Whyte integral to Miller’s future plans for Rangers

301

I don’t know anything about Bill Miller’s connections, neither does anyone else apparently, but we can be sure of one of two things.

Miller’s convoluted proposal is wholly dependent of him working in concert with Craig Whyte.  As owner of Rangers Football Club PLC, Whyte would stand to be an equity partner in the newly merged company (Miller has made no offer for his shares).

This option would not be possible unless Whyte and Miller are working together.

Miller’s proposal blows a whole the size of Ibrox through the notion that Rangers recent legislative troubles were all down to Craig Whyte who would soon no longer be part of the club.  He is an integral part of the advertised strategy (no matter how unlikely you reckon that strategy is to play out).

The SFA Judicial Appeals Panel must not be intimidated into thinking otherwise.

If Miller has taken a genuine punt (figuratively speaking, I hear he declined to pay the exclusivity bond) without doing a deal with Whyte, his advances will be rejected and Whyte will no doubt take legal action in the coming days to further protect his assets – you don’t think moving the floating charge to a different offshore company last month was to boost Caribbean tourism do you?

In this case, Duff and Phelps would be unable to conclude a deal to sell Rangers and would have to prepare for this scenario soon.  I reckon there is at least a 50% chance this will be the case.

More later, time permitting, ahead of the CSA Rally tonight!!

ernie lynch, for what it’s worth, I would vote against Celtic deciding to go out of business.

I appreciate you would rather see Celtic take this route.

This, again, is another issue which has the potential to divide Celtic and cause untold damage to our club at the very time when unity is absolutely necessary.

Perhaps I could extend my earlier invitation….

As dividing Celtic at such a crucial time has enormous consequences for the club, I will do everything in my power to get you the chance to put your position direct to those in charge of our club. If you would like to let them know how you feel they should progress, instead of simply blowing off steam on a blog (with potentially divisive consequences for Celtic), then email me: celticquicknews@gmail.com.

While I appreciate you didn’t want to look the decision makers in the eye and explain your position to them on the other matter, I am sure this issue, which (coincidentally) also sets fans against club, is too important to let slip.

Or maybe you just don’t feel it’s that important after all?

Can’t promise any meeting but it’s incumbent on me to do what I can. Look forward to hearing from you and hope this will take care of all your worries that will pitch Celtic fans against each other.

I am a bit puzzled about why Rankers are presenting the no 12 shirt to the supporters. My old man always told me that the referee was their 12th man and celtic played against 14 players every week (before subs were invented).

Surely they should be giving the supporters the no 15?

if the CSA and the Trust were given the rubber ear yesterday by Peter Lawwell… or at least that how it was publicised then I cannot see how your very kind offer towards Ernie would help.

Do you also consider that a Newco not in the top SPL would be a vote for Celtic going out of business ?

I doubt that Windy Miller is in cohoots with MBB , although for the mad-cap plan to work , they will both need to come to an accommodation.

On the bigger picture, it seems clear (!) that the plan all along has been to liquidate after the season ends, which means that Whitey and Duff £ Phelps can get out of town, with all their body parts still functioning.

After liquidation on Monday 14 May 2012 , contrary to popular belief, I suspect that there will be no NewCo established this summer, as the legal mess left by Whitey & Duff £ Phelps will ensure that the practical aspects of issuing season books and the use of Ipox is in limbo.

The only way out of this is for Dignity to receive fresh cash , Windy Miller’s £11M ain’t going to do it, rather a massive share offering will need to be organised by a trustworthy Dignity supporter (with some business acumen). Thus far, this type of individual has been in short supply. When the FTT and the SFA enquiry hits , Paul Murray will be barred from being involved in Scottish football , his reputation in tatters, so who will step forward?

If the maliase goes longer than 6 months without visible progress then we are into Monty Python territory with many different versions of the Judean front emerging claiming to be Rangers.

The likely scenario is no Newco , massive legal wrangles, SFA removing leagues and cups, with I believe the strong possiblity of a withdrawal of football license for any club called Rangers playing in blue at Ipox. I suggest that UEFA will demand measures in extremis , as their competitions have been cheated during the last decade or so.

Paul i think its time you me and everyone else put this rangers thing to bed,Lets start to talk about all things celtic, me i have a couple of points ,ist whe was the stadia re built ,why because looking at the structure thats around the stadium have a look its looking if there is a lot of rust there needs a good overhaul shabby is not the word im looking for.and can something not be done about the main stand ,its fine if you are in the posh seats for viewing, but if you are like me sitting in the front stand close to the dugout its terrible for viewing, maybe we should as supporters push this for something to be done, who at celtic can i write to regarding this matter.well overdue if you ask me.all the billions that dermot desmond has he cant even upgrade the whole stadium ..but then i suppose its right what they say about him he is never there to oversee thest things,

    1) Just what exactly would Bill Miller be buying if his bid is accepted? I understood that Our Hero had security over ipox, doeshe lose this if the admins accept this miserly bid?

    2) Who is paying for the huns card display? Can the admins spend money on something like this which does not generate revenue for the other creditors?

I am certainly not comfortable with anyone putting undue pressure on any journalist to respond to a request put to him, by enlisting the help of fellow supporters with a view to inundating him with tweets in an effort to force his hand. Or do you really believe you have a divine right to a response from this or any other journalist, and hell mend him if he should exercise his right not to respond?

