Sterling work by Chris McLaughlin at the BBC who brought us the news that Duff and Phelps have rejected a bid for Rangers from Brian Kennedy, the owner English rugby club, Sale Sharks. Earlier today Kennedy suggested the administrators get their act together and move towards appointing a preferred bidder.
A preferred bidder may now be identified, if not yet publicly announced.
I can imagine the process to whittle bidders down:
‘Tell me, do you own Ibrox Stadium or security and floating charge over it?’
‘No? Ah, that’s a problem, as we don’t have it either. Where do you propose to play matches?’
‘Forget that one, someone tipped off St Mirren.’
‘Don’t take that tone with me, we’re doing our best in difficult circumstances and we’ve not been paid a pound. Yet.’
Craig Whyte controls the security and floating charge over Ibrox. He provided Ticketus with security for the money they due on the season tickets they purchased, worth in the region of £40m.
Mr Whyte and Ticketus, or a proxy, are the only show in town – and that show is not a CVA. Everything else is just shooting the breeze at £600 per hour.

Thursday on Celtic TV: Neil Lennon’s weekly exclusive interview
By: Gregor Kyle on 29 Mar, 2012 14:08
AFTER an undefeated run that propelled Celtic back into a commanding lead in the title race, Neil Lennon was slightly bemused to hear his team labelled ‘bottlers’ in the wake of two defeats.
And as the Celtic manager explained in his weekly exclusive interview on Celtic TV, queries about his players’ courage and character are not warranted.
Speaking on tonight’s Huddle Online on the club’s official online channel, the manager said: “A lot of these people are on the outside looking in, looking for any excuse they can find to have a pop at the team.
“Our fans and certainly myself and the backroom team are immensely proud with the way the players have played this season and the way they have handled the pressure.
“Whoever it is that wants to have a go at this team, if that’s the best they can do, they need to go back and re-evaluate the way they do things.”
The manager goes on to give a measured appraisal of Sunday’s defeat, without the ‘emotion’ that colours many reports in the immediate wake of the final whistle.
“What happens after these matches is that there is a knee-jerk reaction, where everything goes into hyperbole,” he said.
“If people actually sit and watch the game again, we didn’t start great and Rangers scored a great individual goal. After that our reaction was fantastic and we forced Allan McGregor into making two world-class saves and for me, that doesn’t show a lack of commitment or lack of quality.”
In tonight’s interview, the manager goes on to talk about the club’s Youth Academy, stating that he hopes to introduce more young players before the end of the season. He also singles out James Forrest for praise, with the 20-year-old having again been a stand-out this season.
“For him to play 46 games is testament to the boy,” said the manager, “and he is still a boy and has been one of the best players in the country by a long, long way. We missed him on Sunday and the dynamism and power he brings to the team. I think he is a wonderful talent, who has had a wonderful season.”

Thanks, the bit about real and personal rights is the bit where I got lost but your clarification confirms my layman understanding of the situation where I read it could end up in years of litigation or even Ticketus suing their lawyers for misguiding them in the sale.

”If a contract is concluded in Scotland (for example) but includes a clause saying that English law should apply, is that binding on both sides?”
Yes.
”And what is the advantage to changing juristiction anyway?”
In this case I suspect it’s because English law gives Ticketus a stronger position in that they seem to have more than just a personal right though not quite a real right. There also seems to be some suggestion of a trust relationship being created regarding the right to the ticket sales. It’s complicated stuff. The idea that Lord Hodge’s judgement is the last word on all this is wishful thinking.
Auldheid,
Me or Neil Lennon ?
Once I thought I saw you
in a crowded hazy bar,
Dancing on the light
from star to star.
Far across the moonbeam
I know that’s who you are,
I saw your brown eyes
turning once to fire.
You are like a hurricane
There’s calm in your eye.
And I’m gettin’ blown away
To somewhere safer
where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but
I’m getting blown away.
I am just a dreamer,
but you are just a dream,
You could have been
anyone to me.
Before that moment
you touched my lips
That perfect feeling
when time just slips
Away between us
on our foggy trip.
You are like a hurricane
There’s calm in your eye.
And I’m gettin’ blown away
To somewhere safer
where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but
I’m getting blown away.
You are just a dreamer,
and I am just a dream.
You could have been

I think church denominations are a distraction
I think religion and tradition can sometimes be a hindrance to moving on
I put my faith in God and Jesus and try to live in peace with everyone, that in itself is a hard enough task, for me anyway..
I think of all who share my faith in God as spiritually a brother or a sister
Come the day, we’ll see how it all works out.

