Columbian forward Camilo Duran is a relatively late developer. He was playing fourth-tier football in Portugal three years ago. Two moves later he pitched up at Azerbaijani champions Qarabag, which he enjoyed his breakthrough season. Now 24, he is in Scotland for a medical with Celtic having agreed terms for his transfer.
It was his stats in last season’s Champions League that got him the move: five goals in 10 games. That compares favourably with nine in 30 Azerbaijani league games, the reasons why he prospered more in Europe than domestically is informative.
One of Camilo’s main attributes is his mobility, he attacks space and is known for pressing opponents when out of possession and there is not too much of that in domestic football for Qarabag. They lost out on the title for only the second time in 13 years last term and face deep-sitting defences in almost every game. This explains why the player flourished against better opposition and will reflect what he can expect should his deal go through at Celtic.
Physically, he looks more like a winger than a striker, someone who will time runs into the box, not a player who can hold his position against a central defender or compete in the air. The same could be said about Kyogo, whose perpetual motion outdone opponents’ best efforts to subdue him, but that is a high bar to compare to.

Angus Gunn signs for San Jose Earthquakes

Fingers crossed for supersub Kele coming back !
No red flag for me. Just vital contributions.
RC
Injured at Livingston recalled to us
Critics on here have no problem in telling us which Celtic players they want out, inc younger players, but when it comes to suggestions as to who they think/hope/believe could or should come in answers come none.
Fact is they would not know where to start, apart from a bhoycott that is……..
It’s the same ol’ story…….any fool can be negative….
B to B
I did say about 12
Schmichael, Palma, Welsh, Inamura, ihenacho
Araujo, Scarrachi, Cvancara, Arthur, Adamu, Avula
We have returned Loans Kenny, Yamada, Nawrocki
And Montgomery
So it may be 7 nett of any B team promotions.
The numbers will change daily.
The point stands in my opinion 7, 9, 11 or 12.
We have considerable less players than last season at the current time
Think P67 may have a meltdown if Kelechi signs.
there are highly paid guys at the club whose job it is to identify and bring in players.
its not our job.
or perhaps they are highly paid to do fk all on DDs instructions?
as in the CEO
Who would you buy for Celtic?
Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, and prime Lionel the GOAT. Buy a retractable roof for over Celtic Park, and persuade UEFA to let us start every tie 3–0 up.
If we’re asking ridiculous questions of supporters, we might as well give ridiculous answers
BSR
👏👏👏
If only we had professional football guys to identify players…
lets all do the huddle
And yet you and your ilk have no problem identifying the players who are not good enough to meet the standards you set for Celtic players…..
Not quite sure if that meets Paul67 ol’ cognitive dissonance standard…..
But it sure comes damn close….
New Balls!

“…we might as well give ridiculous answers….”
No change there then……
Celtic Mac
When the facts change, I change my mind
IMO Time taken when we already had the backroom staff plus Ox, Kelechi and Saracchi is a nonsense
MO’N accepting all the delays in appointments lay with him
Martin O’Neill has explained the reasons why the announcements of his coaching staff, including Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham, were delayed.
He said: “All this thing about the backroom staff, that is totally down to me delaying, seriously. It was my fault as much as anything else because there were roles going elsewhere.
“If a new manager were to step into the football club, obviously he’d want his own staff and things like that. It was me delaying to see whether I wanted to do it or not – that was one of the reasons.”
I have a cunning plan.
Sign a striker likely to start every game and have Ihenacho and Osmand on the bench.
Not too shabby.
not at all shabby, gets my thumbs up
Angus Gunn should,ve singed for Arsenal

*Mine tae and have Johnny Kenny around tae
News just in:
Celtic manager, Martin O’Neill, has informed fans that in the almost 22 years which have passed since Mr O’Neill warned Celtic fans about the dangers to Celtic FC’s status as a club to be taken seriously, in spite of the PLC’s “Slow Lane” transfer policy, Mr O’Neill said:
“So lets look at this in its proper context.
Manager,[Martin O’Neill], warns fans about the PLC applying the handbrake at Transfer Windows.
And now [looks at his watch] we’re 22 years down the road and fans have done next to nothing about the PLC who deploy the “Slow Lane” at TW time.
And now, after 22 years of the “Slow Lane” fans are looking for someone to pin the blame on at TW time, twice every season.
I can only hope that the children of those fans will be more discerning.
But I’ve been proven to be wrong about Celtic fans before.
Maybe its time to bring back football terraces as fans were far more sharper in those days.
Yes that might be the trick that everybody at club, if not the game in general is missing.
I would certainly be a very strong advocate of that.”
Martin O’Neill – Manager of Celtic FC.
Ah mean…..its just another true story!
I’m having the time of my life. Full steam ahead and damn the torpedoes!
Johnny Kenny started fitness training at Lennoxtown after ligament injury at Bolton.

