Why Brendan will get what he wants

468

Brendan Rodgers is a master of what to say and what not to say.  Blame, well, “I can’t fault the players”.  So not the players then.  He adds, “However, if you want to progress, then, as I said, you need to bring in quality.”  Is that pointing the finger of blame?  There’s plausible deniability; I’m sure if asked directly, Brendan would wax lyrical about the support he received from Dermot and Michael, but plausible deniability does not cut through publicly in football.  You, me and Brendan know that.

Martin O’Neill made it clear at an AGM 20-something years ago.  With Dermot Desmond sitting a few seats along from him, he explained that it was not his job to worry about development, finances or sustainability.  His job, as he saw it, was to campaign for better players.  It was up to the board to hold their line and worry about what they needed to worry about.  Martin was always charmingly frank.

The upshot for today is a degree of urgency which means the manager will inevitably get what he wants, just like last summer, when we spent £26m on Idah, Engels and Trusty.  Celtic have the money to back Brendan like this again, I fully expect they will.

  1. As for our CL performance I doubt many would have thought we would not have got to a last 24 position given the fixtures we had drawn. I have yet to hear anyone who could have handpicked easier fixtures for us. Go try do that for yourself.

    ———–

Before a ball was kicked I dint think we would progress.

Based on past performance it really didnt matter who we had in the draw.

Remembering we win an away cl game every 20 years or so.

And fortress Parkhead hasnt been a thing for 20 years also.

so i thought ever team ranked above us would beat us. were we a pot 3 team last year ?

I expected to lose against Dortmund, Leipzig, Villa and Atlanta.

    Beat Bratislava and Young boys,

and with hope draws against zagreb and brugge.

When the draw was made, nobody knew we would be facing the 3 lowest finishing teams.

The manner of the Slovan 5-1 victory suprided me, only to be brough back to doom by the Dortmund game.

We then didn lose any of the next 5 FIVE fixtures, when was the last time we did that in europe ?

I put it on the manager actually being more pragmatic. Not giving tthe ball away is eseential.

Conversely, I worry more about us this year. With some good fortune we will be a pot 4 team.

The fixtures may not be as kind, but I our best chance of success – is in fact the manager.

If I am doing my job, I want my employer to provide the tools to do it well. If the tools are not provided the employer is at fault, if the tools are provided and i dont do the job i am at fualt. Brandon Rodgers has every right to express his need for the correct tools to do the job expected of him. If it all goes tit’s up you can be sure the board will be quick to avoid any blame.

We will likely play around 60 games this season. Everybody and their granny can see we have a reasonably good starting team but in some key areas more quality is clearly needed. The most obvious area lacking is out wide.

Is it ordinary Joe Blogs white people who have for centuries written the curriculum and history books, and ahem, holy books which prohibit all of the above from being taught about in schools, etc?

In short, Spikeys, what group of people could possibly have had the means $+€+£ to facilitate all of the above and, so, so, so, much more?

Is it KevJungle’s fault that woke empty heads got KOJO removed from CQN when he warned you all about what was coming down the track to destroy us all?

Do the WPB only allow British people? If they are standing in Britain I think it`ll only be British people who live in Britain who are allowed to vote for them if that is what you mean?

WPB are driven by James Connolly’s working class principles yes.

Would James Connolly have happy clapped tens of thousands of all non white undocumented men, no women or children with them, so therefore NOT refugees?!?! and being put at the front of the queue before the ordinary Joe Blogs white Irish majority of population, thousands of whom have been sleeping on the streets for decades?

    Hmmmm?!

The Dublin area etc, etc, non-woke Irish people who are sick of being lied to and gaslit about bs like, “white privilege” and constantly being put to the back of the queue by the new people, and guess what, they are seeing a unexpected commonality with like minded Green and Orange folk from the 6 counties who also don’t want their children gender-bendered, poisoned, and lied to by dodgy creeps in schools, government, media etc, all of these non-woke, are ordinary Joe Blogs workers as well, THAT, is the rock we build upon.

They know who is responsible for all of the above, and they refuse to listen to anymore bs about, democracy, and other blatant lies.

The last thing that the money changers who have caused all of the above and so much more evil carnage, want to see is ordinary Joe Blogs white, black, brown, yellow, etc people seeing that their differences were manufactured in one way or another by the money changers, ensuring that we keep being divided whilst the evil mob get richer.