My old Da used to say to me ‘don’t start fights, avoid idiots, if any of them start on you get wired in and walk away the winner… But best bet is to avoid it’
That’s how I feel right now. SFA / refs / Huns are all idiots best avoided… Particularly as we have already won.
There’s a lot to watch if we step back right now. Let them turn on each other… It’s bound to happen. Right now we are in danger of getting caught up in stuff that we can easily avoid.

Wonkyradar: Skeletor didn’t own Castle Greyskull, that belonged to the King and Queen of Eternia and was defended by Adam and his trusty cat Cringer aka He-Man and Battle-Cat. Skeletor could only legitimately re-mortgage his own home Snake Mountain home to his own scowling cat known as Panthor. So this could actually reflect the Ibrox situation if the Ticketus deal was done before Whyte bought the place!

Re: Dundee United situation with the theiving Huns –
Why don’t Celtic, as a magnanimous gesture in keeping with the Hun muppet’s statement, pay Dundee United from the Ibrox ticke tmoney we still owe, and deduct the sum before paying Der Huns?
This should clear up all this confusion about contracts.

Ah Teela…………….childhood memories flooding back…………………………
malceye,
It was prompted by the Ticketus situation, but I was thinking wider. I know, for example, that the sale agreement from Murray to Wavetower (as was) states that it is governed by English law – which may or may not become important one day.
ernie lynch,
Thanks. That kind of gets to my confusion. If one side thinks that a certain juristiction would potentially favour it, then why would the other side agree to it? I suppose it all comes down to interpretations of how future rulings might go.

We know that there is a lot of innuendo from these double talking jive masters. People in business are in business. That is to say, the reason for being in business is to make money. The bidders can wrap it up in all the flowery niceties they like, in the end someone has to be making money.
It’s like the “Angel investors”, a name they give to themselves. You don’t get something for nothing. They want a return.
So when they say “in the best interest of the fans” they don’t actually mean the fans best interest. In fact what they do mean is in their own best interest. They need the fans to keep turning up and putting money in. Or since there is so much uncertainty here, what they don’t want to do is piss off fans, so that when this is over and there is a newco, oldco or whatever thety still have punters willing to cough up dosh and pay to watch a game. You do know that no matter who gets the carcas, the MSM will be saying it is “in the fans best interest”.
It is in our best interest that there are several parties fighting for the scraps and all proclaiming they are doing so “in the fans best interest”. It is in our best interest that this continues to be dragged through the courts. It is in our best interests that Duff and Duffer continue at the rudder.
Don’t believe the hype. There’s is a sinking ship.
Bids for Huns down to 2…it’s a countdown…!
My views on Whyte are changing.
I thought he wanted to liquidate, cash in SMS reemerge with gone stake in Newco. All of this with him having the best interests of the Huns and his bank account in mind.
Beginning to wonder if he has just been on a mission to destroy the Huns from the start. Smashing Fella!

Or…I suppose it depends on how desperate you were to sell ?

It’s too dark
to put the keys
in my ignition,
And the mornin’ sun is yet
to climb my hood ornament.
But before too long I might
see those flashing red lights
Look out, mama,
’cause I’m comin’ home tonight.
Think I’ll
roll another number
for the road,
I feel able to get under any load.
Though my feet
aren’t on the ground,
I been standin’ on the sound
Of some open-hearted people
goin’ down.
I’m not goin’ back
to Woodstock for a while,
Though I long to hear
that lonesome hippie smile.
I’m a million miles away
from that helicopter day
No, I don’t believe
I’ll be goin’ back that way.
Think I’ll
roll another number
for the road,
I feel able to get under any load.
Though my feet
aren’t on the ground,
I been standin’ on the sound
Of some open-hearted people
goin’ down.

That would be soooo funny!
see if the huns do drop point on Sat, there is gonna be an almighty party on Sunday.
According to the ticket thing on the official site there are only about 120 tickets left.
There are 2 sections with just 18 empty seats left and that’s the highest numbers, the other sections have just 1 or 2 spare.
hope McCoist or McCall does us a favour!!
