Whyte is still the only bidder and he didn’t even bid

1027

It was theoretically possible someone could have bid for Rangers today but it was always more likely that interim-managers, Duff and Phelps, would get offers that were dependent on a remarkably positive upside.

Sure, if HRMC get their bums handed to them on a plate by the First Tier Tribunal (FTT), Craig Whyte decides to tear up his security on Ibrox and Ticketus forget where they put the contract of sale for the next three years season tickets, even I’d bid for them.  Not much, though, I’m only interested in Waitrose Park out at Milngavie.

There is nothing Duff and Phelps can do about the FTT but wait for the verdict.  It might report in their favour.  If so, it’s game on and they will surely invite offers for sale again, until then, they will have to shuffle paper and look busy.

No one has been able to shift Craig Whyte’s security or offered to buy Ibrox from him, so he is the only real bidder for Rangers and I don’t think he even bid today.  Our old friend Game Theory would have us busy planning for a scenario when he exercises his power in this game.  Ostracising him might encourage him to walk away, or it might force him to dig his heels in.

Game Theory would also suggest we don’t play poker when we know the other guy has four aces, they don’t often walk away.

Pay the man or find a way of telling yourself he’s not that bad after all.

as you well know, I can tell you from experience (many times over!) that they never make an exception………….

hamiltontim – Hamilton is basically an ersatz Coatbridge, so you would say that. (thumbsup)

Can you explain what Dumb and Dumber are up to? Other than cashing in big time.

  6. Just heard my bid is in with a shout.

Apparently i’m the only bidder without a criminal record

or a pending tax case against them.

    6 ginger bottles it is.

Bet Waitrose don’t do anything as good as I am partaking in just now, in fact I know for sure they don’t.

    A Lidl special :>)))

Dominik Diamond is a hero of mine. I was astounded of forehead when he was briefly replaced by Dextah Fletcha.

He’s a good Celtic man too.

Also, Sir Patrick Moore is the greatest living Englishman. (thumbsup)

  10. petec

    you are so right, twice.

I remember the excitement when, after years of waiting for the follow-up to Leftism, we found out they soundtracked this.

The difficult 2nd album, when it came, was a disappointment to be honest, but there was some brilliant stuff on it.

Song of Life (which I have linked specifically to you at least once, and on this site often) still gives me vivid mood flashbacks to many great clubbing experiences.

When the synth eases in after about two minutes, then the layers kick in quickly between 3 and 4 minutes…”work it…work it…work it…” and the place fkng explodes.

Fk it, for the uninitiated or those who have simply forgotten…

…stand up, close your eyes, lift your hands high to a sweaty roof, turn the volume up and stand halfway between your speakers, and go…

  12. Celtic 3 – Rangers 0 \\// Rangers 00 – Celtic 7??

We will see tomorrow just how committed Rangers players are now that they are being paid what they should have been earning.

I think DU will win by at least 2 goals and Rangers are going down like a turd being flushed away. If Neil wants it badly at Ibroke Celtic can take the 7 off them to be recorded for ever this time.

  13. philvisreturns on

THE EXILED TIM – My dear bhoy, I like Lidl too, but it’s hard to keep up that ironic Jarvis Cocker-eque appreciation a place where the slack-jawed regulars probably think Carmina Burana is a woman with a penchant for wearing fruit on her head. (thumbsup)

  14. CRC,

maybe I jumped the gun in my assumption.

Penfold is a top mhan……….but once again work travel has forced me into a change of plan.

Cant make the game now, also going to miss the party at Ibrokes, although I will have the company of the SingTims as a substitute. But instead of a celebratory sesh and the Monday off, it’ll be 2 or 3 Tiger and a full day on a Shell refinery in 90+ deg heat. Not good whilst in full PPE!

  17. crc, I didn’t notice the link creator either until tonight . I assume its been there ever since Paul upgraded the site, but it wasn;t in its normal place on the left, and I;’m too old to cope with such a dramatic change.

Just as well ah’m no a hun eh!

  18. philvisreturns,

DD is quality and you are right Sir Pat is a legend, unlike that other Sir who has ruined Scottish football. JAIL HIM.

    tarrant,

Leftfield are quality, I have posted a few Sabres of Paradise (the name is apt for Celtic aficionados) tracks on here and they too done a few adverts. Red Stripe being one back in the day I think????

    SFTB, ha!

    The Lizard King, indeed.

bankiebhoy1, missed opportunity. Need to set that as a challenge, get Sir David to sign his photo on CQN Magazine.

Mr X, today’s was on the house.

EXILED TIM, just a wee coincidence.

the long wait is over, aye, the appeal could come but if the verdict gives them hope it will establish some confidence.

PFayr, not on my tab today.

ASonOfDan, no need for Close Bros to come forward. Their security is secure. No one has challenged, or will challenge.

Philvisreturns, I’m not acquainted with Waitrose but heard today they had an interest out there.

Kojo, yes. It is perfectly clear.

Whyte must be bought out. The sooner they figure this out, the sooner the real plans start. The longer they wait and the more they demonise him, the more trouble there will be.

Tarrant, link creator was restored a couple of days ago – thanks to our man Andrew.
