After the adrenaline-fuelled dramas that a return to the Champions League after five long years provided, Celtic are off to Paisley on Sunday. There will be an inevitable drop-off in in energy levels, the players are not machines, after all, as we take on an opponent with more robust objective from the game.
While Celtic have four days to recover and prepare, St Mirren will be 15 days without a game when they take on the champions. During this period, they will have been able to do some endurance training and get plenty rest before what will be a committed 90 minutes’ effort. They will not be easy to overcome.
Whatever motivational chat Ange Postecoglou gives before a game, it cannot always have the same intensity. I expect he fully animated the players for the games against Real and Shakhtar, but words overused lose their affect. Can he really whip them up for St Mirren? I doubt it, in fact, I don’t even think he should.
Our baseline performance must be substantial enough to pick the points in Paisley. The next big emotional effort is three weeks away, save the inspiration for then. One more push before the break.

And fair play to you for taking it in the spirit that was intended.
We have demanded a satire font on CQN for years, alas people get the wrong idea, I know I do.
The banners are embarrassing but not life threatening not even in business brand terms. I believe Celtic’s kit deal with Adidas the most financially lucrative deal ever penned by a Scottish club or Celtic, or ahem Peter. I doubt it’s in jeopardy because somebody had a derogatory banner at a Celtic game. Monarchy is much more controversial in the big wide world, than a handful of dissenting republicans from Scotland ( who can blame them). Who would win in a big big world wide fight between republicans and monarchists, – no contest.
I posted yesterday that the BBC for the first time in history in a derogatory slanted Celtic story didn’t say “ Celtic fans “ but said “ a section of Celtic fans “. Marked change? Not in the maelstrom that will probably continue after the St. Mirren game, regardless of how a section of Celtic supporters react in the minutes applause.
It’s a shame, because as I’ve posted many, many times Celtic are a truly non denominational club, not they way Scottish ‘ society ‘ want to see us, but unfortunately for them, truly non denominational let’s hope the Adidas’s get it.
Enjoy the match.
poaching talent from others academys, dont these bhoys know how rubbish a set up it is ? our best youths leaving for germany , dont they know there is no indoor pitch, if they are still wanting to go to school dont they know about the glee club.

B78-I think you know I refer to simply showing a brief mark
of respect and doing nothing at the moment when the applause is happening. Nothing more than that.
AT I do b78, but we can’t disassociate the crown and the Celtic fanbase,a reaction is/was sure as tomorrow
I believe since last post it’s now applause.
I think b78 if you and I were discussing lizzies death a few years back,I would assume whatever was deemed respectful by society Celtic fans would do the opposite.
I would also say all unionist shills media, media whores
et al would be looking to Celtic fans to satisfy their own bigotry,as shown this morn Kyle etc.
B78-Fair play if you think it better if the Celtic brand drops deeper at this bonkers time
AT- cAre you pulling out?
This Celtic brand you talk of is ?
I ask that in the full profound sense, this pristine icon gets implied, inferred bout in its great intangibleness
quite a bit.
Is it the same great mythical icon, whose support backed and put in the foundations by the £millions in 1994/5 and continue to follow by the £million, yet the same mythical Celtic is shtoom to silence on a cheating rivals 91.02% players were incorrectly registered.and its after math of 2012.
The brand seemed to do OK there, harnessing the agribigotry business well since some would forward as a suggestion.
B78- Also I will have huge respect if you can replace the current sponsors with similar value / indeed any value after the Celtic brand trashing of the past week by our own. Whether it be booze or gambling or any sort.
AT-we will await b78 if your suprise is affirmed,
Which sponsor in particular?
I would suggest the Celticbrandtrashing was primed preoffendedness as I wrote earlier Liz was barely in the box and already we were picked on about no statement on Lizs death,We had! But in there Goebbellian world it didn’t matter. They kick us,no excuse needed.
I am quite well aware of today’s cancel domino
Personally I think Celtic fans should at the intellectual and learning forefront of how to use a brand in a Bayern Munich sense,
they are it imo,
But they are not, anything but b78,remoteness rules.
B78-Few major brands would risk the association in my experience.
AT-We will see,Celtic goes on b78,as I said earlier the ticket query answer is at the end of the return key
It can be dealt with that way.
Re your away query in today’s world it bemused why fans, you and I know, one or 2,home and away fans can not be mapped.,so many are gleaned off Corp.
In today dig world surely a reward and a synergistic return.
Getting a ticket and seeing where you are can be done today.Fergus could take you out and point to your seat.60k when Kelly att;21000.
It is one area a constant prob for years..
Hail Hail
I posted a few threads ago and asked if we could for 60 seconds bite the bullet , the laptop loyal we’re eager and ready to batter into us . It fell on deaf ears on Wednesday . I am a big fan of the green brigade many a game would be dull without them , the work they do for food banks is fantastic , but the leaders of this group please think of the harm on our club , we are well accepted out-with this country let’s continue that , on Sunday if you don’t want to take part do nothing , no rude banners , no shouting obscenities, do nothing watch on . I have not an ounce of respect for the monarchy , but I have nothing but love for our club , it’s fans and it’s reputation worldwide . Things are going well for the team , and hopefully will only get better ,let’s concentrate oN raising our voices for ange and his team . HH
To paraphrase Wullie Shakespeare:-
“When in disgrace with Fortune and men’s eyes……
The thing to do is tell some whopping lies.”
———————–
Not many people know that Wullie wrote a couplet for Celtic:-
“For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.”
James (Galtieri) Forrest writing about appeasement.
You couldn’t make it up……

