Contrary to our earlier understanding, Rangers did not win a ruling from the Court of Session on who was to be appointed administrator, HMRC and Rangers came to agreement on the appointment of Duff and Phelps, who acted for Whyte during his takeover of the club.
The admission by Duff and Phelps that today’s court action by HM Revenue and Customs was in connection to circa £9m unpaid tax accrued since the takeover in May last year will come as a surprise no one in the Celtic Quick News community. This is why Rangers are now in administration, it’s nothing to do with the big tax case, or indeed, the wee tax case.
Key question is, what will HMRC do now? They’re not going away/. Rangers continued to sign football players despite being delinquent with taxes, and briefed journalists that they rejected a £9m offer for a player on 31 August 2011.
The fact that the business is in administration due to activity carried out under Craig Whyte’s tenure may also interest the Insolvency Service, who are already investigating Whyte’s takeover of the club following information passed by former chairman, Alastair Johnston.

There’s been a few people on here tonight stating that they want Motherwell to get into 2nd place in the league ahead of Rangers.
You must be joking, this is the team that have surrendered to Rangers every time they have met, with Stuart McCall as their manager,Probably with the highest goals total against when playing Rangers.
Any team bar Motherwell in my opinion,in fact,I’d rather see Rangers ahead of that bunch, off chancers,I’ve been hoping Motherwell to get relegated since McCall took over as their manager.I’ll have to go to bed after reading some comments.
Ah well.
Barca score. 2-1
Is Suarez going to the orcs? he fits the bill.

Was the eternal search for a left back under Gordon Strachan. Sad we never got him – a fine player but never mind son.

Channel4 news saying SDM could be stripped of knighthood
Huns sign up a raft of players on enhanced contracts
Whittaker,Davis,McGregor etc…paid for in part by the UK taxpayers
sign Wallace ,Gioan and Bocanegra and a few more duds
don`t pay the PAYE on their contracts
don`t pay VAT
run up £9m of debt in less than a season
HMRC will be guilty of dereliction of duty if they don`t pursue the Huns as vigourously as possible
and the Huns complain about HMRC having a go at them
their self righteousness beggars belief
where has all the money gone……….Whyte`s tenure thus far should be investigated .. knowingly continuing to run an insolvent company

Over and above withholding Payroll tax and VAT to support the business, something many have done before him, Craig Whyte is going to have to stand up to a bigger issue altogether.
During the takeover he was advised by the firm of Insolvency experts Duff & Phelps, now appointed as Adminstrators.
Yesterday he stated:
“From my early days as chairman I saw that administration was a very real option to enable the Club to address these challenges and make a fresh start. Frankly, the case for administration in pure financial terms was compelling”
In the interim, he securitised the income from the sale of season tickets for future years.
In other words, being cognisant of the ‘compelling’ option of Adminstration, he sold goods that, in all of the circumstances, he could have no reasonable expectation of being able to deliver.
Lord Sugar joked earlier today that Bernie Madoff would be an appropriate choice of Administrator for Rangers.
Craig Whyte might very well skedaddle out of Rangers with a tidy profit in the coming months, but I rather expect he’ll be comparing notes on accomodation with Bernie in due course.
This whole business of cheating and unfair advantage shows just how impressive were the successes of Martin O’Neill and Gordon Strachan. Well done you guys.
Sircumcision.
Make it so……….

Daily Torygraph poll on the value of Rankers to SPL
Channel 4 news twitter hears that rangers saviour sir david murray may lose his knighthood after the club go in to administration
I still to this day think that everything has been planned and played out!
Everything absolutely stinks!
I genuinely think everyone connected with rangers old and new know exactly what has been going on and what the end result they seek!
This has been planned!
And people Will make money out this….
Watch for minty riding in to take a all but destroyed Orc pit heading for oblivion in the 3rd division and drag them out of their lowest ebb,
He will then become the hero
Watch this space
Anybody know when tickets for ibrox are released or have they been sold already? know a few folk who could source me some but could be too late if they have been issued, thanks in advance!
Been away for a couple of days amd catching up – like many on here I will only shed tears of joy for the predicament that mob are in. Years of being told we were inferior and being treated like that by the Administrators, Referees etc. An ‘institution’ who –
1. Actively pursued a sectarian signing policy with no pressure applied by SFA, League or Government
2. Removed Eggs Benedict from the menu when the most recent Pope was installed
3. Would not sell green Pepparamis
4. Did not have green straws
That’s how small minded these folk are…….hope they have a long painful death and death rather than just a serious illness seems to be the way they are headed.
Get it right up them.
Hail Hail.
According to follow follow, Rapid are still owed 1.2m for jelavic, final payment was due to be paid this summer.
slightly off topic, but heading over to Thailand with the soon to be mrs Fatman in March for 3 weeks, turns out we’re in Chang Mai for the R@ng£rs game ( presuming they still exist)
Any of you well travelled souls recommend a decent Celtic bar to watch the game and have a couple o pints?
Cheers
What do you get if you cross David Murray with Sean Connery?
Sir Con Hunnery (maybe less of the ‘sir’ in future…)
Quick question Paul (sorry that it refers to a much earlier post of yours today): if MIH had planned to absorb any FTT penalty (c.£50m as widely assumed), why did Sir D and MIH HAVE to accept what the bank wanted, ie. the offer from Mr. Whyte. Surely they could have absorbed the £18m into MIH as they allegedly were going to do if the tax case went against them?
Just found out a good friend of mine (Aberdeen fan and a good guy in every way!) has cancer. Not sure of how far it has spread but it has darkened my mood. For all who can give him a thought and a prayer.
Years ago I was living in somerset and one of his weekly letters contained the following
“I was a judge at a Talent contest at Deans Gala day, A wee boy in a hun strip came up and sang a Rangers song, needless to say he got NIL point”
Sill chuckle whenever I think of that.
He is of the faith, in fact his sister is Nun in Rome, as I say a good guy in every way, well expect for being a sheep ;-)

couldn’t agree more about M/well. Wee mullet McCall on TV the other night talking about being inducted into R@ngers hall of fame as the proudest moment of his life ,tear in eye. And we expect them to give R@ngers a decent game!?
No way would I want M/well to finish 2nd (same goes for Hertz and ICT)
There will be no Europe for the H*Ns next season anyway regardless of where they finish.
SKY NEWS pictures from outside ipox.
It must be getting serious – they’ve started tying scarves and jerseys to the railings. No sign of any with R.I.P. on them yet!

Or is that just a gut feeling after having followed this case on the various blogs involved?

that guy did for industry………………….aye
maybe you’re right, but I’d let him keep it for

Just a thought, as the cousin deal is likely to flounder, rangers last singing will be………………..Cellik……this day can only get better!
When you try your best, but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
And high up above or down below
When you’re too in love to let it go
But if you never try you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Tears stream down on your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down on your face
And I…
Tears stream down on your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down on your face
And I…
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
