a lot of good memories and will be held in high regard.

He recently signed a 5 year deal so he’ll go only when we’re happy with the transfer fee.

  13. I would only let Tom go on 3 conditions:

    1. He really wanted to leave

    2. We received an appropriate fee to fund a replacement

    3. We had that replacement in place (David Turbull for example)

In football things don’t always work that way but Tom is under a long-term deal so we hold all the cards.

Can someone elaborate on the ‘Dubai rumours’. What was supposed to have happened?

  15. Maybe we should be looking at that Campbell guy at Motherwell. He will be off somewhere this summer.

  16. Tom’s next move is highly dependent on getting his dodgy knees through a medical.

I hope he stays and plays a part but in the next couple of years we need to replace him and Broonie from the midfield and unfortunately we’ll see Ollie Ntcham go in the summer too.

  17. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

I’ll be astounded (and annoyed) if Tom and Oli don’t start at Mordor.

    ___

Chris Iwulemo should have scored against Norway but missed the target

Expected Goals is a more telling stat. For example, our xpg against Copenhagen across the two legs was 3.0 and Copenhagen was 2.0

    ____

    That’s true.

A guy who rarely can do 90 mins is a luxury most clubs cannot afford. That’s why I see him staying.

It was just a little joke, calm down.

Not aware of any Iwelumo style misses at Ibrox on Wednesday though, pretty sure they’d have gone, to use a topical word, viral!

    ======================================================================

    Great point.

    Another point.

Managers of clubs are not permitted to ” nobble ” players of other clubs.

Is the OZ assistant manager , with a view to promoting the interests of the national team , permitted to , in essence , nobble one of ” his ” players ?

  23. Tom Rogic, is definitely expendable.

Clarkston at Motherwell, if he proves his fitness over the next couple of months would be the ideal shout in terms of replacement.

Rogic is at the right age to move on now, 27 / 28. As talented as he is, I don’t think he’s a good fit to Lennon’s style of football.

He was a good fit under Rodgers, as it was a controlled based game, pass, pass, pass… and he could get on the ball, on the half turn and influence things.

Under Lennon, our football is a bit more blood n thunder, and big Tam doesn’t have the athleticism to consistently contribute within the 100mph environment.