Bill Miller is as likely to become the owner of ranjurz as I am. The notion that a ‘preferred bidder’ means anything is laughable. If it’s true it’s also open to legal challenge.

Swifty & Shifty are not there to protect the interests of the fans, laptop loyal, SPL/SFA or the fabric of Scottish society. They are supposed to protect the interests of creditors. Therefore they should have removed the highest paid staff from the pay bill as soon as they entered the building, they should have immediately entered discussions with creditors with regards to a CVA and they should have also identified ownership and liabilities.

What appears to have happened is that they (dumb & dumber) have spent a vast amount of time on nonsensical discussions with ‘prospective buyers’, introduced ‘redundancy-lite’ for all employees, aligned themselves with some deeply dubious people and introduced a bidding process for something which is 85% owned by someone who they have stated is ‘irrelevant’.

How would the signing of Daniel Cousin helped creditors?

The PAYE and NI was deducted from salaries, where is it?

What will happen to the litigation due to go forward in October 2012?

Bill Miller has acquired ‘preferred bidder’ status’ with a bid of £11.2M, what is this bid based on?

This bid is without due diligence, it is in effect a blind bid, what will Bill Miller actually own if he is successful?

What is Bill Miller Fit & Proper for?

Were Stan & Ollie involved in the ‘discussions’ that Bill Miller claims to have had (with the regulators) about future sanctions against ranjurz(ia)?

Why (if true) was Bill Miller allowed to have discussions (and apparently given ‘comfort’) with regulators about matters which have yet to be decided by an independent panel?

There is absolutely no expectation on the LL to research, let alone print the truth. However the DR front page today is a disgrace, Graham Speirs told listeners that he had spoken to someone and they thought that the TBB’s plan was viable and possible.

Took my son to the game last night, Thai tims, Green Brigade, excellent. A real family friendly atmosphere. One chant of ‘stand up if you hate ranjurz’ my son asked me why I wasn’t standing up, I told him that we were there to support Celtic, ranjurz will cease to exist ( in any form) in two weeks’ time, what’s to hate?

My position is that if the SPL determine to allow a newco huns straight into the SPL the Celtic Board should threaten to, and if it came to it actually, resign from the SPL and, in the absence of any alternative, apply for membership of the SFL. In effect they say to the SPL ‘You can’t have the Old Firm. You either have us, or you have the newco huns, but you can’t have both.’ That would negate every single argument in favour of the proposal. My view is that faced with such an ultimatum the SPL would refuse the newco huns entry. If they didn’t, then frankly I don’t understand why anyone who claims to be a Celtic fan would not prefer the third division to the SPL.

Here’s an idea. Copy and paste my posts to whoever it is you have in mind at Celtic. That’ll save my time and theirs. If they want to respond, let them. I regard your offer as patronising and, as I said earlier, I don’t think it’s the way that Celtic should be conducting its business. If Celtic have a plan, they should share it with the fans, all of us. If they consider they need to keep any such plan confidential, they won’t, and shouldn’t, share it with me.

My worries will be taken care of when it’s clear there will be no newco huns in the SPL. I don’t think I’m alone in that view.

  21. In the early part of this season when we were struggling, I thought that Neil lacked proper coaching support. My opinion was that Mjalby and Thommo were good cheerleaders but not likely to provide tactical insight from the touchline or improve tactics back on the training ground. Defenders kept making the same mistakes, forwards kept failing to score etc.

Our title win is deserved and came on the back of a number of great performances in the middle of the season before we started to blow hot and cold again over the last few weeks.

So . . . would Neil benefit from having a number 2 who is a genuine training-ground coach (perhaps with European experience from La Liga or Serie A or the EPL) or does he gain more from having his two mates around him?

I’m not thinking of an auld heid who’s been there and done it all or someone who is looking to be no.1 – rather someone who’s best job is as an assistant and who is highly effective working in the background.

i researched his business history… left a post here yesterday (which was awaiting moderation, don’t know why, links, too long, anyway…) a word of caution.

from what i’ve learned of miller’s previous business practices

    1) he set up his own company and has run it as chairman for over 20 years. he sounds like a regular blue collar guy. he refuses to take a bonus (which he is entitled to) and lives of a modest £200,000 salary a year (relatively modest). this is not the typical profile of a carpet bagger.

    2) i can find no link either concrete or speculative that he would have any links to craig whyte whatsoever. he is not a financial investor per se, or a venture capitalist. he appears to govern with a very hands on approach as you’d expect from a guy who built a monopoly from nothing.

    3) he did have a disastrous foray into motorsport, but this was related to his core industry (the automotive industry).

    4) he has relinquished 50% of the holding he had in miller industries in the last year (now only 3.1%). this means his combined cash/shares wealth has a value of around £8.5M. he had no major share movements for years prior so he does seem to be preparing to buy something.

    5) he was part of a consortium previously to buy both sheffield wednesday, and tranmere rovers. the part he played, or level of his involvement is not clear. certainly, he did not realise his shares into liquid assets on any considerable scale to do so.

i doubt any preconceived link to whyte. frankly, i think he’s just a muppet who can’t distinguish between the riches of the premiership, and the insularity of the SPL.

if anybody would like to see the accurate financials (all official) i can try to figure out a way to get them out, but as i understand it, email addresses aren’t allowed, so any suggestions are welcome. i have it saved as a word doc.
