Contrary to our earlier understanding, Rangers did not win a ruling from the Court of Session on who was to be appointed administrator, HMRC and Rangers came to agreement on the appointment of Duff and Phelps, who acted for Whyte during his takeover of the club.
The admission by Duff and Phelps that today’s court action by HM Revenue and Customs was in connection to circa £9m unpaid tax accrued since the takeover in May last year will come as a surprise no one in the Celtic Quick News community. This is why Rangers are now in administration, it’s nothing to do with the big tax case, or indeed, the wee tax case.
Key question is, what will HMRC do now? They’re not going away/. Rangers continued to sign football players despite being delinquent with taxes, and briefed journalists that they rejected a £9m offer for a player on 31 August 2011.
The fact that the business is in administration due to activity carried out under Craig Whyte’s tenure may also interest the Insolvency Service, who are already investigating Whyte’s takeover of the club following information passed by former chairman, Alastair Johnston.

In all seriousnes.
When do the players get their contracts torn up ?
I got a mail earlier saying that naybalance will be one of the first to go, would that be right ?
Jeezo, I am loving this, and the media think we want them to survive, dearie, dearie me.
The big tax bill, the medium tax bill, the small tax bill.
And now the big house…
Is a pattern developing here?

OK – I understand that they will sell…I’m still unclear (being daft?) how buying clubs can take a player out with the transfer window…are these players exempt?
If yes…Players who will find homes at a bargain price –
McGreggor, Davis – EPL, £2m each
Whittaker, Naismith – Championship £1m each
How much will they get for W. Collum, S MacAuley etc?
Why is Trevor Steven being talked about now? I hope it is real bad. I’m not vindictive. I want them losing titles and civil actions to regain taxes won’t do it. Why are HMRC looking further back into RFC’s dealings? They aren’t going to get £75m so getting the bill up to £125m will hardly help. Are they looking for instances where the players can be found liable?
Cultsboy , Dirtymac.
I believe that dispensation can be granted to players who’s club has gone into Admin to sign for other clubs outside the ‘window’ and start playing , earning immediately.

I’m dying here…lmao…and thanks…

If the players are made redundant do they become free agents and therefore clubs can sign them outside the transfer window?
Cultsbhoy – cant see pay at the gate for them at CP if they survive that long.
Maybe Celtic should just offer a wee reciprocal agreement in the interests of safety –
we wont send any fans to Ibrox and they wont send any to CP.
That should stuff them for another few hundred grand…
dirtymac
Cheers – so players leave Ibrox to wherever but can not play until next season…that clears it up…
Although it is likely that a lot of people will loose their jobs as the Sports Minister was alluding to, but what about all the hundreds of young footballers whose careers were cut short or never got off the ground due to every team in Scotland bringing in foreign players in order to compete with the cheats
and tax dodgers.
Sorry if this issue has been raised before but don’t have the time to read back.
Love the idea of The Bunnet raising the flag.
PS Brian Quinn should also be there.

I loved the fat gruffalo’s comments on BBC News about the need for the Big Hoose to stay open. It’ll be much needed for all the directors when they end up in jail. I take it he WAS referring to Barlinnie?

That’s just what I was thinking, too many funny comments to keep up with!!
Aye it is a cesspit Timbhoy2, that’s what made me laugh even more at my mates story. Rab’s bars pool table was red white and blue, they refused to play on a green cloth…..

TET – The blood letting will begin tomorrow. I think a few bears will be in for quite a surprise as to what will happen.
scotland tonight on now at stv; more hurting huns surely :)
I know this will not go down well.
But I hope Celtic Supporter’s won’t buy tickets for the next game at Ibrox,
don’t put money into their undeserving pockets.
The League should be ours by then, don’t throw your good money away.
Can our next signing’s squad number be -10!
BontyBhoy – I’m not actually sure that Ticketus are even a creditor, they simply own (I assume without dispute) the revenue created by the next 3 years season ticket sales. But what happens if there are no season tickets to sell?
Imagine a scenario –
-CW secures a pre-sale deal with Ticketus, they deposit 24m into Wavetower accounts on the guarantee that when the sale is successful they have the season ticket rights.
-Wavetower, with 24m in their bank account convince the board they have the credit to takeover the club. The takeover proceeds and they pay off Lloyds debt in return for preferred creditor status on a debt of 18m now to Wavetower.
-Sale goes through and the Ticketus deal is confirmed, as per the pre-sale agreement.
-Rangers go into liquidation, CW claims his 18m debt, Ticketus get nothing as there’s no season ticket sales for a club that doesn’t exist.
-CW walks away with 18m of Ticketus’ money.
Maybe the ruse all along was to create a secured creditor from an investment of zero, and then force liquidation.

At what point did the hun come under investigation?

I have followed Inverness Caledonian Thistle (or plain old Caledonian Thistle as it was in those days) since 1995 and have really enjoyed the highs and lows of the roller coaster ride from the Third Division. During that time, I’ve been lucky enough to follow the team at over 40 league grounds in Scotland, an experience in itself…
But now, if Rangers FC are wound up and a new club is parachuted into the SPL by a combination of cronyism, dodgy commercial dealing, marketing by the mainstream media and unwanted political interference, that journey will count for nothing.
What happens next in the turbulent history of RFC will be a battle of right versus wrong and cheating versus playing by the rules….
The outcome will decide whether I turn my back on Scottish football forever.
If it’s to be a New Rangers, then it has to be in Division 3. Nothing else will suffice.

Has Chic broken cover?
agree. a bhoycott of Ibrox. we can hammer them at CP in front of 60,000 Celtic fans.
