EVANDER SNO was snapped up on a cut-price £250,000 from Feyenoord by Gordon Strachan in the summer of 2006.
The Celtic boss was looking to bolster his options in midfield and the 19-year-old Dutch starlet fitted the bill as a powerhouse anchorman.
Strachan had high hopes for the youngster whose career had stalled at the Rotterdam giants. However, despite an encouraging start in which the player was called up to Holland’s senior international squad, Sno failed to click long-term at Parkhead and was on the move two years later.

However, after just one season in Amsterdam, he was sent to Bristol City on loan before returning to Ajax at the end of an impressive season in England.
In September 2010, while playing a match with the reserve side against Vitesse, Sno suffered a heart attack. It took paramedics 10 minutes to resuscitate the player before he was taken to hospital. Remarkably, Sno returned to action two months later.
After his contract expired, he signed a one-year deal with Eredivisie side RKC Waalwijk before joining NEC Nijmegan in June 2012. Unfortunately, Sno suffered another on-pitch cardiac arrest in September that year.
In April 2013, Sno ended his contract with NEC and returned to RKC in October. He was freed after the club were relegated and signed for Belgian side Westerlo in June 2014. After only two games, his contract was scrapped in December.
A month later, he continued his travels as he signed for ADO Den Haag and then had a third spell at RKC. He joined Dutch amateur club DHSC in July 2017 before he announced his retirement the following year at the age of 31.
