It is not making a murderous gesture that is the greatest affront; it is the normalisation of it by opinion makers and influencers. We are asked to believe that it is acceptable for our footballers to make a throat cutting gesture when leaving the field. It is not, never has been, and at no time in Scottish football’s often disreputable history has there ever been such a low point.
There have always been some low-life footballers and there most probably always will be. They are worth our pity as well as our condemnation. Trying to normalise the despicable is new.
I don’t believe any of those who are defending murderous gestures honestly want to live in a society where this is the norm. What they want, is to stop Celtic winning nine-in-a-row, and they are prepared to subvert every ethical value to achieve this.
This is what we are up against – and why we cannot submit.

What a complete waste of talent, bhoy going no where!
A lot of people talking about how Celtic are perceived in England, here is my tuppence!!
It’s a long one!!
I have a lot of family, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends in Birmingham (my mammy was born there) and amongst them are Aston Villa, Birmingham City & West Bromwich Albion fans.
The VAST majority of them are simply football fans following the team they were born into or who their friends followed as children.
MOST don’t give a flying f**k about Scottish football but do know all about Celtic and Sevco & get all the related news through Sky Sports / Talksport, so will tend to believe we are 2 sides of the same coin.
However!!!
A lot are influenced by the more right wing elements of their support for example, a cousin of mine who follows Birmingham City EVERYWHERE, told me recently he was planning on visiting Ibrox for a match as there are bus loads of Birmingham City fans who regularly go to Ibrox & were inviting him along for the buzz!!
He admitted that they are the “proper nut jobs” who are only really interested in fighting & that the Ibrox & Louden tavern experience was a good fit for them!!
I hope I talked him out of it!!!
All he knows about Celtic is the Irish connection (& what I have told him) and that we are NOT rangers!!! he doesn’t really care about anything else!!

…….or a ‘gentlemans’ agreement.
I know I’m probably havering, however just can’t come up with a rational explanation why we appear so powerless in all these situations.
I knew Jabba’s brother very well. No love lost between him and Jabba.

U have a dilema
Magico , Roberto.
Sorry to bore people and repeat what i wrote yesterday.
In Scotland Celtic will NEVER win in the court of public opinion.
The deck is stacked against them/you.
When the Aberdeen chairman went to the media to comment on strictly sporting matters ,regarding the thug Cosgrove’s blatant charge on Ajer, the Celtic chairman Mr Bankier should have intervened instead of leaving it to Lenny who is well capable of managing the likes of McKinness who also got his share of soundbites, or are we afraid Aberdeen have got more public support in Scotland than Celtic?!? How do you think the players who are giving their all feel, especially our great International players, with the absence of any support from the Board?? Sadly the Celtic establishment want to hobnob with the British Celebrity establishment and try to project an image of prudence and tolerance and distance themselves from the working class fans and the working class ethics of a well coached football team. Their objective is being well politically aligned as well. John Reid was the culmination of all that. Since then our chairmen have been conspicious by their absence in the media…..not even CQN. I am not a shareholder unfortunately so it is not my beef but it makes my green blood boil seeing how amateurish our economic superstructure is. We do a disservice to the people of Scotland as well by not defending ourselves and standing up for what is obviously right in this case. Now we have the Alf show and as its Newco they do have more clout than the Dons and we need an Englishman like Chris Sutton who might be a Celtic legend but he is not a legend legend if you know what I mean , to box in the media for us To be honest I wouldn’t like to see one Celtic fan on the board…I would like to see the board jam packed with them and then we would hear capable people, like many on CQN, put the mudslingers in their place and fight tooth and nail against the bias of the SFA. Fergus was a wise guy business genius but he is a fan, the bunnet says it all. Get your hands dirty Mr Bankier, every club needs leadership.
Chris Sutton’s voice will doom be lost when the BT contract finishes at the end of this season.
Anyone noticed how Craigan now seems to be popping up (seamlessly integrated) on BBC Sportsound?
I wonder if they’ll offer Sutton a similar role.
Bankibhoy
No way is his brother a hun ! Him and his wife regular church goers.

The blogger
Sutton is used by BT on the EPL and European games whereas Craigen is a numpty
Paddy Roberts joins Middlesbrough FC …. What a waste of a talent.
Dear oh Dear what ambition do footballers actually have.
Probably to be millionaires asap I suppose and can we blame them with the amount of cash that is swirling about down south.
Football now is a Souless job, footballers of football clubs could not give a flying feck about the roots or ethos of clubs/supporters, truely sad.
D. :)
Footballers or football clubs I meant.
D. :)
Caddy…………..
Hun = supporter of “the rainjurz”
Fat Jim supports them.
Does his brother support “the rainjurz” too?
Paddy Roberts is still a Man City player so he goes where he’s told – however if he’s not doing the business he’ll be moved on from one club to another.
Bankiebhoy
From personal experience
All Huns support ranjurs but all ranjurs supporters aren’t Huns
Definitive answer. His brother is not a hun nor a supporter of them.

RIMTIMTIM @ 7:31 PM,
Good to see you posting…
…Truth!!
Hail Hail
Noticed that John Hughes is advising the manager to buy another striker. Saw Yogi’s first game when he scored against Third Lanark. Saw him demoralise Doug Baillie at Ibrox when he was only 17. Saw him beat the whole Morton team at Cappielow before scoring from 30 yards. What a player!
Celtic and Jock Stein under-estimated his value. Interestingly, at a Greenock supporters’ do, John said he had never been coached once during his Celtic career.
How do you stay logged using an i-pad?
Fritzsong…I don’t think big Yogi was underestimated. The fans loved him. Yogi’s problem, like most wingers, was inconsistency. Sydney Tim would probably have described him as invisible. When he was on-song, no one could get near him. I will always think of him as a legend…
Serious point
Could AJ, ex Rangers Chairman, be challenged in court for his statement, that Sevco and Rangers are the same club ?
How much would this cost, and what penalty could be awarded – costs for the case ?
How much would it cost to challenge his Pish
Could this be crowd funded, would there be interest in such
Is there a lawyer out there who would be interested in challenging his Pish

Gene,
Is it possible to support a Club that wouldn`t sign a player because of his relgion but still be an OK person?
( I know this is mute now with Sevco but you`ll get my drift).
FWIW. If Celtic announced that thet were not going to sign Protestants, for example, I would have no problem in giving up my support.
Norriem
What offence has he committed?
Norriem
It should be the SFA and spfl that should have been called out on Day 1 of the same club crap