I will sum this up in only a few words, a production not out of place from a community hall on a peripheral housing scheme, it missed so many of the high points in the clubs history, from Keltic being named after my great granda, james kelly right through to my uncle bob being knighted for winning the big cup, our family ourselves alone me and kevins part keeping the wolves from the door, it missed all this tp pander to the lowest common denominator , ban them all – Dr Michael Kelly

When it was going to be a minute’s silence, I was wondering how much noise there would be. Now that it’s a minute’s applause, I’m wondering how much noise will there will be 😉
and that followed on from their 90 minutes silence during the Celtic game …

Must have been a few Celtic and Liverpool fans down in Cardiff today, wait till Piers, Nigel and Jeremy get a hold of them.

👏👏👏😂😂😂
cannae wait till Monday
there will be no minutes (2) silence
there will be singing and dancing and maybe a wee drink to celebrate
thinking back to the Coronation and laughing
The Celtic Musical better be good !!!
(thats if half of CQN havent had it shut down !)
No one who attends a sporting event, music even or any other social event should be forced or feel compelled to participate in any form of appreciation, celebration or remembrance for any political, ethnic, religious beliefs or values etc unless they are agreeable to said thing from the outset.
If I want to remember the war dead I can go to a ceremony and buy a poppy, If I want to remember the queen i can go pay my respects, if I wanna get political I can join a political party, i dont need any of that forced on me.
If you are gonna force that shite on folk, then why do those same folk not have the right to let you know my view? I.e. black armbands etc.
Stop forcing populous views onto folk, stop trying to force folk to do things because you think they should, stop trying to brownbeat folk into your way of thinking and demonising folk who don’t share your populous view.
Lots of folk share the view of the GB lots of non-celtic supporting folk share those views and lots of Scottish, English, Welsh and Ireland etc folk share those views too.
We live in a domocracy and people have the right to express their views, as for the right wing cunts in the media etc, bitching about celtic supporters go fuck yourselves. I have to deal with out and out racism and scum every year with the OO using its right to free speech to engage in hate towards the minority to which I belong and you won’t hear any of those cunts say one thing. No condemnation about the racism on a weekly basis toward minorities over at the shitepit.

Burnley,
Did you bring a couple of carrier bags full of food, to aid those verminous GB standing out in the cold and rain, doing their bit to the tune of250,000 pounds in past 5 years,to keep the Food banks going ?Did you turn up and help these vile clowns deliver food to the hospital staff, during Covid?.
Did you support them in their demonstration supporting Palestine.Got us a fine from UEFA.Shocking, immature Eejits.
You are giving off the impression you would love one of our Sponsors to pull the plug,so you would be able to strut about, self righteous, saying “See”.No idea what gives me that idea????????.
Never gonna happen,so deal with it.

