MANCHESTER CITY manager Pep Guardiola has revealed his admiration for Champions League rival Brendan Rodgers.
The Spaniard is set to take on the Irishman when Celtic meet the Etihad giants in the lucrative group stages on September 28 in Glasgow with the return on December 6.
Guardiola and Rodgers will pit their wits against each other and the City gaffer admitted he is looking forward to the confrontation and even admitted he is an admirer of the former Liverpool boss’ work and approach to the game.
He said: “I don’t think there is any doubt about Brendan’s quality.
“He was closer than anyone in the last 25 years to winning the Premier League at Liverpool and he has a lot of experience.
“It is the first time I will go to Glasgow for a game and I am excited to be involved in Celtic’s stadium.
“Brendan has started well in the Scottish League and he also made the first step to qualify for the Champions League.”
