It all starts for real next week but, unlike most previous Celtic managers who finds significant interest in his star player, Neil Lennon is pretty chilled when talking about the player moving on. I want to keep Victor, he reminds me of a young Keane (Roy), Neil will want to keep him too, but you have to wonder, what the manager would do with some cash to spend.
Only just catching up with CQN and the UK media, is anyone still interested in the big ball game? Delighted to hear the man from Dunblane got his just rewards. The excellent BBC documentary on him two weeks ago touched on issues you and me and not qualified to touch on here, but there is a great humanity story wrapped up in his achievement.
Our paucity of sporting genetic raw material is apparently untrue. From a (temporary) distance it’s evident he has branded the Scots better than any grappling politician ever could.

No. It’s right to call him out as a tit for the flawed Anti-sectarian football bill.

Must have missed it then. Was working though and didn’t read back so fair enough.
It won’t get the same outing as some other quotations designed to fit an agenda though.

Load of tosh mate…………..Salmond and his cronies have it in for the Celtic support in case you hadn’t noticed.
Pretty cheap shot trying to label people who think the ex-banker is a chancer and/or sleazebag that has and would say ANYTHING to get a vote, with people who try and assault our manager.
Fairly used to cheap shots from the SNP to be fair.
morrissey the 23rd
And,IMO,his reasons for doing so.
Lest we forget…..
I cringed when I saw Salmond ,clutch for his saltire to get his SNP moment .
Well done Andy Murray.
Be aware there are those that aim to use you for their personal gain everywhere around you.

I also find it a source of amusement that there are many on CQN who would champion an independent Ireland but are horrified at the prospect of an independent Scotland.
All the people of Scotland have a right to debate the pros and cons of an independent Scotland in a mature and calm atmosphere.
Well said
Without any irony they also champion natlionstic flag waving…………..as long as its an Irish tricolour
Question………………
How many friendlys did we play last season…
And out of those……
How many did we win…………

Lennon tells McGuinness to focus on retaining Sam
08 July 2013
Celtic manager Neil Lennon. INPHOCeltic manager Neil Lennon has given Jim McGuinness permission to put all his energies into retaining the Sam Maguire over the next couple of months.
The Donegal manager is employed as a performance consultant by the Glasgow giants, but former Armagh minor footballer Lennon has given him the green light to concentrate exclusively on the remainder of the Tir Chonaill men’s championship campaign.
“I see Jim every day when he’s here. He sits basically just outside my office. I had a good long chat with him when I came back from Portugal,” Lennon explained to the Irish Daily Star.
“Basically, I’d like Jim to be a little less involved because I’d like him to concentrate on Donegal for the time being and as we’re getting into the teeth of the season round October and November Jim can really do his stuff again.
“We’re really happy with the stuff he’s bringing to the younger lads – we’ll see the benefits of that in a year or two’s time.” – See more at: http://www.hoganstand.com/Football/ArticleForm.aspx?ID=196147#sthash.CMXkjwEB.dpuf
+1. For the Saltire at Wimbledon ………
Just a pity it was the fish,s misses weaving it.

Fair enough,bud.
As I have said,we are highly unlikely to agree on this particular topic-and as exiles,we are irrelevant-but even the most passionate discussions should always be polite.
And accurate.
I like to think ours are.
Which is good enough for me.
Andy Murray possibly to be knighted for winning Wimbledon!!! Now i think Andy winning is an amazing personal achievement however to be ‘honoured’ for knocking a wee furry yellow, or white, ball back and forth over a net for a couple of hours while being incredibly well remunerated for doing so is taking it a wee bit too far. Just shows up the so called honours system for what it is – a total farce.
Snake
I have no political position to defend.
If he had produced the Saltire throughout the match then fine.
He was supporting win or lose.
But he waited till Murray won, then he waited until he new the camera was on Cameron and him,and snatched out the saltire.
He came across as grasping, and desperate.
As I said I genuinely grinned when he did it.

Grinned= cringed.

If your vote on independence is to be based purely on an economic then why not develop that argument and take it to its logical conclusion.
And put Scotland up for sale.

does it come with the history ?

I didnt mind the flag waving, it wasnt as if it was a 4 horsemans banner, that would have got him arrested.

I hope Andy Murray ignores this knighthood nonsense. Here’s http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/jul/08/andy-murray-wimbledon-reclaimed-dunblane … a better measure of his achievement
Such a fuss down here in England about Andy winning Wimbledon.
Nothing has changed it is still 77 years since an Englishman won Wimbledon.
Great post snake and couldnt agree with you more..too many haters in the country some on here unfortunatly..hate this hoat weather..lol h.h

IMO ,he is a worthy

I’m happy for him, proud he is Scottish, and delighted he overcame a negative media.

You confuse the right to debate all the pros and cons of an independent Scotland with the First Minister making an arse of himself and embarrassing Scotland in front of a world wide audience.
No one is shouting down debate. They’re havi g a go at Salmond.

Thanks!

Please.
Are you blaming Alex Salmond for seating arrangements at the all England club?
Bit of a stretch really.
Bawsman
Did you read my original post?
I never compared Alex Salmond to Neil Lennon, they are different people with different problems – one obviously more severe than the other.
I was pointing out that the hatred expressed verbally and in written text is not a million miles away from each other and verges on the pathological and I find that to be the most disgusting thing about this supposed flag controversy.
