I had a conversation yesterday about what the world will be like when lockdown is lifted. We agreed it will not be lifted all at once. Small private gatherings will be permitted first, then restaurants, cinemas and eventually bars. The last thing to be released from lockdown will be football stadiums.
When you consider how football fans shout, sing and embrace, normal attendance at games will not be possible while the virus exists and large parts of the population remain in mortal danger. Thousands of spectators cross-contaminating will not be allowed to happen until the virus is eradicated or a vaccine is distributed. This could take years.
Around 90% of the football industry across Europe may go out of business before selling another match ticket. Scotland would be left with Celtic and the community clubs, who can furlough every member of staff, get a grant for the rates and rent out their pitch to youth teams to pay insurance and utility bills.
This is just one small unthinkable thing in a seemingly imperious industry that is very thinkable in 2020. Similar consequences will be replicated in other industries across the world. If football wants to survive, it has to get innovative very quickly.
Facemasks, visors, gloves, a shedload of new rules on behaviour permitted at a football ground, alcohol gel dispensers everywhere and cashless kiosks are all things clubs should be planning for. It would be a mistake to assume the game we are familiar with will return at any point in the next year. Your football stadium experience will either be very different, or it will not happen for a long time.

We have a kids play area just across the road from us. About 4 Indian kids were playing cricket late this afternoon.
I wonder what my American neighbors make of it.
It’s a perfect game for social distancing. A batter, a bowler about 15 yards away and fielders left and right well away from batter.
GG where in USA are you?
All play area and playgrounds shut down and roped off here in Southern California
Missis told me, if your bored why don’t you make a table.
Now its all kicking off because she only got 5th place

I’m in NJ. All public park areas in the county are off limits.
Our kids play park is in the development next to the swimming pool.
Cops drove round this evening having a wee look at people walking in the late sunshine, I assume checking for any larger than 10 gatherings.
Local reported case numbers are supposed to be slowing, although deaths are rising.
The state is second to NY in cases, but the larger numbers are in the counties neighbouring Manhattan. We are out west towards PA just about on the rural belt.
I am confined to home to reduce my risk.
Groceries ordered online and my daughter collects and brings my medications.
I hope you and all posters are as equally safe and healthy.

Good morning CQN from a grey and damp Garngad
Have we got our deserved title yet?
D. :)
Good morning, friends and Happy Holy Thursday from a disappointingly grey and wet East Kilbride. A day for staying indoors if you ask me ;-) Off to work…
RT @hawkins_carole £10,000 given to all MP’s for Covid19 expenses with no receipts needed & Sunak has the nerve to say SELF EMPLOYED PEOPLE WILL DEFRAUD THE TREASURY. Can the Tories sink any lower – “I’m all right Jack & (sweary word ) you” is their attitude. Bevan was right they are lower than vermin.
Hello again all you young rebels.
G’day David 66, we’ve got it but will they give us it ?
BIG JIMMY
Not heard from you, are you o.k? let us know.

MM – good morning, I do not trust SFA and know that they will be up to something.
Big Jimmy – I was going to call you today about any shopping you need, let us know you are safe.
You have mail and texts.

John MacDonald: From leading the line with Rangers to working on the front line with the NHS
Everyone and anyone who played for them quoted daily in “herald”.
Next week the N’S.
Favourite uncle I cannot wait to read about the Dallas family and all the other referees who work used to work for The Rankers/Sevco to tell their story.

Hearts are running Sevco close in the basket case stakes. After previously threatening legal action, Ann Budge has said now is not the time for rules…
So what’s her legal challenge going to be based on ?
Beautiful day here in Melbourne, but doing little jobs about the garden
appreciative of the fact a lot of people don’t have that luxury.
A wee visit from the family outside in their car brightened our day, and
the Easter eggs were passed over to each other like a CIA operation.
A bit sad when they left without cuddles, but when wee Grace promised
the biggest hug in the world when the virus goes away the tears were
there.

……………
AN TEARMANN..
i enjoyed your videos this morning and I was at both games.
That night against Vojvodina was amazing.. I must have been about 11 years old and my Da took me.
We were in the Celtic end…and my Da made sure that I was stood at the front along with all the other wee Bhoys and Ghirls.
My Da had his Hooped Top Hat on that night…( not during the actual game)…and I remember being on his Broad Shoulders as we left Celtic Park that night…and TRYING to wear this very heavy Celtic Top Hat…it was made from HARDBOARD !
Everyone was singing and dancing as we left the ground…and I stupidly let the Top Hat fall to the ground behind me…I remember hitting my Da on the heid…and shouting ” Da..Ive lost your hat” !
Still on his mighty broad shoulders he retraced our steps a few yards and 2 or 3 other Celtic Men were celebrating and taking turns at wearing my Da’s Top hat.
They Big man just said…” Here Bhoys…thats ma hat”…and they quickly handed it back…LOL
stay safe everyone.

Good morning LENNYBHOY.
Safe as safe can be, but will the nutjobs stay of the beaches?
First time i’ve ever hoped for torrential rain over a weekend.
Strange times?
H.H . Mick
I’ve just started watching sunderland til I die – there’s celtic in episode 1!!! What a way to start the day.
There will be nut jobs on the beaches, that’s why they are nut jobs but hopefully they will be in the minority.
Keep the Faith!

Mornin all – pourin doon- time to man the keyboard
LENNYBHOY
Just watching the news now, police considering roadblocks to stop
people entering beaches, a million dollars in fines already handed
out to lockdown breakers, they mean business, but will they idiots
bother?
In other news , tons of medical supplies arrived from Wuhan China
into Melbourne airport today, interested in any debate between
MACJAY and CANMAN today.
H.H . Mick
I read somewhere that Celtic should propose playing to a finish, but if not possible and the league is to be declared, then all prize money should be divided equally between all Premiership clubs in a show of solidarity in these difficult times. Wonder if that would gain support from the majority…
Stat safe, and at home Bhoys.
