Whyte’s proxy set to step forward for acceptance by SFA, SPL

984

When Duff and Phelps put their initial deadline in place for bidders for Rangers back in March, Celtic Quick News took the view that Craig Whyte was the only show in town and that any successful bid for the company’s assets would have to come from him or his proxy.

We didn’t know who his proxy would be then and we are still not sure – although we could have a pretty good guess.

Place the current SPL and SFA dramas aside for a moment.  If a deal is done to allow a Rangers-Newco to apply to play football next season the new ‘owner’ will be a Craig Whyte appointment.

If this unfolds in the days to come, I fully expect the SFA will take a very long time to consider any Fit and Proper questions, and I expect the SPL board will vote 4-1 to allocate a share in the league to the Newco.

Celtic, united with their own fans, and fans of the Gang of 10 clubs stand in one corner.  The boards of the Gang of 10 want Rangers-Newco money too much to object.  Don’t even count on Newco being subject to the penalties discussed at yesterday’s meeting.

A CQN’er is raising funds for the Wellburn Care Home in Dundee.  Run by the Little Sisters of the Poor, Welburn offers incredible residential support for those in need in the Dundee area.  It is only a viable concern through the dedication of the sisters and volunteers and fundraising initiatives such as sales of work, coffee mornings etc.

You can support their work by bidding for a Celtic top signed by the first team squad at this eBay auction.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

The word is Miller will never get the guarantees for him to follow through the completion process. That’s why he has an “incubation” clause,so he can do walking away IMO.

ok lets see what happens when the platitudes have all run their course

and after a few hundred more renditions of foritzas we can learn to hate those

despicable newco’s for another 140 years as the fat slow masters grow obscene on young blood. Stupid is as stupid does.

  3. tommytwiststommyturns on

Margaret McGill – why are you talking about a civil action?

If all you say is true, then certain people/organisations should be investigated and tried for conspiracy to defraud a PLC.

As Kit has mentioned before on here, the City of London Police take a very dim view of such actions.

  4. If Rangers are allowed back into the SPL without sanctions, the obvious action for Celtic to take is to refuse to play them – obvious, but as Moonbeams says, likely to result in sanction s against Celtic. However, if our support were to boycott, not all away games but our games against thems, there could be no punishment against the club – and it would deliver a powerful financial message to all concerned (sorry if this is a recycling of what’s been said already).

Everything will be ok don’t fret.

They are fecked, look forward to it, they are finished.

The board will not get away with being wishy washy and saying that there was nothing they could do. They know how we feel and will act accordingly. If they don’t they know they are out of a job.

Your passion is evident and in no way am I making even the slightest attempt to persuade you to alter your position on this. Like wise I’m sure you realise that an attempt to persuade me also would prove futile :-)

For months my biggest concern has not been a newco or a billionnaire shiek landing from Pluto and saving them because when all is said and done I’m a Tim and that supercedes any feelings that I have towards them.

No my greatest worry was the split that would occur within the Celtic support should decisions be made which in any way make things easier for them. A chasm could yet result which would take years to cross.

”Yes I’ve heard proposals ranging from resigning from the league to us electing to enter the 3rd division next season. In my opinion that would be madness and makes absolutely no sense at all.”

Threatening to resign from the SPL would negate every argument in favour of allowing a newco huns straight into the league.

Is that statement correct or incorrect?

Of course ..why are the rules being changed now and not at any time in last 15 years. It is a conspiracy. It can be proven in court. I am convinced it can be. Celtic have the funds but do they have the will power?

My predictions as a great seer are as follows –

Newco enters 3rd and loses 90% of fan base.

B&Q see a brisk rise in business.

    Spot on.

How can you expect a respectable club like Celtic, a well known and respectable club known worldwide, and the fans of that club to turn up and pay good money to watch the Celtic play against a bunch of teenagers who have never kicked a competitive professional ball.

    Refuse to play them.

Cant say I’m sorry for Queen of the South.

  13. I am away to my bed but in simple terms aside from what Diddy Doncaster says

If a company (football or not ) run up a £15 million tax bill in PAYE and NI and pull off a switch from old to new company losing/waliking away from all debt etc Surely we have means/laws to go after the new company .

If not then no wonder the likes of Whyte and Windy Miller thrive.

  14. ernie

Surely that would depend on the perspective of the individuall Chief Executives of SPL clubs.

The custodians of Celtic need a vision that goes further than “whit are the huns daein?”…or “Whit are the new huns daein?” Look at the Portuguese or Dutch leagues…ok so they can only get to the CL quarter finals, but every now and again a Porto pops up or an Ajax or a PSV. Yes Celtic cannot compete EVER w/the top 10 in Europe in the current financial structure. Something else has to change. Step 1: Nae huns!

I for one would not miss them. I went for twenty five years without watching them at Celtic Park and I certainly did not miss them. I would do it again and not miss them. What would I miss? Their disgusting louts who pollute our atmosphere in their thousands with their illegal ,sectarian chants while Strathclyde police stand idly by. ? I don’t think so. Their thuggish players who kick lumps out of our footballers while the biassed referees stand idly by. I don’t think so.The ‘Game of Shame was my worst experienec in 60 years of watching Celtic, and they got off SCOT FREE! I would be delighted if Sunday’s drubbing was the last time I saw that pathetic shower!

HT, that’s the key question, and isn’t getting raised loudly enough in the media. I’ve seen tweets on this to various journos, but its not getting taken up. I’m glad we had 1994, it gives us a reference point – its not being used.

The challenge you’ll get is that TV money wasn’t what it is now. We’ve all seen figures on here which show that increased competitiveness, bring in (fairly marginal) increases in crowds, can compensate for this. Thats before we get into the argument that the TV money won’t just disappear; it may diminish, but games will still be televised.

Fellow Celts, I need your help.

My parents recently had to go into full time care in Wellburn Care Home, Lochee, Dundee. Run by the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Welburn offers incredible residential support for those in need in the Dundee area. It is only a viable concern through the dedication of the sisters and volunteers and fundraising initiatives such as sales of work, coffee mornings etc.

The sisters need cash to maintain the home for the benefit of the residents, you cannot visit there and not be inspired by the work the sisters do.

All our favourite players have signed the top which is in mint condition and in a fantastic presentation box.

  24. Don’t resign just refuse to play them, worst thing that can happen?, 12 point deduction

and then what, do you think the SPL will deduct points from Celtic for refusing to play an illegitimate club? 12 points is nothing, It would actually be funny if a club won the league who had never kicked a ball before.

I’m not asking anyone to act as I will.

I don’t trust DD and therefor in turn I don’t trust PL given he is acting out DD’s instructions. DD might not be a majority shareholder but he does have the backing of 50.9% of boardroom/shareholders therefor what he says goes. DD IMO is not a Celtic supporter like you or me. He is a money supporter. A man we are led to believe, rightly or wrongly, is holding onto his shares because of his son who is a real Celtic supporter. I wish he’d pass those shares on now rather than wait until his will allows.

I’m grateful for the tight ship they have ran and that we are not being emarrassed publically as Dignity FC have been. But if a “Strong Statement” is all our club offers us then what the hell was the point of the last 9/7 years frugality. Why???