The establishment want to use the Corbyn Party to crush the WPB.

Why do you think that the people who smeared Corbyn for 7 years as an anti-semite are now financing and controlling him?

Why do you think the media have stopped calling Corbyn an anti-semite?

Why do the establishment feel terrified about just under 500,000 people voting for WPB whilst it was and almost still is subject to 100% Media Suppression[that is election rigging] anti imperialist, anti settler-colonialist, etc, etc, most James Connolly like political party in British history?

Some media, and especially controlled opposition media like, novara media, say that Galloway is anti gay because he thinks being pro family is what God intended us to be, and that he is being evil when he said that: “If everyone was gay then it would not be long until there would be zero human race left.”

George Galloway is the most feared politician for the British establishment, since Gerry Adams. Mr Adams was going to set Ireland free, now Galloway is more likely to do that, and without a border poll and the carnage that would bring.

How? By getting rid of the lizards Royal Family, and immediately, Britain and Ireland become Republic’s.

No real Tim would vote against that. Surely?

In next years Scottish elections, the WPB are offering 100% Independence with immediate effect of a winning vote going their way. But, it will be Independent of NATO, EU, London’s rigged financial system, and immediately digging up Scotland’s, Coal, Oil, Gas, etc, and spending it on the Scottish people, immediately.

There will be no Snp “A big boy from Westminster did it and ran away” 17 years of grifting bs.

WPB fear no foe, are bold and brave, THAT, is why they are feared!

Its time to march with Gerry Adams Galloway CSC

Brendan said a while ago that he wasnt going to do it anymore, it was counterproductive and didnt help.

We had a terrible run after his comments about needing quality back in November 2023, hearing constantly about the shortcomings in the squad seemed to knock their confidence, even the captain was said we needed better players, and the atmosphere around the club got so bad that by January we were getting booed at Celtic park even though we were winning and well clear at the top.

Its a risky strategy but he obviously thinks its worth the potential downsides.

I dont think Brendan Rodgers at Celtic is your typical employment situation. This is what he said when he first came back:

“It’s pretty simple in terms of how it works. Ultimately, I will develop and coach the players the club provide me. And then the process of the club providing me players is that we have a great network of scouts headed up my Mark (Lawwell) who has done a fantastic job working within the model of the club which allows the club to be sustainable and successful at the same time.

“They have a pipeline of players there that all fit in and it’s picking the profile that fits us best and of course I have a role in that. But they do a lot of the great work, watch players over numbers of months so that they have various players in each position. So whenever we do lose one there is a replacement to come in, like you see with Gustaf (Lagerbielke). But it’s not always straightforward, it always takes time. Ultimately I will coach and develop the players I’m provided.”

  12. St Stivs

Surely 11 points would make the 24 stage ?

That draw is easiest teams I reckon but would prefer Frankfurt at home and Villarreal away plus Red Star home and Ferencvaros away plus Bodo home and Prague away.

What is the relevance of Ange being sacked ?

He took his team to CL, winning a European Trophy despite significant recruitment constraints.

As for our CL performance I doubt many would have thought we would not have got to a last 24 position given the fixtures we had drawn. I have yet to hear anyone who could have handpicked easier fixtures for us. Go try do that for yourself.

    ——————————————————

He was well used to “recruitment constraints” coming from Celtic, maybe that’s what attracted Spurs to Ange months before he eventually admitted to Dermot, he was jumping ship, albeit less dramatically than Brendan first time round, but leave he did.

Constraints for £60M strikers and £40M midfielders? and the worst league finish in Tottenham’s history? A European trophy bought him a few weeks into summer, just ahead of a tsunami of supporter opinion, that had actually watched his teams and wanted him gone, long before.

The ‘easy draw’ absurdity has been discredited, if not laughed out loud at, ad nauseum on here. The new format draw can’t be compared to Ange, or any previous managers.

It’s not that hard to ask what price a club want and decide if you are in same ballpark, if so either put trigger or work towards bridging the gap, if not move on. There is absolutely no need to waste time. When it comes to the players it is likely more complex be ause you are asking them to move countries, family ties, childen etc. so some grace should be given but not unlimited time.