Bognorbhoy on the cooking sherry again. 😂
Celtic Mac
Please don’t be ridiculous.
Don’t expect any of these ‘experts’ to have clue as to what they want. Not their jobs 😂
Of course they can all tell you plenty about what they don’t want.
Usually it is whatever anyone in authority at Celtic does.
Kinda pathetic even for pre school kids but
“lol this is crazy!”

The experts are supposed to be those in the jobs requiring the expertise earning massive salaries – that is their job. what folk dont want is folk who dont appear to be all that good at their jobs. managers, back room staff and players seem to be fair game for that kind of appraisal by just about everyone but other employees should have a free pass ???
An article suggesting we may have – finally – signed something akin to Kyogo’s replacement has 70 comments.
This suggests either the suits have sucked every scintilla of excitement and joy out of Close Season Cup proceedings or – with 99% season books renewed more broadly – CQN is a tiny little backwater of malcontent Victor Meldrews, of which I’m occasionally one!
Now our glacial signing policy proceedings are peppered with MON suggesting we may give Kel or Scratch a call to augment our arsenal for the coming season (Paul might lose his SH1T over their age and non-resale value).
It’s a confusing picture innit !

Good morning all.
Cooking sherry ?
Who cooks with sherry?
Sherry is for drinking …
After a few it’s…
Who’s sherry ?
😂
I renewed my ST as I always do and I genuinely thought that the mess we made of last season would have been a lesson learned and we were told it was.
I say a mess and some will say we won a double and of course we did and we all enjoyed that however it would be beyond foolish not to recognise the failings. Our own deliberate shortcomings had us 4 minutes and a VAR decision away from losing the title to a club what a quarter or of size? From a corporate POV that is bad management. We also allowed our local rival to get closer albeit the collapsed at the end however that was their doing not ours. Having last season used as a stick to beat some of the support is pathetic and disingenuous – it’s like England beating Scotland or the U18s beating the U12s and claiming some kind of huge success. As someone said the other day it’s like a restaurant being congratulated for having cutlery.
So far all the promises made have come to nothing – we have not improved or added to the board, we have not added to or improved scouting and analytics, we have not replaced a retiring chairman, we have not engaged new HoF or DoF – lots of promises 6/7 months old and achieved zero.
Player recruitment is frankly a joke – usual glacial pace and if you believe the rumours about Kel and Scratchy (AOC already in) surely it screams about the lack of a functioning football dept. and it could only be Celtic that would take this amount of time to resign players we already had while at the same time they lose what ever fitness they had by starting pre season weeks behind everyone else. Whether Kel and AOC will be worthwhile remains to be seen but the optics are shocking. The team needs major surgery and this is what we get?
If we wanted to bulk up the squad there are players on our doorstep that will do that for relatively small money and who also also Scottish which we need for Euro comps – Miller is better than Bala and Tounekti, Hamilton from Dundee is better than McCowan, the young CB at Dundee is better than Dane Murray, Watt at Motherwell is better than Bernardo – how’s that for a boost of Scottish boys for small fees and wages. Then maybe Chiawa and Just and what about Hoch at Bodo? Were we not strongly linked to him at striker? The lot for what £20m max – we will bring in likely double that?
What’s Brian McClair up to these days?
Evening BRRB.
I really think replacing Calmac the legend is the most important position we must have. Calmac is past his peak and his position is the engine room and brain of the team. I hope we find our next leader for this key position. Calmac can then play for fun.
I am not a religious man but my beautiful wee mum and my dad were. She passed peacefully a yesterday evening surrounded by family and me on WhatsApp. She joins my dad who passed with covid. They lived and loved and laughed life to the max. Only one aunt from 8 left. Anyway if any believers could say a wee prayer for Mary’s soul, I would appreciate it. Hail Hail
