Delighted for Wales last night but what’s happened to Jason Denayer? Since ending his loan period at Celtic a year ago he’s made 15 starts for Galatasaray. He was hooked on four of those occasions, which is a high percentage substituted for a defender. Gala won their first four league games with Jason in the team but won only once in his final 10 appearances. The point was made to me last night that he looked overweight.
In his 12 months at Celtic he polished his rough edges and established himself as a top performer in the most effective defence we’ve had in years. Manchester City were not prepared to let him return to Celtic as the reckoned he simply wasn’t being stretched.
He signed a new contract at Man City before heading for Turkey, but their new management team are unlikely to promote him to their first team squad. He’s unlikely to have impressed anyone at the Euros and Galatasaray won’t be as keen as Celtic were to have him back.
Is it possible we’re the only ones who know what he’s capable of? I’d have him back tomorrow.

So, in effect we have had four mini games under our new coach, personally am delighted with what I have seen so far, a vast improvement, the best stuff for some time if I may say so.

Good to see 7 out of 22 players used all came through our academy, and none of them look out of place

I was just thinking that same thing, The links are poor, jittery and buffer. But i do see posters complaining about Celtic Tv doing the same.
On the Game , Great wee run out, Looked a bit tired towards the end which is to be expected. Graz are no dumplings. Allan, Christie, Ajer all looked great. 3 very handy players by the looks. Wee need more goals in the team though.

As has been said, all depends on what broadband you have, it’s total garbage for me, I can get it fine on a stream but not direct from Celtic, it was explained why, Celtic need to upgrade their servers basicly.

I knovw it’s only a pre season kick about,but a Celtic win still gladdens my heart.
Well done the Hoops against a team 4th in their Bundeslig last season. Ball retention at times not great, and no service to the Griff. Some good performances, but no commentary made it difficult to pick out individuals, though the Magners brothers put in some shift. Well done to the fans who made it to a really beautiful country.
Only caught the second half but thought we were poor. Other than the centre backs who provided an excellent combination thought there was very little else to enthuse about sadly. Playing Armstrong wide left is certainly not the answer.
We are moving in the right direction.
Some very positive moments especially from the younger guys.
Ralston looks like an old fashioned no nonsense full back.
Janko looks ready.
McCart is very assured for one so young.
O’Connell has rough edges but is a player.
Ajer oozes class.
Christie will be a star.
Hnderson is very good.
Allan in the right system will flourish.
Established players, Armstrong, Mcgregor, Keiran and Paddy in flashes looked good. LG trying too hard? Two games in and the pace is very fast, KC better be down the gym a lot before he comes back, Not sure he can play to this tempo and reading Brendan’s comments today he will be looking elsewhere i’d imagine. Allan as his replacement.

Young Ralston looks well off the pace, very noticeable that when our captain came on ( i know it was his first outing for a while) that our game deteriorated badly, he was very one paced and lacks mobility.

Ralston was very good……a no nonsense right back. Holding him up to KTs really high standards though does he lack a yard of pace?
O’ Connell is probably too slow to make it. I don’t think Lindsay will make it with us either.
Christie, Henderson, Janko and Ajer all looked really good.
Am I missing something with Allan? He doesn’t offer enough in those attacking midfield positions. We badly missed Rogic today. For me Armstrong, Forrest, Christie, Rogic and Roberts all offer more than Allan. He’s not a bad player…..he just doesn’t do enough.
Decent showing from Celts –
+ve feeling about progress. Players tested and sugns of quicker movement of ball. Pressing evident but not leaving gaps behind – like it.
Like:
Goalkeeping – is sorted at Celtic – very, very relaxed & happy
Ralston similar in style attitude to Tierney – a tremendous endorsement to development structure!!
Ajer – cool classy and +ve inclinations – did I detect a bit of pace there?
Erik – steady!
Tierney – roling on from last term looking more assured.. High hopes!!
Janko – looks better forward than defence.
Christie, mobile and direct likevit!!
Allen has cass & vision but maybe slow on execution … Can learn!!

I thought Allan created a lot today.
And he did set up our only goal.
The first half we had better movement and shape.
No idea what Brendan will do with the plethora of midfielders we have.
But think Nir and JF will go.
Would like to see Ajer in Nir’s position as he can tackle.pass and shows good ability to read the game.

He is reported talking about his time at Swansea.
He dropped his captain, Gary Monk and replaced him with a teenager, who he thought would perform the role better.
He explained his decision to his captain and assured him of his value to the club, including emphasis on his on coaching career.

Obviously Broonie knows the score, and he is doing his bit re coaching, for the best if you ask me, he really isny up to scratch if what we are seeing is the future.
A massive upgrade on last season imo and the players know it.
I doubt we will see Commons or Mulgrew in a Celtic shirt again.

TET I think it was from Brendan, Saying he was versatile. I thought at the time it made sense, Like Jackie and Tom Boyd when they got older, Good for cover in Def and Md is needed but not first picks. But watching us in Slovenia i have my doubts him or KC will be able to handle the pace of our game under Brendan.

watched the game on neolive and got terrific picture with great camera angles well worked/timed replays not sure if it was Celtic tv pictures as only crowd noise players shouts and ended with Austrian/german interview with Sturm Graz captain
