Delighted for Wales last night but what’s happened to Jason Denayer? Since ending his loan period at Celtic a year ago he’s made 15 starts for Galatasaray. He was hooked on four of those occasions, which is a high percentage substituted for a defender. Gala won their first four league games with Jason in the team but won only once in his final 10 appearances. The point was made to me last night that he looked overweight.
In his 12 months at Celtic he polished his rough edges and established himself as a top performer in the most effective defence we’ve had in years. Manchester City were not prepared to let him return to Celtic as the reckoned he simply wasn’t being stretched.
He signed a new contract at Man City before heading for Turkey, but their new management team are unlikely to promote him to their first team squad. He’s unlikely to have impressed anyone at the Euros and Galatasaray won’t be as keen as Celtic were to have him back.
Is it possible we’re the only ones who know what he’s capable of? I’d have him back tomorrow.

Me too.
And me too.
HH
Me too, also as well
And enough of this “weightist” talk. Nothing the matter with carrying a bit of timber.
not me
Maybe not all down to the player in this case but it often is, players need to learn when to stick and when to twist. Many a career has been ended by cutting short a good thing to go to pastures new, the grass certainly isn’t always greener on the other side, especially when you leave paradise.
me an’all
Paul67 etal.
Nothing wrong with a good Turkish Kebab for putting on a bit of extra beef, and yes he did look like that he’s a tad overweight.
Why did naebody tell me yooz were all in here?
Paul67,
Agreed on Denayer, thought he was a very good player, with pace, good leap and good upper body strength.
Whilst I would be pleased to see his return, it is good that BR is not diving into the transfer market, without assessing the current assets at his disposal
I’d also like to see Charlie Mulgrew re- signed, as he can still do a job in 2/3 years in various positions, but as the negotiation drags on it looks less likely.
Looking at our squad, I would loan out Henderson, Ralston , possibly Ajer.
Darnell Fisher looks as though he will get a chance to stake a claim at right back, although I think he could do a job as a defensive midfielder.
Johansen seems to have lost his way, which is a shame, whilst I suspect Kris Commons will go to Hibs.
The most interesting one is Cifci; he never looked like a player at United, and was worse with us.
Is BR bigging him up to get rid of him, or does he genuinely think there is a talent in him?
Interesting times we live in
£3m for Joe Hanson? Take it, take it quickly.
” Belgium are a puzzle . . A squad packed with talent who look reluctant to do something as vulgar as working . The only thing lacking from last night’s perfect cameo was Hazard or De Bruyne calmly missing a penalty .” .

I was walking down to the boats in Bowness-on-Windermere when about 10 Japanese tourist passed us by. Wind got up and Mrs P innocently said “there’s a nip in the air”……
Keep Johansson, also Citcfi,No more loans for Henderson, move on Ambrose,Fisher,Forrest Allan,O,Connel, Mulgrew,Bailey,,also would like another goalkeeper, Izzy I would keep till January,
He was quoted quite recently as saying it was all too easy for him in Scotland and he was glad to get away, very similar comments without the glad to be away part to big Virgil. Not sure we need a defender who thinks it all to easy in the SPFL.
ROCKTREEBHOY@11:55
Apparently he is credited with saying it was too easy – perhaps not surprising when our two nearest challengers, Hearts and Aberdeen find it so difficult against mid-table Estonian and Luxemburg opposition.
Culpable at all 3 Welsh goals.
Looked like some sort of Jason Denayer clone that had not inherited the awareness gene or appetite supressants.
Cost me the bundle i had on Belgium.
Then again, maybe it was my fault.
Sorry for the curse, Jason.
I will be backing against Wales again in the semi.
So that’s them a shoe-in for the final.
Rocktree@11.55
If that was the case ie the ” glad to be away” comment that would change my perception of Jason.
Wouldn’t want him within an asses roar of my Celtic.

Ps
Blogs quiet this morning/afternoon
So ye are all having a nice cosy chat here and are telling no one. Bloody cliques. Anyhow I kept up my “last man” record.
I was saying that last night, Paul67. He was excellent for us. Maybe, he could rediscover some sort of form at Parkhead.

Is that the interview where it says he`s still has`nt agreed terms on an improved contract yet, still on £6,000 a week, surprising as it was announced the day after Rodgers was unveiled, that his wages were to be doubled.
Oh and that new signings Barton, Rossiter, and Kranjcar, are to miss out opening cup tie against Motherwell due to lack of fitness.
Seems like a badly planned pre-season to me. considering we`ve been reading in the press since January, that the magic hat, leaves no stones unturned in his preparations, and has already identified young hungry players, with a good sell on value in mind for the for next season.
Don`t think you could agree Gilks. Clint Hill. Barton. and Kranjcar exactly meet these requirements.
Rossiter and crooks do, but I believe they are both injured, and struggling to make the start of the season.
never mind you`ve still got young talent like Kenny Miller to fall back on.
my prediction is that that you will just survive a relegation dog fight, but only if King opens the war chest in january, or if you manage to get an out of contract player called Mason in.
we all know how much a free Mason would help, to make sure newco stay up.

Good read that, thanks for posting..
“Kenny Miller believes…” is becoming the new “Mark Hateley says…”
Today it’s…”Kenny Miller believes Mark Warbuton will go on to become England manager.”…..pure piffle.
“Kenny Miller believes in the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny.”
HH!!
I see sevco are searching the Euros hooligan videos for new signings…