Schrödinger’s Queen ?
Well, I must say that I am most disappointed in Belmont Brian and Lennybhoy, allowing a parcel of rogues / rapsacallions to descend on Coatbridge.
Mick Gillen even made an appearance.
Love you all.
Big Jimmy, remember, I’ll take you down to see Martin and the other big Jimmy any time
AN TEARMANN on 16TH SEPTEMBER 2022 3:48 PM
From Gearoid
I’ll take you to Belfast to Larne and Coleraine,
I’ll bring you to Newry and right back again.
I’ll show you sickness, violence and plagues,
But the worst thing I’ll show you is too many Taigs.
We’ll sit in the courtroom and hear cases tried,
Where injustice and crime can find no place to hide.
And the guilty get sentences both small and big,
But you know it’s a Fenian there under the wig.
I’ll bring you to lectures where students are taught
And knowledge and wisdom are earnestly sought.
And the young from the classroom to adulthood pass,
But there’s always a very strong odour of Mass.
I’ll take you to newsrooms where stories are written,
To studios for news from reporters hard-bitten.
To political meetings with shoutin’ and hecklin’
And the bloke with the notebook is bound to be Declan.
For Ulster has changed from the days of my youth,
I recognise less now I’m long in the tooth.
When I was a youngster the factory foreman
Was bound to be Davy or Sammy or Norman.
But now she’s a feminist and Catholic to boot,
And she has little time for the flag or the flute.
And the boss is from Cork and his wife is from Tuam,
And they all love their hurling as they’re talking on Zoom.
And the shipyard that gave us the mighty Titanic
Now gives us only suspicion and panic.
It’s full of them Poles and no Orange sashes,
And Lent is the time of confession and ashes.
But sometimes I think if I had my time back,
If the Lord was to hand me another wee crack,
I’d say to myself and my marching band cronies,
‘Let’s all do our homework and stop climbing boneys.
’And I’d tell my own children that, though it’s too late,
I wish I had left them off at the school gate,
Instead of the flute hall where I’d wait and hope
That they too would some day be kicking the Pope.
For I concentrated hard on our cultural wealth,
And I bought them their union jack hats on the Twelfth,
While over the wall during our fun and revels,
Themmuns were racking up all those A-Levels.
But time still remains by our betters we’re told,
We’ve still got a chance but we’ve got to be bold.
Let’s get loyal children to do what Seán’s done,
Let’s pick up the book and set down the gun.
And in 20 short years a new graduate crop
Will show us again what it’s like to be top.
And across loyal Ulster the message will spread,
‘Too fxxxxn’ late, lads, the union is dead.”
:-)

Wow. Brilliant. Thanks to Gearoid and thanks to you An Tiernan for re/ posting. Brilliant. I once watched an interview with the leader of the political wing of one of the loyalist paramilitaries , David Ervine? He said as much. His Main thrust was that Catholic schools had obtained far better grades for their pupils than schools in loyalist areas and that Catholic schools had served their pupils far better than had the schools in loyalist areas. They had depended on trades being passed from father to son and education hadn’t been taken as seriously as it had by Catholics who out performed non/denominational schools. Those trades were beginning to disappear and loyalist youths were being left bereft whereas young Catholics had better opportunities due to their better qualifications.
This poem seems to bear out exactly what he said.

Really interesting discussion about how various people react to the death of Elizabeth Windsor.
Cast your mind back to how people reacted then, and continue to react now, to the death of elected member of ‘the mother of all democracies’ parliament, Bobby Sands.

Leipzig v Celtic draw 1 point…

I think there’s sequence of results that could see us get through with 7 points.

Thanks for your response. I think you’re right I know there’s a bit of leeway. Leipzig could beat Shaktar away from home and we would still go through also.

David Ervine is a true hero of ordinary working class Protestants in the 6.Progressive in what he wanted for his community.rip.
Was aware that an eye for an eye led to blindness.
His daughter is fluent in Irish,an advocate of it and oversees Irish in an area of growth, its regeneration natural.Things going on that are counter intuitive to the stereotypical them/us what we are told daily.
Hope your good,a few changes Sunday

CELTIC MAC:
You’ve just summed up the problem with this site and the reason so many people have left it.
It’s full of snide little bitches who are never happier when they are lobbing grenades at people.
From behind a pen name.
You know why mine says James Forrest? Cause that’s my name.
You know what that means?
If you ever grow a set you’ll be able to find me.
I’ve spent the whole of the week punching back at the people taking shots at our fans and our club. The whole week. And the first instinct of one of the clowns on here is to see my name and post a snide, unprovoked, personal attack … just cause. Hey, just cause that’s what’s done on this site now, all the time.
In the meantime, we’re STILL under attack.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11220941/AHEAD-GAME-Sky-TURN-Celtic-crowd-noise-offensive-chants-Queen.html
“It doesn’t matter if you HEAR nothing on Sunday, we know those pesky Celtic DID SOMETHING …”
And this eejit is having a go at ME?
Ah, bollocks to it. This crap is a waste of my time and energy, I’ll get back to doing what I’ve been doing all week long, across several platforms, in my own name.
Where’s Petec when you need him?
